I love, love, love this trailer. My husband and I are retired. This is exactly what we've been looking for. The only thing I'd love to see added is a kitchen faucet with a pull down sprayer.
Not a bad looking unit. It looks like a lot of storage space is lost to plumbing. At least the plumbing in my X 195 is not a spider web like that unit. Useable storage is very important in a small trailer for camping more than one night.
I hope you all upload some off road if footage with this rig! Seems like such a long time since you all took the rigs out for the type of crazy off road adventure you all are known for! Would love to see you all take some of the older models you all used to sell on a more extreme trip.
The trailer seemed decent many respencts, but considering a few details, I would be concerned that it may be kind of half-baked and at risk of being another Black Series repeat. A few specifics: 1. MDC trailers are now made in China (moved manufacturing from Australia to China in 2019). 2. Although the full specs aren't clearly defined in the video, it appears that the 65 amp rated MPPT solar charge controller may be undersized for 1225-1825 watts of connected solar panels (1225 watts / 12 volts = 102 amps, 1825 amps / 12 volts = 152 amps). That would restrict the charging rate from the solar panels to much less than their rated capacity. 3. All of the pipes/hoses/pex right out in the middle of the under-sink kitchen cabinet and in the bottom part of the bathroom cabinet severely restricts the usability of those cabinet areas. Why wouldn't those be positioned closer to the sides and/or rear? 4. Both the fresh water and grey water tanks are undersized. 4. Unlike the competing Palomino Pause Reboot, there is no air bag suspension. On the other hand, I do like the size of the shower.
All US RV manufactures place the plumbing supply lines anywhere anywhere it falls. They’re usually hap hazard with half the cabinet blanked off because they’ve got the pipes routed crazy in there. I’ve freed up double the cabinet space in my new base camp trailer by taking the blanking panels off and moving some of the supply lines and furnace ducts around.
So I'm still a bit confused what this is missing to be true 4 seasons. Are the tanks not enclosed and ducted with heat? Is it the insulation factor? What are some of the limits there?
Fantastic!! Thank you Shane!! Please some questions: -Are the tanks heated? -Can a Starlink and Onan or other propane generator be installed with permanemt electrical and plumbed for the gas? -Admittedly unusual, have you run across any folks who have built a faraday cage of some sort of EMF dampening around the battery bays and other wiring cabinets as to lessen the impact on the body for sleep?
Please open an experience center in the Indianapolis area. It’s also close to the Pause factory. I love that you’ve started carrying mid priced trailers like MDC. I’m super impressed with what they produce.
The styling looks much better. The old "loud" graphics just made it look cheap. I'm still waiting on a 2X single / king convertible bed or a bunk-only model. Not all campers are husband/wife and want to rub legs at night.
Shane, with a 3,000 watt inverter, can you also run the microwave offgrid? Also, can you run both the air conditioner and the microwave at the same time? Thanks, I'm looking forward to the full video!
Yes! Absolutely can run the A/C off-Grid! Yes you can run the Microwave off Grid! We will have to do testing on both. Usually, we don’t recommend running at the same time.
Hi Shane, Really nice.. reminds me of the Imperial x195 except it is better OVERALL. but for that ugly glossy gray yuck How about a nice warm woodgrain finish like what you have on the counter and table, along with those white walls and black appliances.. That would look much better than that ugly gray... LOL! Safe Travels Shane. 🙂
@@freedomlineman3105the dumb thing with cassettes imo is u still gotta go hook up the sewer hose to dump the grey! 😵💫, n to simply pull the black tank lever first is a lot less work than hauling out a 5gal heavy full cassette dragging it over n dumping it via kneeling down beside the hole 🤢. Yeah no cassettes for me ever! Make work project imo, n I ain't a spring chicken anymore, keep it simple. 🍻
You'd be missing out on a lot if the step is your determining utility. The step is solid. It can be easily pulled out with your foot, and it's intended to be low profile for off-road use. I'm sure you could attach any steps you wanted to the full tubular hot dipped galvanized frame to gain access to the inside and walk on the 100% honeycomb composite floor. Keep looking, I'm sure you'll like the other 99% off this van.
🎊 Any options for coming indoors other than STRAIGHT INTO THE BEDROOM?!? (The bathroom side would be more considerate.) What about deleting the outdoor kitchen? In Alaska nobody wants to cook with a gazillion mosquito “sous chef’s.” Also, instead of using cheap white styrofoam (which absorbs condensation) 3” “blue board” would insulate to -40°F and 120°F. With climate change getting worse every year, quality insulation will pay for itself whether you live in the Arctic or in Arizona. Finally, camping in a tent will allow you to “experience” your environment…camping in a super insulated off-grid vehicle will allow you to AVOID/ESCAPE your extreme environment and replace it with the safety, security, and serenity of a “civilized” atmosphere in an otherwise “hostile” environment. Just trying to pass on some real world experience from someone who’s lived in Alaska for 57 years and quite a few in Arizona, also. (Almost forgot…airbags, man; airbag suspensions.)
To fulfill most your requirements would be to consider the Imperial Outdoors Xplore X195 or the Pause Reboot RE19.4 off-grid trailers instead. ROA sells both with various customizable options. I'm not on their sales team, I'm just a 55 year-old avid watcher of their videos. By the time I can afford any off-road trailer they sell, there will be tons of upgraded features that will allow me to travel comfortably in all 4-seasons during my retirement.
@ Thank you for your feedback. I’ve been looking at what the Aussies are offering, also. (And their exchange rate is waaay more favorable, for price comparison.) Some units are designed for 50°C; which is 120°F. So, in my mind, once your little cocoon is impervious to the elements, everything else is just creature comforts. In a perfect World, all I’d need is 3-6” of urethane foam insulating my bubble, a mini-split for heat & A/C, and a convection microwave. (A bathroom is a given.)
2 fans is on point! ❤
I love, love, love this trailer. My husband and I are retired. This is exactly what we've been looking for. The only thing I'd love to see added is a kitchen faucet with a pull down sprayer.
We’ve done that mod in other MDCs so I’m sure it’s possible!
Wow! What a spectacular rig! I could live out my life in this trailer. It looks like a road trip to Mesa to see this rig and my grandson at GCU.
Come to the grand opening this weekend! It’s going to be awesome :)
Boy. I sure hope you got as excited on your wedding night! 😂 Seriously though, beautiful trailer.
Love it! Wish the bed could be a Murphy bed converts to more seating.
IF they did the Murphy bed right, that would be cool.
My 1987 Avion had a Dometic 12,120 & Propane fridge in it that came in the trailer in 1987 that worked perfect.
Great camper! Seen it in person in Vegas at RVDA. Absolutely AMAZING 😮😮😮😮!
The camper looks awesome!! MDC really gets it. You can see how much they care about the US market. Love the Renogy components!!
this looks so good! The Aussies sure know how to make a solid quality trailer.
.....it's made in china

Love love love. Put me washer/dryer combo, I would sell everything & live in it fulltime!!
12:25 Australia most definitely sees below freezing temperatures. They even have snow.
I love it just as it is
What a great looking rig
❤it. MDC is the best of the best!
❤Love it!!!
More to come!

Shane and the crew are out right now getting some off road testing done! Footage coming soon 👌
Any idea what the insulation is rated?

@@pytheus any studies on EMF output of the battery banks? Was curious about this looking at sailboats because I’ve seen a lot of installs under a bed

Price?
I found the MSRP posted to be $120,000.
This might be the one for us.
Has pricing been decided yet? Great set up. Definitely checks a lot of boxes.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ congratulations 🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊😊😊
I like how you are whispering when looking at the batteries lol. Don't wake em up!

The Renogy system is acceptable. Would love to see a 48v victron system but that would be another 10k. Love most everything about this camper.
The price and the weight to the trailer gross vehicle weight would’ve been nice
Still waiting for some toyhauler variant where you can actually do the customization yourself
Black appearance package and graphics much more appealing. What about towing?
I figure he will give that info when he does the full technical walk thru
Thanks! We have been towing it all this week with a F150. 4door short bed.
No MSRP
It over 25,000 if is not worth the money

Why can’t we just have a 30 gallon black tank?? That’s what Americans are used too
Cassette is much better for off-grid.
@ How so? Do you just dump it on the ground when no one is looking?? Hahahaha

Yep cassette toilet is a deal breaker for me. When boondocking, where you gonna dump that cassette toilet?
That’s a younger man’s trailer. Old guys get up three times a night to pee and I think getting in and out of that bed would suck.
If they can’t put good steps in then not worth looking any further.
