Nice cutting technique on that cabbage! This came out delicious.
I’ve used this recipe many times, using a bag of cabbage from the grocery store already sliced, and for anyone on Keto, used 1/2 cup of almond flour. Delicious. Mozzarella on top.

Thank you. I was going to ask about Keto. Because of keto-I am on 100 carbs a day, now, I would probably use less carrots and a lot less potato. Wonder how many carbs it is???

Thank you!! I've just made it! So good!! I like the way cut raw potato mixed with other cooked ingredients creates great texture.I didn't have carrots ,so substituted with red bell pepper added panko and cut oats.

I have made this; it is quite delicious. As a variation, I add about a pound of ground turkey (pre-cooked and drained) to the final mix before sautéing the individual pies. It’s excellent either way. Superb comfort food and fun to prepare.
I’ve added tuna
This immediately reminded me of korean sandwiches. Cabbage and eggs, mixed and fried and put between bread. Additions added as wanted. This mixture is great by itself but used to make a sandwich would terrific.

На завтрак иногда делаю нечто подобное, но там только капуста, немного муки и яйца. Если добавить сахар, то получится сладкий пирог к чаю)

I made these, so yummy. I used sweet potato instead of white potato & added really sliced up cauliflower.
These cakes, which take latkes to the next level with the addition of the cabbage and carrots, would make for a perfect side for your last posted recipe for the mushroom soup. This is the beauty of Slovak cooking in that all of it is compatible with everything else at the table.

My mother's side of the family was Slovak and she certainly cooked with cabbage and these other vegetables a similar dishes, all variations on a theme. But I'm just coming to understand the Slovak roots of her cooking. Does this Chef represent typical Slovak cooking? I can't read most of the comments.

@@owenritz1224 Yes she does represent traditional Slovak cooking while occasionally putting her own flair towards the cooking. Don't worry about the comments, just pay particular attention to what she is doing as she prepares the meals before your very eyes. I have found the same mode of thinking with regard to channels here on TH-cam helpful that feature Italian, Middle Eastern, anywhere in the world, although the host speaks in a foreign tongue. @@owenritz1224 You may also want to stock up on caraway seeds, they tend to cut the gassiness of the cooked cabbage upon digestion, just a helpful tip that might keep your family and neighbors coming back for the next festive occasion. Have a great Holiday season!
@@owenritz1224 One recipe you may like, something my mom used to make was cabbage soup, she would chop up a head of cabbage, add it to a tomato based stock (season and spice it as you see fit- my personal favorite is Nature Seasons by Morton, the salt company, if you can find it where you live, I know Amazon stocks it-once you use this, you will never go back to just plain salt and pepper, believe me, my ex-wife turned me on to it many years ago) preferably chunks/slices of tomatoes in a can (use as many cans as you see fit) and add meatballs, whether you make them yourself or buy the frozen pre-made (again, readily available at Amazon). If you make the meatballs yourself, just cook them in the plain water (unless you plan on adding broth which is also a good idea regarding flavor), skim off any of the fatty crud that tends to float to the top of the water/broth, or fry the meatballs in advance and then add them to the soup mixture. Done properly, you will not be disappointed. Take care and have a great Holiday season!
