Yep, felt that one!
I don't wanna sound like an elitist jerk, but the "guessing wrong on turn 6" is only an issue at low level play, as the decks get more complex and your opponents get more skillful, this final turn dilema appears less and less.
@@assboi yeah they gotta git gud. Winning two locations going into turn 6? Take the one you're losing. Losing two? Retreat unless you can get significant power down in two lanes. Those two rules solve like 70% of games.
Here come all the “no this game takes skill” comments lol. When 90% of it is luck based.
@@danielromanski5609 you can decrease luck dependency on this game. Don't make the deck that only support 1 card. Connect each other card with their effect so you can open the combo more often.
@@assboi I feel like theres alwasy the "correct" move on turn 6 sure, but your opponent can also do something unpredictable to change the outcome.
This video is longer than most Snap games
The opponents decide to wait until the last second to press "end turn" most of the time so some games could actually take as long as this video :(
As someone who has casually played MTG, Snap and Hearthstone and has been into Yu-Gi-Oh for a long time, the intro is 100%

I am so happy you mentioned Artifact. Ever since I got SNAP I can't stop thinking about how it captures everything Artifact failed to do properly
It's too bad Artifact didn't last very long. The online shop was a cool idea. ES Legends was awesome too.
Snap is too random for me. Gotta give a shout out to Riot's Legends of Runeterra for best CCG right now and it's very F2P friendly.

Loot boxes the origin
I can only think of a few video games that had any sort of random chance mini game (Bioshock 1 and 2 has literal slot machines, but all ya gotta do is save your game, then play and if you are doing poorly just reload and try some more… it’s just to try and farm money for buying ammo and stuff, both of which enemies tend to drop in small numbers, but the machines in those games are rather player friendly)
Classic Mario I think it was had that slot style power up thing with Toad, but that’s also not in the same league as loot boxes…

I'm not an expert, but I feel I've been able to do pretty well without looking up decks (I haven't... yet). Sure I've been tempted, but I think playing my own decks adds a bit of unpredictability and honestly some personality. My decks aren't the perfect builds being copied a million times, they're imperfect and they lose, but the wins I get sometimes are so much more satisfying knowing I could only have pulled it off because of one or two cards that I added only because I liked them. For example my old man Hawkeye because I liked that run so much that I had to add him to my movement deck (because I also haven't made a new deck since mid pool 2 lol).
I rambled. Sorry. Point being: I don't think anyone HAS to look up builds to succeed. I do think they're very beneficial in general, and I don't knock those guys at all, but I also do believe that someone can come into the game and find or build a (or multiple) deck(s) that work(s) for them despite meta standards and still have a really good time playing

I still love this game despite the luck/ skill ratio. My 2 year old daughter saw me playing and wanted a go, she won 3 matches on the trot. (she has no idea so she put everyone in 2 locations because in her own words "I want them sit next to their friends")

@@flameman1188 i put some other cards to make it work like elektra, sunspot, scarlet for location control, for defense -shangchi+enchantress and klaw for some reason gonna be replaced with drax because i always forget and get him enchanted.
My mutant deck is the best 80/100% chance of winning especially when I got Bishop and Professor X

@@hero3bash Extremely accessible while still maintaining depth. The upgrade system simultaneously is how you unlock new cards as well as giving your favorite cards more visual flair, making the entire process very enjoyable. Short games.

This game is legitimately fun and addictive, and I've played for hours without feeling remotely tempted to spend money on it.
I love Marvel Snap, the negatives sounded a bit too bad, but the positives are here aswell :D love it

Why do you people do this, like the game just came out, you know it takes time to make honest trailers right? Theyre going to make an honest trailer of it, wouldn't your efforts be better served asking for a game you want that isn't super likely to be done anyway? It's, like, aggressively difficult to spend money to progress at this game. I've never seen another mobile game with a daily spending *cap*, just to make sure you don't give them too much money at once.
I'd say it's both good and bad. It can get quite grindy to unlock cards, especially now with pool 4-5. Meaning no matter how big of a wallet you have, it's still a gigantic slog to get cards you want. And also their rates for money to gold is utterly atrocious. For 10 dollars you can get 875 credits. That's ~18 collection levels. There's roughly 12 collection levels between each collector reserve. And you need on average to go through three before you get a new card. Meaning for 10 dollars you only get HALFWAY to getting a SINGLE new card.
I appreciate them not enabling whales and leaving F2P players in the dust. But I can't say they have a great monetization model either.
@@Whitedudeabove i don't know.. whaling in this game doesn't necessarily win you games.. though Silver Surfer feels a bit OP atm, but Black Panther from last season isn't even that good. Wong gets hard countered so easily.

Yeah, this game is addictive as hell. I’m mainly playing it just to see if my boy Beta Ray Bill is gonna be in it. lol

am NO, as someone who played beta and has now a full collection, the meta is really boring once you are at the high ranks, the game is designed as a quick cash grab and RNG fest with hollow strategy. I will predict that this game will surely lose a lot of their players a year from now

I'm surprised a Marvel mobile game is popping off so hard to the point it got an honest trailer! I've played a few but the only one I've stuck with since launch is Marvel Future Fight. It's got so much content!

@@vhfulgencio Yeah defo a lot of (CTP of) greed. I've pretty much been F2P since the start but I've bought the odd Stark Stash. There have been periods where I didn't really play but I always come back. I definitely don't have the strongest roster but I find ways to have fun, feels nice to have a virtual collection of heroes all customised the way you like them, maybe that's what keeps me coming back even if I don't use all my heroes.

Honestly besides enjoying the game what really got me instrested in the game is the art because one card can be straight adorable yo 😳

Honestly, if you're looking for incredible CCG art, Legends of Runeterra has the best I've ever seen. Every unit is just wallpaper worthy art filled with just an insane amount of detail that I'm hard pressed to find anywhere else. It's kind of incredible and is a huge selling point for the game.

This whole thing is pretty spot on. The one thing I'll kinda call out is the money spending too boost you in game. Other than the monthly battle pass that helps a lot, throwing money at the game won't allow you to unlock new characters, like Marvel Strike Force.
This game really should win best mobile. They're not greedy, Battles are always SNAPPY, getting ahead is completely up to skill since card upgrades are completely optional and cosmetic only, and this makes the season pass actually worth buying. You can get cards gradually just by playing the game. Ben Brode even takes measures to accomadate new players. This is what Future Fight, Puzzle Quest and Strike Force are missing. That's just the technical things I enjoy, aside from the crispy art styles. This game has a really bright future ino.

Yep. I agree. This game amazes me so much. It's a quintessence of all good stuff from Artifact, Hearthstone and Gwent. In addition devs went away from a standard for mobile games cash-grab monetization systems and invented an interesting one which I respect the most.

Been playing Marvel Snap since launch and am in 63 ( I think Platinum), I agree with you 100%
But, just like CinemaSins, this should not stop you from playing the game just cause you hear all the negatives. Its actually a really fun game and lowkey addictive, highly recommend 10/10

Great video but I have to give snap it's flowers. Most f2p friendly game I've played in a long time, especially on mobile. I haven't spent a dime and I'm unlocking cards and making them shiny at a very reasonable rate.
You know there are some content creators complaining that there isn't anything to spend their money on. I'd say that's a success for a F2P player :)
@@RickReasonnz I haven't heard anyone say that, but I fully believe some CC aren't too happy with it. Throwing money at the game to be the best isn't going to have the same effect as other games. Also, I've really been enjoying Snap; but I imagine it's difficult for CC's to push new Snap Conent everyday. After being a MSF junkie, I'm loving the switch to Snap; it's just a lot more fun, despite it being simpler.

This game is verrrrry similar to the card/board game “Air, Land & Sea”. The difference being Snap’s deck building, simultaneous turns, and random environment cards.

I had no intentions on playing this game but my friends convinced me to get it pre-ordered on iOS and now I can’t stop playing it…
Waiting on the update is killing me. I want the Collector's Tokens so I can play with the Patriot deck and the Lockjaw/Dracula deck.
It's a fun an addicting game, with no bs what eg. Heartstone has. The more you play, the more it reward you, and it's really a free-to-play/start experience. I didn't even bought the so-called Welcome bundle, as I didn't need it anyway.

Pretty much on point. Except there's really little reason to spend money; F2P doesn't miss out on a whole lot.
This game is simple but complex for how simple it is. I actually love this game. Note: It is totally 50% luck, and 50% skill.

I see the advantage in Marvel SNAP compared to MTG Arena mostly in 2 points: 1st the games are much shorter and I have not to commit forty minutes to some slow playing sucker, who ropes all the time even though we both know that I am winning. 2nd, and maybe more important, is that people have not to spend lots of money to be competitive, I mean if one is not spending huge amounts of money in MTG Arena they are getting nowhere (and they have to spend money since the cards are always rotating), and here in Marvel SNAP I just went Infinite in 3 weeks with cards that everybody gets for free.
Lmao LOR is such an underappreciated game. I don't know why I expected to hear a mention of that game here when RIOT doesn't.

This game is basically oversimplfied Qwent+Artifact with a little bit gambling element (snap mechanic). And a unique (or weird) progression.

As someone who creates his decks in yugioh - no matter how rare the occasion may be - without looking at any guides or any references outside the game, I can confirm, I am insane enough to understand the winning conditions and requirements of the deck I'm making via trial and error.
I refuse to be included to the list of players who plays with copied decks and doesn't take enough time to read and study the deck they randomly copied.
