TAMEKA JACKSON PERFORMS "LIVE" AS JANET JACKSON ON STARS IN THEIR EYES IN 1991

- In 1991 Tameka was approached by scouts from the UK program "Stars In Their Eyes". She was chosen because she looked and sounded like Janet Jackson. Her performance of "Rhythm Nation" involved intricate and precise dance moves. Along with 10-12 dancers Tameka "wow'd" the crowd with her amazing performance. The spot on this show lead to Tameka being the UK's number 1 tribute to Janet. This took her all over the world. In the mid 90's Janet picked Tameka to stand in for her and promote Pepsi's "Ask For More" promotion. This took place in Germany along side her personal dancers, make-up artists, PA's, etc.

@jsand12 .... Tameka said the best part of her experience was working with the choreographer and all the dancers. She loved it. It was also the "kick off" to her many years as the UK's number one tribute to Janet. So doesn't maintain any contact with anyone but has had a couple on line chats with Daren (aka Mick Hucknall). I asked her if she'd do it again...she actually said "No" because she couldn't fit it into her hectic schedule. Thanks jsand12! :)
@jsand12 ...check out my other videos of Tameka (I have posted). She's done a lot since her "Stars..." days. She's also the singer for the group CONTROL. They had a hit in the early 90's called "Dance With Me (I'm Your Ecstasy)". They have their latest single out by the end of the month called "Cry" (6 mixes) on iTunes. :)
@MJLOYALTOTHEROYAL She really is the best! Janet actually saw a video performance of Tameka (years ago)and wanted her to represent her in Germany for Pepsi. She did, and worked closely with Janet's make up artists, dancers, etc... Tameka was the official number one Janet Tribute and was successful doing it for 15 years. She actually now pays tribute to Diana Ross. **I'll see if I can find any other videos. Watch this space**
