That's an Indian kilm on the side of the Hill the old-timers would build those for testing ore samples

A lot of that looks like it was stoped to the grass roots. Some nice looking quartz still around.

I was there in November 2009. The ore bin was still standing then. I have no idea why a small baking oven (?) is on the hill side. We explored the main adit too. There was no fence around it then. I see the shaft has somewhat collapsed since. Did you see the concrete slabs of buildings down on the 'flats' below? We didn't have time to explore the mines higher up in the canyon so your explore there is welcomed.

Part of the challenge is figuring out these places for ourselves. I'm surprised the OP even mentioned the freeway. If he reveals exactly where the site is I will promise you that idiots will camp there and destroy everything, the land owner will be forced to put up more fences and signs and eventually the BM will "mitigate" the mine, closing off all entrances and bulldozing any structures or machinery along with billing the land owner for the cleanup.

Where did the desert mines late 1800's early 1900's get their water into such isolated areas to be able to process what they were mining for?

Obviously an old mine as the workings go off in dogholes in all directions. Often veins split up into what the miners called mares tails and they just had to chase them..

To make things more interesting, it has to be educational. What rock types and structural influences contributed to mineral deposition. How in the first instance, what and how influenced someone to punch a hole into the rock.

I own a very large mining claim and people coming into it without any regard is trespassing, if these same people are killed or injured they will sue my family and probably win in court. @@Makeitliquidfast "Patented" land?? 🤔 How is it possible to get a patent for a plot of land, ese? I just now nodded off while I was in the middle of typing that snarky remark, so I'm just typing to test this shit out and hopefully I'll have an easier time typing when I wake up, which I'm in the process of doing right now and when I'm finished spanking it (your ass, that is..), I'll probably go ahead and hand it to you via smarmy shit I've thinking up in response to the ridiculous bonehead idea of patenting land - like, you came up with a great idea for land, and you executed the idea but can't deal with the idea of some Johnny come lately swooping in and stealing your land idea for his (ummm, or her - I ought not assume that some person who is all about taking someone's land idea would be an XY, like
