  • This vz.61 Skorpion Cutaway post sample machine pistol was built by Samopal. Be sure to watch our other video to see it shooting. Yes, it's a fully functional machine gun!
    You can visit our website here: www.samopal-us... Samopal is a company that provides Sa vz. 58 and Sa vz. 61 Skorpion gunsmithing services.

    With the popularity of Xray style simulations that are much easier to make and explain,
    It's genuinely impressive to look at a person who took the time, effort and money to create an IRL show gun with cutaway windows and color painting important parts to show how the gun works...
    Man, you have my respect for all you've done here.

      And one that can be fired !! Cutaway stuff was always around but only good for teaching in a class, now with high speed cameras, we get best of both worlds, with all the little imperfections such as the rate of fire not being very regular :-)

      @@zebracherub Thanks. I wasn't 100% sure if this cutaway would function. I thought it would, but I wasn't certain. In an unmodified vz.61 machine pistol (not a cutaway), the rate reducer is much more consistent. The cutaway sections in the tube for the reciprocating mass caused the mechanism to bind at times. I polished the edges of these two window cutouts, but there was still some binding on the edges. If I made the windows more narrow, that would have prevented binding. But, then we wouldn't have seen as much of the reciprocating mass.

    Dan can you some how show how the safety selector works? I’m having trouble with a Southern Tactical receiver and kit safety, very hard to put on safe. Thanks! Jeff T

    Thanks for the video. I would like to ask for details about how the disconnector is held back and doesn't engage if automatic is selected, do you have any detailed picture of how the selector works in different modes? On my "self-loading" conversion the disconnecter is always pushed forward regardless of the firing mode selected.

    • @samopalusa5249
      @samopalusa5249  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks! This disconnector has a metal protrusion that engages with the full auto safety selector. When the selector rotates to the full auto position, the metal protrusion on the disconnector is pushed downwards and this results in the disconnector being held back and away from the hammer in full auto function. Most likely your disconnector has had this metal protrusion cut off and it no longer engages with the safety selector.
