Update about 15 months later: The enclosure is still going strong! It flawlessly survived a couple of hot New York summers, and a very cold winter. When I re-opened the box there weren't any signs of previous water infiltration (let alone insects, etc.) and everything looked exactly as it did when I mounted it on the wall. The enclosure is still in the same spot, but I changed out the computer and added a PoE switch for a new project/video: DATA GRAVE ⚰ Underground Backup Servers ( th-cam.com/video/9hDbz1XfpUM/w-d-xo.html ) The enclosure and old setup are featured in that video if you want to see for yourself how it held up! :)
Just stumbled on this, and I love it! Thanks!! I'm super new to planning and organizing enclosures, so I really appreciate how you talked through your decision making and showed yourself making even the simple connections!
This was neat to watch. I'm curious on why you'd need a pc mounted to the outside of your house though...I mean it's rad as fuck but still trying to figure out the purpose. 🤔
You might already know this - but that random "flex guru" power supply does have an FSP group logo, FSP is a big OEM very similar in reputation to Seasonic
Good stuff here mate, just one question. I am planning to do a similar install, but here right now is winter and the temp is going down everyday. Do you have any experience with cold weather and humidity control, condensation, etc. I would highly appreciate your advice and thoughts on the matter. Thank in advance!
I just need a desktop computer for my telescope because I want to reduce my reliance on USB hubs and have dedicated USB controllers for my astronomy cameras.

I totally get it. Guild the Lily as Eevblog would say!
I dig your workbench and the tech rack you got back there.
Scott, next time just put the box in the sun or in a hot tube...! it will easily open. Thank you for the fun video.
Not really a fan of the mounting and how it was built but I respect the plan.
I like the way you present your projects

There are so called PicoPSUs which should be smaller and take direct 12V in... I am running similar hardware..
There's a pretty loud tone at ~15khz through most of the video. Still a great video through.
Wait another vid ? Awesome
Next step: Setup LetsEncrypt for SSL :)
I can’t open the box
