We all know that iPhone SE is similar to iPhone 5s both in appearance and internal structure. What surprise us most is that they have many compatible components, which will reduce repair shops maintenance costs and supply chain pressure.

So was the front flash working after interchanging the display on SE ?
So you can fit the 5S into the SE and you got a replaceable logo ;)
My 1st gen iphone se broke recently and I got a iphone 5s for cheap and was wondering if I could replace the broken parts with the iphone 5s parts like the screen. Or possibly even move over things like the motherboard and battery to the 5s

There is one issue in swapping the screen of IP5 to SE. The FRONT MIC wont work. incompatible.(hissing in front video record. and Siri cant hear you.)
Have you placed the original front mic from the iphone se or from the 5?

Matus replace the motherboard with one from a higher capacity model
Buy a 64GB or 128GB memory chip. You'll also need a BGA flash programmer to set the serial number and program basic functionality (these usually run around $500). You'll also need a BGA rework station, some flux, solder and a micro soldering station. Once you have all this, program your new chip, remove the old one, and put the new one on.
Yes, you have to solder on a new, bigger memory chip, and have to back up kernel data from the old one and flash it onto the new one.

No because the homebutton has to be the same as the original that came with it. And no, getting a donor iphone se button also wouldnt work because its not from the original build.

Thanks for hard work. Can you replace home button and Touch ID Scanner Assembly and recover Touch ID function on 5S, 6, 6S? If you already did that, May I ask a info ..?
You can buy replacements. 5s and 6 sensors (besides the actual button) are actually almost the same. 6s and se use the new touch ID, no clue about compatibility in between them. 5s and se have the same form factor though, as do the 6 and 6s.
Einsteinition you can't change home buttons and keep TouchID functionality. The sensor is only compatible with the phone it was manufactured with.

Depends, the 1st gen or 2nd gen? For the first generation se the iphone 5 or 5s. Although the normal 5 would have less quality, and they are both around the same price

It is a good option to buy a iphone 5s as spare parts if anything other breaks like the lightning port because they are the exact same size, the se was built within the 5s body with parts coming from the iphone 6s made for the people who like the old design. And I almost forgot to mention it can be updated to ios 15 instead of the iphone 5s being stuck on ios 12.5.5

5s/5c are interchangeable within themselves but that’s it for 5 series.
iPhone 5/se cannot use any battery but there own.

All you will need to do is place the homebutton from the se and maybe even the front facing camera and speakers into your new display.
FYI the chassis ARE identical. Even have the actual Apple CAD drawings to prove it.
That is outside of finish as the se has bead blasted edge where the 5s is run through a finishing op on the mill to give it that polished edge look.

look up iphone 6 mini housing. my 5s is in one. it's so sleak. not sure if the se housing is identical though.
The iphone se is built in the 5s body containing parts from the 6s. And the great thing about getting the 1st gen se is that it can still be updated to ios 15!

JDF, LT and TM are the name of different China Made screens, their LCD come from different suppliers.
