    What an amazing video. 👏🏻
    The part of the two riders preparing their respective mounts, for their day ahead, and mounting onto their journey - another day in this life, wow. Just - wow. Every single component, every prop in that sequence - perfect 👌🏻👍🏻 How the world has moved on, yet life stands right in one place. Thank you for this video. We experienced the emotions of your time there, while sitting across the world.

      The ritual of gearing up and getting in the "saddle"... crosses between different lifestyles which, for a brief moment, are the same.
      I was dumbstruck by how many sheep there were up there! What happens when he goes to Mexico, do they get checked or carry-on??

    Probably one of my favorites that you have created Sterling. I always look forward to your videos. I appreciate your cinematography and how your skill continues to grow and refine. Outstanding work. I loved how you wove Jose’s story into the video. Who knew that sheepherders live at the top of mountings in CO! As he ride away at the end of the video I couldn’t help but think about how quiet his life is yet how he surely struggles with life’s stressors just like you and me. Blessings to him and his family as well as you and yours.

    Wow, I’m in Colorado and was born here, and it just goes to show that you often don’t get to explore your own backyard. I will have to take my GS850 up to ptarmigan Pass and look for the sheep. I loved the ending, with the horse and the iron horse getting ready and then riding off. And a little frustrating that TH-cam seemed to hide your videos over the past few months. Thank you Sterling.

    What a wonderful treat, to have this gorgeous video to watch in January while I'm farkling my little ADV bike and planning trips to take in the spring. Your videos are so artfully made. They're beautiful. I was not expecting sheep, but I guess that's part of what makes it an adventure. Thank you so much for sharing this experience.

    • @2ndborn186
      @2ndborn186 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome. I am researching for the best ADV bike for myself. Which one do you have? I am leaning towards the Himalayan, although I wish it had a bigger CC engine in it.

    • @Liberty4Ever
      @Liberty4Ever 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@2ndborn186 - I bought a 2019 BMW G310GS a little over a year ago, just as the 2021 models were arriving at the dealers. BMW offered a $1000 incentive and the dealer came down another $400 to get the bike off the showroom floor, so I paid $4920 out the door for a new bike with three year factory warranty, which was less than a 2-3 year old used G310GS with 5000+ miles and little to no warranty. Even at sticker price, I think the baby GS is a good value.
      I wanted a small ADV bike since 1975, before there were ADV bikes. We got big ADV bikes in the 1980s but only recently got these small ADV bikes. They're awesome. They're fun and comfortable on the road, can do a short stint on the highway if needed, and are great for the secondary roads, rural roads, fire roads, forest service access roads, dirt roads and easy trails I do now that I'm in my 60s. It's a lot more fun to take a lightweight and nimble bike off road at any age, but these small ADV bikes are allowing older riders to keep riding for another decade or so when a larger ADV bike is too heavy. I've always ridden small dual sport bikes, and the G310GS is much more comfortable on the road, and it's far more capable off road than I am at this point. I've always enjoyed ultralight camping, and a small ADV bike allows me to do that simply and efficiently. I'm a big fan of simple and efficient. I like cheap too, and the G310GS has delivered there as well. So far, I only have 2500 miles on it but I've done the simple maintenance myself. It's required no warranty service. I ride it, change the oil and clean the chain, and that's about it.
      I looked at the Himalayan. I like high tech instead of retro, but I liked the simplicity and maintainability of the Himalayan, and the low end torque. Tractoring up hills is more my style now. At the time I was wanting to buy, the Himalayan was allocated. There was apparently some sort of online lottery or something. The local dealer didn't have one and couldn't get one. I have nothing bad to say about the Himalayan or the KTM 390 Adventure, which the local dealer also didn't have and wouldn't order for me, but I'm glad I got the G310GS. I've had a lot of fun on it last year and now that it's winter I'm adding more farkles, I mean accessories, and I'm planning rides for when the weather is warm again.
      Other bikes I'd consider would be 300cc class dual sport bikes that I could mod to be off road oriented ADV bikes. The Honda CRF300L Rally would be near the top of the list. The Kawasaki KLX300 looks good to me as well. These dual sport bikes have two gallon fuel tanks. My G310GS has a 2.9 gallon tank, and I think all ADV bikes need at least 350 mile range, but I'd give them a 5-6 gallon tank. At least with the popular dual sport bikes, larger after market tanks are available.
