Cleaning your Da-Lite Screen

Da-Lite has developed cleaning methods that we know from experience will not damage your screen. The steps as outlined below follow a progression of cleaning methods from general maintenance and care to deep stains. If you follow these steps in order, you can expect to maintain the optical properties of your Da-Lite screen throughout its life cycle.

Rust spots unfortunately will not come off but it doesn't hurt to try denatured alcohol.

Hey there, I just found an old DA-Lite projector screen on tripod stand. It's got some mold/rust spots. What would be best to clean this? Is bleach too gnarly? If I can't get it all off can I paint it and if so what kind of paint?

I've used windex original and isopropel alcohol but it left streaks. How do I get rid of streaks?

Our sceens (4) seem to have a oily sticky substance on the front and back is there a way to remove this or is in something that should be there

I have a model #24416 DA-LITE UTB Contour Fixed Frame 96"w x 60"h with a blue Sharpie pen marker about the size of a quarter in the upper left corner. ls there any remedy for that? Installed new in March 2017.

sharpie usually comes off with rubbing alcohol but I don't know if that liquid is compatible with cleaning your particular screen

There would not be any harm in trying these cleaning methods, but the black sharpie has most likely become a permanent part of the screen surface if it is one of our fiberglass or vinyl based screen materials covered in this video. The only surface we offer where sharpie can potentially be removed is our IDEA Screen material that is a combination projection and dry erase surface.

I have mold that’s imbedded all over my screen. its been there for about a year and a half. Does anyone have a recommendation for cleaning these tough stains? I've tried mild dish soap, It's a last ditch effort to save the screen.

Windex glass cleaner works best for me to remove sticky deposits that develop on the older style fast folds.
