I remember when you played this and Simon accompanied you. Lovely to hear it again.

an organist equal to the task. The name Latry speaks for itself.

I lik the fact that because the organ is not the one in notre dame the sound is totally different. I'am verry surprise by the difference from the recording that we know. it's interesting to see the really big differrence between french and english pipe organ building evenf if both organ are mainly romantic/symphonic

from the most peaceful organ solos, to chant, to a thunderous interventions in Ad te clamamus and suspiramus to a thrilling conclusion with a huge sound and finishing in a whisper, this is a great performance Ben.

Thanks so much! Really good. In my ears, quite aptly Notre-Dame-y in sound and style. (And that fat Cromorne alone made my day.)

Wow, this is amazing! Over the last 20 years I’ve enjoyed playing Naji Hakim’s serene and ethereal ‘Salve Regina’ but this is something else!
Please, is there any way I can get the music? Is it available through any particular website? I’d love the opportunity to study the score and get a deeper insight into Latry’s improvisatorial thinking.

Nice to hear the chant in between which obviously we didn't get in Oct 2022.

Hi, Catriona! This was recorded in October 2022 with me singing the chant live at Ben's recital in the London Oratory series. Perhaps you heard it somewhere else too... ? Such a great piece!

@@simonbiazeck5093 I was there, sitting opposite the Organ loft. I now remember that to my knowledge you have been the only member of the Choir to sing during the October Organ recitals. Are you there tomorrow night?

@@simonbiazeck5093 I usually sit in the hard pews just back from the organ loft, I sit elsewhere on Sundays! Paddy R knows how much I appreciate all that you all do...busy weeks ahead.
