- I'm back!
Now that I work full-time in a job where people actually see my hair on a daily basis, I needed to find creative ways to make styling my hair suit my busier lifestyle.
If you watch my channel already, this video is going to be boring but it is part 1 of my 3 different hair routines, my next 2 videos will be much shorter and you may be surprised at how I style my hair dry for work when I'm in a rush.
Products:
Tresemme Miceller Moisture Silicone & Sulphate Free Conditioner (too light for my hair/didnt love it)
Shea Moister Jamaican Black Castor Oil leave in Conditioner
Biotera Alcohol Free Defining Gel (Exclusively at Sally)
Herbal Essence Curl Boosting Mousse
Hair Dryer by Jinri (It was a gift/ its OK) ha!
Thanks for watching,
Susie
So good to see you again!
Agreed!
Man…I’ve missed you. You were the first video I watched back in 2019. You are so normal and explain things simply.
“How often do I brush my hair? Maybe once every two months” 😂. Missed your videos! Love the sense of humor. Thank you for always demonstrating how much you use for the length of your hair. I personally find it very helpful.
Yay! You’re back!!!!
Wow, long time no see!!!! You're hair has GROWN SO LONG since the last time I saw you!!!! So good to see you again!! Looking forward for more of your content. Always loved them! You're looking fabulous as always.
Best wishes!! 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
I haven’t watched yet but OMG what a pleasant surprise! Nice to see you!
The one I’m getting ready to upload next week is better because it’s a new very quick & convenient way to style your hair when you are busy. :)
I can't imagine trying to shower/wash/style my curly hair in the am with the added chaos of kids/school lol I wash and style in the evenings and then refresh in the mornings before work haha. It's a real treat when I get to wash, style, air dry and not ruin it by laying on it all night long.
If you use good quality water soluble products you don’t need to wash hair often. I use Innersense and wash my hair once a week. I do refresh in between and sleep in a satin bonnet. 1-2x a month I use Innersense Detox, which “detoxes” my hair.
Welcome back to TH-cam land! It's so nice to see you're here again! You have always been my favorite Curly girl TH-camr!
So happy to see you !! You were the first curly hair online tutorial I watched over and over and made sense and got to the root (no pun) of curly hair- you didn't discuss unimportant details,so viewing video was so worth my time and loved your down to earth genuine personality and speaking style❤
thank you so much Gail!
There are many ingredients that build up on hair, not just silicone. For me, whose hair is fine and thin, buildup is very real and I don't use silicone. Sulfates are a necessity for people like me and more frequent shampooing is necessary as well.
Yup same. Sulfate shampoo every 3 days at a minimum or I get breakouts.
Yes I find that I need to clarify because I also have very hard water so need to get rid of mineral deposits as well.
So good to see you again.
What a sweet surprise to see you posting again!
That is my favorite leave in conditioner that I use almost every day to refresh. I do agree the smell is weird but I love it!
That is my favorite leave in conditioner that I use almost every day to refresh. I do agree the smell is weird but I love it! My all-time favorite gel because you suggested it years ago!
Our hair is exactly the same and mine is a bit longer... I cant believe how much it tangles! Ty so much for taking the time to share!
Susie! Yours were the first videos I watched almost a year ago when I started this curly thing. So nice to see you again!!!!

Really enjoyed your video. I don’t know what happened but eventhough I have subscribed i wasn’t getting any of your vid, so i was wonderfully surprised to see you again after months of not. Always love your content, thank you!

So great to see you back on the tube!
What a treat to see you!
Was so excited to see you again!
I’ve been watching you for years, WELCOME BACK!!! Your hair has sure grown fast. I have the same curls as you. I’ve been letting my hair grow for 3 yrs and it’s the same length as yours now… again, it’s nice to see you again…. Tori from Kingman Az…. When I started watching you I lived in California
Good to see you back again!
Welcome back! You’ve definitely been missed. I started my hair journey 7 years ago and you were such a big part of my journey. My 2 adult daughters are just starting their curly hair journeys! I will for sure introduce them to the famous
Curly Susie 😊
My daughter always complains about the number of channels I subscribe to. So last week I went through and deleted a bunch of channels I don't watch. I hovered over yours because you weren't going to post any more but I didn't. And voila! I'm glad you're back!
Tell your daughter that I told you if you unsubscribe it's bad luck lol
This makes me so happy! I have missed seeing you!
Wonderful to see you again with such good hair advice as always. Followed your routine today, and waw, I have so much hair by only using a conditioner and gel. Maybe a curl cream would enhance my curls, but the volume and waves is imense! Thanks from Wales 🏴
Glad you are back missed you ❤
Welcome back girl!!!
Love this! Where do you get your clips?
I’m so happy to see you!!!😊
Hi Susie, looking forward to the series. I am enjoying my curls here in south Florida. Resisting Keratina treatments. 🌸
So good to see your face (and hair) again!
Ohmygosh! I have been following a few other curly girls but they just aren’t Curly Susie! Last night I rewatched a bunch of your videos because your style works for me. What a wonderful surprise to have you back☺️
Wow, great to see you!!
I love my Biotera gel!!! Thank you for introducing me to it. Between that and my Jessicurl I am set!!!!
Glad to see you!!! ❤
Well this was a nice surprise! 🎉💕
Girllllll! I’m NOT joking that I was just thinking of reaching out to you, and here you are!!!
Susie's back! Xxx
This worked better than anything other routine I’ve used. Thank you! ❤you’re beautiful and I love your videos!
So glad! And thank you for taking the time to leave a comment Virginia. I'm sorry if the end of the video was a bit confusing. I normally don't diffuse my hair a whole lot. Someday I'll take my camera to work and show my hair as it dries throughout the day :)
Absolutely gorgeous hair!
So excited too see you in my feed!
Also why has your hair groaned mine hasn’t 🫤
I also use that mousse every time. Tighter curl (the stronger orange one-it’s so good)
Great to see you!
Awesome to see you make videos again! Love how uncomplicated your turorials are. I have similar hair and also live in Canada. I hope we can find a good Biotera dupe soon.
Love this!
My curl care routine is exactly the same! My preferred products (as of right now because they can change ) are Joico Defy Damage shampoo and conditioner, with Zotos All About Curls bouncy cream, and Dippity Doo Sport gel.
I have to wear my hair up for my job, and I drive an hour to work daily. It gives me time to let my curls dry and get the volume, and it’s so nice to put my hair up in a bigger claw clip for my work day, without ruining my curl clumps and natural pattern.
Wow, Susie! So glad to see you again! 💕
Thank you, Linda. Very glad to be back :)
I love that you still use a tshirt! My routine is very similar to this one. I do have to clarify weekly because we have very hard water with a Lot of iron.
You’re back!! Yay!
YAY!! haha
First of all, glad to see you back! You mentioned the price of the TreSemme products and I found them today at Walmart in Kelowna, BC for $6.97.
It’s you! ❤ Great to see you ! 🎉
Yay! So great to see you back! You were such an encouragement when I stopped straightening my hair.
Yay! You are back!
Welcome back ❤
Ahhh it's so good to see you on here!
Always love to see you in my feed, Susie! I am your hair twin as far as curl pattern 😊 I always use "clean" styling products, but my curl just perks right up after a wash with good old fashioned sulfate shampoo. Funny how we're all different!
I like how you make it simple and easy. It's good to see a new video from you.
I am so happy to see your on TH-cam again. I’ve missed you.
Hi Susie! So good to see you again! Your hair is so long again and beautiful! I need to try your trick with the clips! I use one while diffusing to close up a swirling cowlick and it works well! Still using Bioterra, I see! I use a similar Biolage Gelee because I live in a very humid climate and it doesn’t have glycerin and works better to control my frizz. Keep the videos coming! I’ll bet your kids are getting big now! ❤
Yes, i'm all for you keeping it long!
Yaaaay Susie! It’s been too long!🥰
I missed your videos
Welcome back!! Awesome to see you again! And you're hair is really long again :)
I was just wondering about you the other day! It is such a blessing seeing your beautiful face! Can’t wait to see your up coming videos!
Eeeek! I was just thinking about you the other day browsing YT hair content. So excited to see a new video. Looking awesome!!
Ahh my ❤ was so happy to see a new video! I've been binge watching your old videos. I work outside of the home so I need a quick, easy routine. Looking forward to seeing your new content. Your hair looks amazing and love the length!
Hi Susie. Long time no see. Welcome back. Fellow Canuck here. Wow, your hair has changed. This is the curliest/waviest I’ve seen it, beautiful. I can’t believe that both your boys are in school. Are you still in nursing? Looking forward to more videos from you with a Canadian perspective. Ciao for now.
You are back!
Welcome back Susie! I was literally thinking of you the other day and am so glad you're back. As a fellow Canadian in Ontario, I've also noticed how expensive shampoo and conditioner are at the drugstore. I have yet to find a good line that's sulfate and silicone free. The search continues. So glad to see you and excited about the next videos in the series.
The old Tresemme silicone free conditioner "Botaniques" was great but I can't find it anymore :( I'm also on the hunt.
@@CurlySusieI’ve been using Viori shampoo and conditioner bars. Quite liking them. But my hair loves protein.
Surprised to see you back. Beautiful hair growth since your short style of a few years ago. I have not seen the gel you use here in Florida. I use Giovanni LA hold for my fine wavy curly hair mixed with a pea size amount of Curlsmith shine gel unscented. I tend to get dermatitis from shampoos and conditioners that are not organic so I use Innersense. No leave in, but occasionally I will use a small amount of Innersense mousse. I vary deep conditioning between lower protein and moisture types depending on what my hair seems to need. Welcome back!
Hey there Susie! It's so good to see you again! I feel like we have the same hair type, except mine is very dry on the top section and struggling to get it to retain water and moisture, I think because it mostly grey. I use your style method. It looks really good when it has conditioner and is soaking wet. I've tried a lot of gels, Biotera has become my favorite and works really well for my hair, thanks to you. I've also bought the bigger bottles! 😆
So great to see you again! Love the updated routine. This was my reminder to start using biotera gel again
Welcome back!! I just thought of you today, I kid you not! I’m reading a book about someone who mentioned where you live and I was like oh man I really miss her I hope all is well!
Work in an office? I thought you were a nurse! So happy to see you after a much too long break.
Beautiful results!
Thank you Susan :) From one Susan to another lol
Sooooo happy to see you again!!!!!!!!!
Just saw your video from a year ago with the heading “new job”. So I will watch that to answer my previous post about the office job.
Such a joy to see you pop up on my feed!
Hi Susie! Nice to see you. I have been using Suave Tropical Coconut Nourishing shampoo & conditioner. I only use the shampoo every two weeks or so just depending on how dirty my hair is. I still use Cantu leave-in conditioner at the end with Bioterra Gel or other gel.
Glad you're back! I've missed your videos.
Every effective technique and product I use,
I learned from you.

I’m so glad to see you here again.
