I just felt that Brazil seemed to act as if they were entitled to the Cup all the way through. Even watching the PKs if felt as if Brazil just acted as if the goal was just going to open up and swallow their kicks. Croatia was much more hungry.
I dont like they cried.
brazil was drinking there own koolade and when that happens it normally ends badly. its better for other to praise you than you to become your own self praise and brazil thought they were too good because , afterall, they have only been playing sub par teams in south america and the european teams are just much better.
who did Brazil actually beat? south korea; come on now, serbia; not a good team, and tunisia ; nothing to talk about. now, they have faced an actual team and they were struggling to come to grips that they were not going to do as they please and when that reality struck they panicked ... I knew they would have been beaten in the quarter finals regardless of who they played and they were. what they should do now is go practice that dancing they did against south korea with the coach
this has been the case in the last World Cup, and that is why I knew they wouldn't take it home. Everyone always picks Brazil as the safe choice.
I have a different opinion. Brazil made only one mistake at the entire game that allowed a counter attack which resulted in Croatia goal. I felt like the players were devastated and lost all the confidence for the PK’s. But the future is bright for Brazil. Besides Neymar and Thiago Silva it’s a young and talented team. Can’t wait to watch Vini JR lead this team in 2026 WC.

Unfortunately the referee conceded a non-existant penalty (which I doubt would have awarded if it had happened on the argentinian side of the field) that changed the story. I'm convinced without that penalty, we would have witnessed another upset and another France vs Croatia final.

@@Username-mn7pc Croatia was controlling the match just like they did with Brazil until they weren't awarded a goal kick and instead a counter attack resulted in a conceded penalty that only the referee saw. It was pretty clear that the whole tournament was rigged.

I am sure you know the American viewership of the World Cup has fallen since the US teams loss in the knockout round. A lot of us Americans were watching the World Cup because of “national pride that’s it a lot of Americans could care less about soccer. Don’t call it football. It is a very much niche sport here in the US with true soccer fans being mostly people from other countries, that immigrated where soccer was the main sport. Mind you there are American soccer fans, but they are a lot less than one would think. Most Americans congregate to the major American sports being football basketball and baseball. Because of the evolution of basketball and football baseball’s actually seeing a drop in viewership as well, but because it was known at one point as the American pastime, there’s still a significant amount of viewership in baseball

Soccer is such a flawed sport. Constant headline: “Brazil played better….but lost”
It usually means they were the better attacking team, but defence is half of the game. It just isn't as appreciated as the attack

Back in the 80s my Spanish friends in college won the intramural league in a penalty shootout that was very intense. They gave the goal keeper the MVP. You gotta have great goalkeeping in a sport that has limited scoring. Brazils was obviously soft. It really shouldn’t surprise us that a Balkan country is more mentally tough than the debauched Brazilians.
People keep calling Croatia underdogs after all we have done in soccer tournaments from our independance.....beyond me.

I think it was about the total disrespect of the Brazil snowflake stars by the Croatian team. Someone should have explained to those Croats that Brazil is the team destined to win this World Cup.
