Colette, this is an overdue note of appreciation. You bring so much comfort to my heart and soul with your timely videos. I first found your channel several years ago at a time when I could barely get through a day without a cry. At that time you posted several times a week and with each new video you planted sweet seeds in me that over time started to grow. You encouraged me to get out into my gardens and get to work (in your lovely indirect way). I wish you could see the benefits of your special messages today. I am happier, more fit, and have the most glorious gardens full of bird and bee treats. My love and I both thank you.
This is such a beautiful story! And much like mine. I’m longing intensely for being closer to mother Earth and hopefully will have a garden or a small piece of land in the near future.

My maternal grandfather, born in 1902, never used a clock. He always worked and moved about by the light. He farmed a small plot of land with mules. Although he wold be called a subsistance farmer, he always had enough of what he needed.
"Subsistence farmer"...your maternal grandfather was on to something! In today's time, to many people want more...more...and more! Yet still are not satisfied with what they have and want to out do others (aka keeping up with the Jones!). I am content with my life.
Love the robin. There's one in my garden I'm friends with, we have great chats when I'm working away. He likes to supervise things 😊

Water is such a strange yet essential element. No wonder we stop and ponder when we see a river or a pond or the sea.
To all commenters who feel great sadness and are overwhelmed by the new normal in our society. Don't let the false narratives being spread get you down or allow the media to purposely install fear into your souls. God gave each and everyone of us human beings gifts that allow us to create positive realities, create a world of love peace and compassion for all life he has created. Humanity must get into the headspace that Colette is in and spreading that positive energy around the planet will magically start changing things for the better. Many won't understand how this could be but if they have faith in those who do know of these gifts and follow suit we will change the wrongs being done to God's children. Amen

Despite being on the cusp of winter's cold, I really love this time of year, particularly the long shadows and the carpet of rust-colored leaves scattered on the ground. The soft watercolor effect of a Lavender spray in the mist of the forest looks so gently magical. Jack at the beginning of video looks like he's communicating with the Morning Spirits in the Woods.

We should all be allowed to live like this in tune with surroundings and nature, not the dog eat dog society that many sadly have to endure on a day to day basis
I am getting to know my land now, going into my second winter here. I have a natural stream, several, but this fall/winter has been extremely wet, so quite close to the house this stream is really showing. I should really dig a trench, It would make a wonderful water feature. Too late now, we have frost in the ground, but a project for the spring. I have water plants there, as I know it is a wet area. First time though it is water on the surface. Thank you for another calming video, I get so much ideas from your experences.

So happy to hear from you again. It’s been a busy autumn here in the gardens, spreading compost and gathering wood to make small scale hugelkulturs; really readying the soil for the coming spring. The moss covered trees are truly ethereal. It almost looks as if someone gently laid it on with a soft, gentle brush stroke. The ferns that peak from the forest floor are absolutely beautiful. There’s something so magical about how they freckle the ground so perfectly. I love that you mention living off the light. Since I’ve started actively doing so, I’ve felt a huge shift in mind set and, personally, a reduction in anxiety. You also speak of knowing your land and I think that is truly a characteristic of the guardians of the land. I’ve noticed it’s important to foster that connection as I feel it helps me know what areas of my land need me the most that given day. Additionally, there’s a certain joy in befriending the land and finding accompaniment in its presence.
May your blessings outnumber the trees at Bealtaine Cottage. Green blessings to you and Jack

I am planning to purchase your calendar as a Christmas present to myself.
Slowly I’m creating small areas of greenery, fruit trees, veggies and forestry on my acre in the desert God willing I will be successful. Trying to cut a pond for Nic and Knack my Pekin ducks. I will investigate all permaculture could work in my environment.
Fascinating waterscape, the young yew tree is doing well. So many place names in England relate to water and types of water and times of year e.g. Winterbourne I am wondering if are there equivalents in Ireland?

Your mention of not digging the brambles had me wondering how the area you cut back this summer is doing, and the little trees in that area. It's amazing how the pond looks now just since spring, what's the tree by the pond with those beautiful red berries.?!

I wonder if water hyacinths would grow in Ireland. This week, I noticed that a stray plant had sprung up in a pot of green onions growing indoors. Then one day there was a flower on it, and it was a morning glory, and more to come. I have some ferns that seem to be sterile. They die out every year without ever producing any spores.
