- Fascinating conversation with Margaret Thatcher - her admiration of Michael Faraday, poems, royal sketchbook, recipes, buildings she likes the most, historical heroes.
Love or loathe Maggie, there's no way Britain would be in the mess it's in today, we're she still leading the country
I could listen to her all day.
My sentiment exactly!
Me too. Such a delight to listen to.
For a woman who was the Iron Lady and very stern she sure had a very soothing voice and could speak so well about history
Margareth thatcher was a towering figure either in england or in the world. Great speaker, she always spoke her mind.she fought every single day of her splendid life and lived according to her principles.for this reason she paid a high price . She made england great again authoritative in europe as well as in the world. The only thing that defeated her was a friendly fire...
one of my favourite leader who pushed conservatives on a height. one of the BEST PM in my eye of Britain. The Iron lady of the world ❤️❤️
I had the pleasure to meet her once - she was charming, friendly and witty.
Did you really - how
How’d you meet her
Lucky you!
Hang on! You met Maggie!? I’m not Sherlock homes but I was born in 71. It really begs the question under what circumstances.
Right I’ve got it Maggie. I’ll try that one. Bovril. Chicken bovril was really nice. I’m not having it Margeret I’m having marmite
One truly remarkably formidable lady!
Amazing woman 😍. I was too young to appreciate her, but looking back she was formidable.
She speaks so beautifully.
This is simply great! Lovely to listen to her, so relaxed and talkative. Thank you!
It really is🥰😍
Remarkable that the interviewer says that decorating is mindless!
A role model for a true strong woman. Faced many hurdles, but never blamed her gender, even though she did faced sexism.
What a truly remarkable woman
Fascinating interview. You can see Thatcher's own background as a scientist shine through
I could listen to her talk for hours. Thanks for uploading.
I love this interview! Shows her interests and views on a more personal level
How British politics and society have deteriorated since Margaret.
Russell Harty a remarkable interviewer.
Poached egg and Bovril toast!? Wow, she was a truly unique PM
I don't think it's shocking that she admired Faraday. She was a scientist by training.
I thought she would choose Hitler
@@MB-pe1dw 🤨
@@MB-pe1dw …shows how dumb your world view is if you compare her to Hitler. See how well you’d have done under Nazi rule.
@@MB-pe1dw ???
@@MB-pe1dwyou kidding? She openly despised Germany and never forgave them for their Nazi past. Thatcher was no racist.
This is such a treasure trove. Thank you so much ❤️
A warrior in a woman's body!
Shame she was fighting for the elites and the banksters against the people.
Lovely conversation.
I adore her
Poor Russell Harty only had a year of life left to him in this footage.
🥺🥺🥺
She was perfect!
Its very interesting how perceptions of age have changed so much in the 40 years or so since this interview. They discuss 60 being old. Keir Starmer is 62 this year and nobody has said anything about his age.
What a delight! Thanks so much for this.
Oh how much Great Britain has fallen since she stopped being Prime Minister !!!
she could express herself so well and eloquently.
She is speaking as if she's in a musical.
She had a very idiosyncratic style of speech. I suspect some of it had to do with the extensive voice coaching she got when she became leader of the opposition to lower her voice and slow down her speech.
@@zeddeka Good advice for women. Especially American women with their baby girl voices.
@@Frip36 Hillary should have taken lessons.
@@zeddeka untrue, she didn't get voice coaching
@@chester6343 It's common knowledge she had voice training you only need to listen to her early 1980s interviews and late 1980s interviews to hear the difference.
I still have a voice recording of myself from 30 years ago and I sound exactly the same.
My favorite woman
Watching these while high is so comfy
Blimey, I never thought I’d say this, but I miss her take on things. What would she think of today’s wokeness. 🇬🇧
Totally agree with you. I wonder what she would have thought of Britain today. I miss her
@@jenniferjones188 She would call it finished and beyond help!
Ha. I doubt she'd know what it is. "Woke" is slang from black American youth.
If it was 1987 she would have been at least 61.
It was recorded in early January 1987.
@@MatgoStyles In that case she would have been 61, not 60.
@dlk1dlk1 I'm pretty sure saying turning 60 is being used as shorthand for being in her 60s, given she hadn't been in her 60s for long.
Maybe Mr. Russell Harty being polite.
6:06 "I've never been to Latin America. I have been to Mexico ... but I have not yet been to Latin America ..." ???????????????
Technically Mexico is not part of Latin America but Central America.
@@dlk1dlk1 Oh, goodness, you're mistaking culture and background with GEOGRAPHY. What does it matter whether they are in Central or South America? If the country speaks Spanish or Portuguese and is in the Americas, it's a Latin American country.
@@blastfromthepast7005 No, you're mistaking Geography with culture. Of course they are all Latin countries but Latin America actually refers to South America.

@@dlk1dlk1 th-cam.com/video/g156k99aCgY/w-d-xo.html And that brings the matter to a close.
0:43 it's PREMIERSHIP
Going on about when you have children of your own ... to Russell Harty! Did she know he was gay?
Delightful!
Those porcelain sculptures are hideous. Look like something you used to see advertised in the back of Sunday papers.
Charity shop tat....Glad she got bad taste like my Nan who kept porcelain horses...Dunno why.?? She never rode one...miss her funny ways....Born 1899....Died 2000....Saw 3 centurys...
@@richardloring7545there is no such thing as ' bad taste' only 'taste'. Thing about it, who decides what is good or bad?
But she described it beutifully
Random question but where is MT’s famous ring that she always wore in this program?
You're right! Not very often she didn't wear it!
What a joy. Ms Thatcher was a saint to the rich.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
PERFECT
Mother + Me

That Was Awfully Trite
Thanks to Thatcher we now have Tories even more revolting than she was
