I completely understand I too “engineer” my journals. Not on purpose, they just evolve this way!! I too, was an engineer major in my bachelors degree ! However I changed to primary education for my masters degree. Just brilliant interactive journal with lots of writing space as well. Adding my textiles ( finally ) has made a world of difference. Thank you for sharing all of your inspiration. Because of your gorgeous journals it sort of gave me permission as I spent 23 years collecting and sharing these items makes more sense than having them in my cedar chest ! I’m still not begun using my antique French lace yet. I’d be willing to hear your thoughts?? I know you do. Also, do you ever worry about using something antique and regretting it. Lastly I promise - do you dye your lace ( I have some wonderful white laces and would love to dye some a “baby sky blue” as it’s so hard for me to find blue in antique or vintage soft laces. )

I re-trained as a Primary School teacher too, so I'm thinking "great minds think alike" 😆
I collect things that I love (slightly obsessively) and once I reach a point of "having enough" (quite a lot!) then I feel ok with sharing small amounts. I haven't regretted parting with anything yet 😃
I suggest experimenting with blueberries 🫐 to dye your laces a very pale blue. Fruit/vegetables dyes have the softest result. I tried fabric dye and even diluted it, but the result was too vibrant for me.

Thanks so much for watching and commenting Anna 🥰 my inspiration mainly comes from collecting and arranging things in my craftroom like a magpie (bird). I also like to sew unusual things onto journal covers and take every opportunity to weave 😆 I also love to rummage in my stash and usually find things that coordinate and go from there 🌼 I have a lot of creative energy and can achieve a lot when I get into the flow, so time feels mostly irrelevant, however if I had to time the process it usually takes me 3 × 6 hr days from start to very end 😀
