Enjoyed this very much. And I just last week finished reading the Roger Corman book he mentioned - it's called "How I Made a Hundred Movies in Hollywood and Never Lost a Dime," which was a pretty good read.

I applaud you folks that enter into this world of film making. I put it right up there with panning for gold. Very difficult road to making a living with no guarantees......yet living a dream.

Same. Christopher Nolan or Robert Eggers. They're like kindred spirits, creatively--though obviously very different sides of the sort of work I create (books & comics).

On Brad's website, the thumbnail of Rob Thomas and the white line he talks about at 12:38 isn't there (anymore); you'll have to watch the video to see the effect, and, well, hat's off to him. It's these little brilliant moves that make the creative process so engaging. You become a problem solver whenever you put on a leadership cap on any given set-cinematographer, producer, production designer, director, etc. Thanks for uploading this episode.

ummm.... I would DEFINITELY know if something is shot on an iPhone lol
    Also,
with the 'democraticisation' of film . it's made things waaaaaay harder. it's made things far more competitive. I hate this talking point. Cos now I see heaps of great stuff being made and it gets .... 1 like lol.
all that's left is noise now. and sadly people are using identity to try and get above the noise.
also... u cant jump online lol. no one wants to help anyone else. atleast not in Australia where I live. Everyone wants to be the boss.
why does no one 'check' these common misconception talking points ??

You took the words right out of my mouth. I live in LA, yes you can make it but it will always be who you know. They don't talk about how closed off Hollywood is. Marketing plays a huge part, investing, the quality of sound etc.. They need to stop using these talking points. It is more than just making a iphone movie!
