Asami is a really well-written character without seeming too bossy. She has both her strengths and her weaknesses, for example because she is a non-bender, she is at a disadvantage compared to tamers, but that doesn't mean that she is defenseless. Overall she comes across as cool and strong but can also show emotions, something you don't really see in many of today's female characters. Asami is one of the female (whether cartoon/anime/series etc.) characters where today's authors should take an example of how a good female character is written. In addition, Asami is able to get herself out of difficult situations or to find her own solutions smart enough. Even if she didn't seem like that at the beginning, she, like the others, underwent character development over the course of the series, just in her own way
