- A step by step tutorial on how to play the harpsichord solo of "In My Life" by the Beatles, on guitar.
In My Life was a featured song on The Beatles 1965 album, Rubber Soul, which made it #23 on Rolling Stones Magazine's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time" as well as the #5 on their list of the Beatles 100 Greatest Songs.
After filming this video I found out that George Martin actually played piano for the solo which was sped up to sound like a harpsichord. So, technically not a harpsichord solo, but still a great solo and a wonderful piece to perform on guitar.

Apologies for not demonstrating it first! Skip to 8:01 to see the whole solo
Unable for now but I enjoyed seeing your lesson. Thanks
Man its been years and i m still waiting for that fingerstyle tutorial at the end.
This is what i've been looking for in my life 😂
I was looking around for this, so glad you took the time .to teach it, its difficult, for me anyway ,but the challenge is with it, thanks again
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it useful. I'm hoping to do more videos in the near future. Let me know if there's anything you would like to see
I need to stop underestimating what the guitar can do. Figured the solo wouldn’t quitework on guitar but now I realize a guitar solo in In My Life would have been great. Also your finger style playing at the end is really good !
That is great insight. Thanks so much for watching!
Pretty cool video 😎
Great job. Thanks for posting it.
Brilliant!
You nailed it. Very well done, transcribing across instruments and effectively reproducing the solo w he bass note stuff. Really cool. That is a great solo, so 16 th century or something.
Amazing! Thank you!!
Great clear lesson thanks so much it helped me
Thank you very much.Greetings from Italy.
AMAZING!!! Keep these up man!!
Awesome! Thanks for taking is slow and showing note by note.
Great work, great help, thanks a lot!
Brilliant mate. Have been wanting to learn this for ever. You are an excellent teacher. Cheers!👍👍
Thanks for the lesson!!!
Thanks for the great lesson!
Thanks for watching!
Why don’t you play the whole thing first so we can see if it’s even worth watching your video?
Never thought of that. Thanks for the advice!
Thankz a lot for sharing some important idea master...
Wait what lol
Great tutorial man, helped me a lot! Thank you :D
Thanks . Great tutorial.I notice this is the only tutorial.you should make more👏
I would like to learn the part that starts at 8:31 minutes. Thank you.
I've had a lot of requests for that, so I'm actually planning on making a tutorial for that part. Thanks for watching!
The best tutorial on this solo evah!!!
Thanks for the lesson man!
Excellent
This solo is DAMN HARD but thank you man !
Do you have a tutorial for the whole song?? You played that ending real good
Thanks! No I don't but I thought about doing it when I did this video
You should definitely do it! Why didn’t you do it?
@@jacozav1267 haha I don't know man. I guess I thought the solo was more interesting
Honestly man the solo was a masterpiece and I am currently practicing that bit right now, but after I heard you play that little snippet at the end I was completely mind blown because you actually play it better than anyone I’ve seen who plays the tutorial for it and trust me I’ve seen a few vids for this song man!
Wow cool! Thanks so much! Really appreciate that!
thank´s dude :D
could you give me tabs please thank you
Nice bro
Please oh please release the tabs! Well done!
if I'm not mistaken didn't George play it at regular speed then sped it up? Difficult to play the way it is on Rubber Soul!
You are not mistaken. That is exactly what he did. I realized that after filming this and while editing. I'm certain I made a notation of it in this video. Thanks for watching!
yeah! I or we really can learned with your tutorial...
dude what's your guitar??

Suggestion, brother. You may or may not find this useful. I find it easiest to describe notes on the guitar fingerboard by referring to their string/fret location. "Second string, 10th fret" I'd call, simply, 210 or "two ten." Second fret of the 6th string, I'd call 62 or "sixty-two." String is the always first digit, fret is the second )or second and third) digit. Just an idear.
That's a really cool concept! I'll try to remember that for next time. Thanks for the advice!
could you give me tab thank you
I am brasilian. Is hard to learn. No spike your language. But inscrived yourselve.
This shot too hard for me :(
It's only hard if you want to play it fast. Learn it slowly and practice it very slowly. Eventually you will be able to play it fast! Take your time and keep practicing! You can do it
Very confusing
Bruh it's good but you teach so fast
Thanks for the feedback. I would suggest slowing down playback speed. I'll definitely keep that in mind for my next video though
too fast, too fast
