- Documenting the remnants & historic locations of long-abandoned ghost towns, Spanish Town & English Camp. Both sites were home to miners of quicksilver in the New Almaden area and were abandoned by the turn of the 20th century, and effectively erased by the army in the 1930's. Now located within a county park (popular hiking destination for Bay Area residents), both former townsites are hidden in plain sight. Join me to check out what is left of both Pre-Gold Rush settlements!
