Bear's Memorial plans and 110 Years of Greenbank Farm

- Bear will come home this week and we're planning a small memorial service for him on 31st July if we're able to source the apple tree we'd like to plant above him.
If we can't livestream we will certainly video it for you all so you can see where he'll be laid to rest in the Orchard.
If you would like to contribute towards his memorial tree and the protection we need to put around it in the orchard (we'll also be upgrading the protection around the other memorial trees) you can do so through the PayPal link or via our website with a note to say what your contribution is towards.

I couldn’t add anything more to everyone’s loving comments on Teddy Bear. You all expressed the many emotions I’ve been feeling. I too didn’t think I could watch the end of the vlog. It took me a couple hours before I could and I’m glad I did. I was watching Love.

Aww, the Forget-Me-Nots would be marvelous. Yup, 😭. Very glad you shared the last video(s) of Teddy. Oh, he looked so galant as a medieval horse. So stunning. Would’ve been something to witness Bear’s ancestors carrying knights into battle. Such an ancient breed going all the way back to the 1200’s. I am surprised at how invested I was in Bear's journey. And how even though I knew how bad the odds were (horses & leg problems = usually bad news) I was still so unprepared I was when you had to make that horrible decision. You did more than most would. It still brings tears to my eyes when I think of him and not for a bad reason. Bear is in Heaven, I have no doubt.

I like to think I celebrate the life of wybren, not the lost he gave so much in his short life a credit to you all .Sandy captured so many beautiful photos ,and the videos of him his beautiful brave character shines through I think loved watching him free raining in the yard with Anja so sweet outside friendship barn ysbrand (iceman) and the other horses will miss him also. 😢❤

I did end up watching until the end … I assumed you (Tracey) would have been discreet with what you would share. It seems he really enjoyed his visits from Auntie Jayne, as well. I’m glad I didn’t miss seeing him enjoying all the treats and pampering! He definitely had a beautiful spirit about him.
Hopefully his necropsy will come up with something that can be learned from all this sadness.
Congratulations on Greenbank Farm’s 110th Birthday, even though it’s been overshadowed and was a bittersweet celebration. This was a difficult time for all of you who have cared for and been touched by Teddy Bear, since his arrival to Greenbank. Hopefully this will remind us all just how special and important this farm is … and what it truly means to all the majestic Black Beauty Pearls, who are able to live their lives out at Greenbank!
So sorry, as I’m sure everyone else feels similarly, that Teddy Bear wasn’t able to have spent more time there, at the sanctuary … but it wasn’t meant to be. He’ll now spend it in an eternal way … different than we all had hoped for … but nonetheless will be remembered always.
The pics of him showed a handsome boy, who had a special personality and spirit to match, who brought joy to all. He will be able to roam in the same way as the others who have also departed … in whatever way God has created, for all who have been blessed with life at one time! I’m sure he will have a lovely memorial apple tree planted in his name … it will no doubt bear (no pun intended) much fruit, in his remembrance. Blue forget-me-not flowers have always been a favourite … what a treasure to one be seen growing throughout the acres on the Farm!
Thanks Tracey for sharing … sorry you had to take the brunt of this difficult time … along with the others. We know time will heal all and I know you’ll never lose sight of the mission you started some years ago … and the entire staff, volunteers and entire Greenbank Community who make it all possible. It’s surely blossoming into something probably never expected would come to fruition like it is … and yes … there are some dreams that do come true!

Celebrating teddy's life and the farm together is a perfect fit. Meant to be remembered forever. Seems to be the only thing to do, will be time to turn the Sadness into happy memories

It took me awhile to comment on this video for quite an obvious reason. Yes, the video with Teddy hurts, but I won't look away. All that is being done or planned in his memory is lovely. There cannot be enough seen, said or done for this amazing soul.
