Gonna edit my comment bc I saw this before the backstory and thought it was a bunch of pointless edgy stuff. Considering the amount of time you can before this its really good, hoping that future episodes are as cinematically pleasing.
Yknow, the interesting part is that, like most people probably noticed, The Authority and Marui are similar in many ways, and both are in the wrong. The Authority, going off Marui’s information and the other videos that we have seen, the Authority is a cruel, heartless dictator that abuses and puts down the people she works with. However, Marui, working under her before being fired, responded by massacring most likely hundreds, maybe thousands, just trying to get her attention, to fight and most likely kill her. And, they are very similar. Just like how the director is cruel and heartless by abusing, killing, and other things to her underlings, so is Marui cruel and heartless by killing unarmed and friendly people, torturing a kid, threatening her allies, and killing all in her path for revenge. So, in the end, no matter who wins, is it really a good ending? -Guy who spent 15 minutes writing a mock philosophical comment
one thing i dont like is how in isle you're supposed to be trying to desperately live and escape the island with guns being scarce and pretty rare to be used but in the series it just gets straight to shooting and action
