I am from Sweden, and when I was a kid in the 90s me and my family would often travel on vacation to a summer colony in southwestern Sweden 400 miles away that is owned by my village, and we would always start those journeys at midnight, since it was too warm to drive during the days. I always thought that it was incredibly fun and exciting to start a journey during the night like that.
Taking a 1700 mile trip in my Tacoma to visit my girlfriend in Idaho. Can’t wait to get on the open road, Just figured I’d check out these videos before I leave. Love the dashcam idea. Another thing I would recommend if you have room is auxiliary tools, Hammer, Screwsrivers, Small socket set especially if you have little cubbies you can tuck them away into. They’re lifesavers when you need them and when you’re super far from home you don’t wanna be without em
You covered it very well. Cash- sometimes you need exact change so it is good to have a supply of bills in small denominations. If you are camping you may be at a campground where you put your registration on an envelope, put the money in the envelope so here you need exact change. Did I miss you say sunglasses? Since I started backpacking long ago I've been making my own list of things to bring. Now it is on my computer so I always consult the master list and make up a list from it for each specific trip.
@@JeanieMarie I dont know if I missed it in the center console area but, believe it or not I've worked at a PINK store for 5 years and I always take one one our body lotions when I'm in the desert or mountains.
Another thing to add to your list is a pen or pencil. There has been more than one instance that we were at a trail heads trying to find something to write with when buying a day pass.
My hubby had a utensil tote when we met, I expanded it a bit when we got married. I have a smaller one that I put the actual utensils (forks and stuff) in to keep them clean, I added the soap and spring in a zip lock, he didn’t have any, I love just grabbing it and going.
Happy road tripping to you all!! Wishing you many fun safe road trips for years to come! 🚗 If you enjoyed this vlog, you may also enjoy my road trip snacks vlog, check it out: th-cam.com/video/HT8nyozGNsY/w-d-xo.html
I love all your ideas!!! They are amazing!! I also wanted to through out some ideas too. I live in Colorado and just learned this from my eye Dr. Visine is great for temporary relief, but has an ingredient that can dry your eyes out more. He recommended Systane. It’s over the counter at any pharmacy. He said it’s like lotion for the eyes and is good for the dry environment. I am a woman who travels a lot w my kids. I like to have pepper gel. I keep one in the car while driving and one in my purse/backpack. And make sure your jump-starter works once you use the compressor. We were on a trip and I had to use the compressor to inflate my tires. It worked great, but wouldn’t jump a couples car. Looking at the manual the jumper cables won’t work once the compressor has been used. I am deeply disappointed, but I learned a good lesson before I was stranded anywhere!
Oh wow!! Thank you so very much for all this info! So good to know about the air compressor! I'm going to have to test that out! And definitely going to check out the eye drops! Thanks again! 💕
I never thought of using a tote for utensils. I always use a large reusable bag. But that's a great idea I'm definitely going to have to get a tote and put them in there instead. I will be going on a 25-hours road trip this summer.. Do you rent a car when you go on all your road trips or do you have a vehicle that is only use for road trips because of all the road trips that you've been taking I'm sure that takes up a lot of mileages ?
Yes, we love having the tote and just having all our supplies ready to just grab and go. Makes road trips/camping so much easier. We drive our vehicle if taking a road trip from home. Of course if we fly somewhere to road trip we rent a car.
I love this channel. You do such a great job with your videos. All the time, effort and detail you put into them is spot on and as a subscriber I appreciate it. An all around beautiful channel. Can't wait to see you guys visit Colorado Springs!!
Ahh! Thanks so much! I really appreciate that! 🙏 and yes, I've been to CO Springs but that was before I had a TH-cam Channel. Definitely need to get back there and relive all the fun! ☺️
Oh ok. Ya know I kind of figured so since it's just right there by you guys. Gorgeous area I love it. Indeed you do except this time you're camera ready 😜🎥. Weeelp lol with that being said can't wait for the next one and you're very welcome btw 😏🙏
Mama, not everyone is going on road trips directly from their homes in Colorado. In fact a majority of us fly to a destination and then road trip in rental cars. A lot of these suggestions are totally impractical for that situation.
You are correct. I never said this was about flying and then road tripping...this is roadtripping from your home. You can easily find other videos online that will suit your situation.

I'm about to go on a 17 hour road trip to Colorado for a mission trip
What's a great place to book in the winter. I wanna wake up to snow and fun!
The camping chairs link doesn't work? I love them! What's the brand or what are they called? 🥰
Thank you for letting me know! Looks like they've updated them. Here's the new link: amzn.to/3EpYYri
2006? My first road trip was in 1972. So there! 😀
How's that for dating yourself! 😀
I'm always traveling so I thought I could do some research lol. I might have to move states again even though I just moved in September lol.
Hi, does one annual pass cover for 2 people, if they are in the same car? thanks a lot
It depends on the park. Some are by car, some are by person.
I mean this was an okay guide

Enjoying your videos, but please flip your front facing video clips so they aren’t backwards. It is driving me crazy!
Sorry it bothers you, but at this time I don't plan on purchasing brand new camera equipment for something so minor.
@@JeanieMarie you should be able to flip it in what ever software you use. Or change a setting in your camera.
Cas-steel soap is how it’s said.

Maybe a Jerry can of extra gasoline just in case there are no gas stations to be seen for a while
So what’s up with the wandering wedding band? Every other shot it’s on the other hand?!?
When I use selfie mode it flips the screen ...so looks backwards . It's not wandering lol!
