We can see the great difference when Marisa was sick on the bike and when she was well commenting the journey from the comfort of the sofa. Sick, no petrol, no foods and drinks along the way, unpredicted weather, bad roads, jungle, all these scares the daylight out of me. Finally you reached Keningau that’s where my only daughter works. She is with Keningau general hospital and we are from Selangor. Looking forward to your next trip, next adventure. God bless.
Shout out to Melissa all the way from KK🙌 why didn't take medicine? Just head to any of the clinic to see doctor and get medicine at the same time. No appointment needed. Unlike in the US. The cost also a token of USD! It is painful to see her suffered like this. Always buy some paracetamol and antibiotics from pharmacy / chemist in Malaysia without any doctor prescription. Every pharmacy in Malaysia has a licensed pharmacist to offer general sickness medicine. This is crucial when you are on a bike trip. Take care and see you guys back to Borneo soon.❤
Thanks for the shout out!! We do have some antibiotics, but we don't like to be too dependent on them or they may not work as effectively when we really need them. Thankfully I am feeling much better and we can't thank you enough for the kind words and for riding along with us!
I’m enjoying this video! Brings back a lot of memories. Right after pandemic restrictions lifted, I also did a loop around Sabah and against other advice to instead fly from Tawau to KK, found the single van transport using the Kalabakan road to Keningau. My life changed after that and met the love of my life. Happy journeys!

In Indonesia there is a ship that has the same name as Marisa, namely KMP.MARISA NUSANTARA The ship is a roro type owned by PT. JEMBATAN NUSANTARA. The ship is now sailing on the KETAPANG-LEMBAR route
@@2UpAndOverloaded yes and you should know that in Indonesia there are many large ferries which are very luxurious and can even carry hundreds of large trucks, the ships are DHARMA RUCITRA 1, 7, 8, and 9(The ship you take when heading to Kalimantan is DHARMA RUCITRA 9) then there is DHARMA FERRY 5 and 7 then there is DHARMA KENCANA 5 and 7 then there is DHARMA KARTIKA 2, 5, 7, and 9, all the ferries can carry tens to hundreds of large trucks and their interiors are very comfortable, some of them are even like the Royal Caribbean cruise ship

Through such road after kalabakan to Nabawan you would be able to find gas station. If you will, you will be de tour to the Maliau Basin where The Lost World of Borneo are. And yes you are crossing the vast Forest Reserve and sometimes First Class Forest Reserve like Nurod-Urod forest reserve. The vast part are commersial forest reserve where logging goes on on assigned patches where forest has recovered from previous logging. Reduced Impact Logging was employed and some logging may have been the third or fourth cycle. About the same experience if you cross easting from Nabawan to Telupid then you can tell the world how Sabah especially adhere to her intention to kept intact more 50% of land mass forested
Sabah is a wonderful part of the world to explore on two wheels. We are glad that there are still untouched parts that act as a home to many wonderful animals and wildlife.

Im glad the bumps and heat didnt make your water bottles explode with the gas in them! Good idea to get them emptied when you could Tim. You know, I've been thinking about how amazing it could be to join you for the Borneo tour but there's one show stopper I've settled on. If we could manage the cost, take the time, and deal with riding slow, there's still riding on the left. And with my entrained reactions I could easily kill us both by darting right at a sudden obstacle. And that might be bad for the trip!
We will provide you with a free Post-It note that says "Keep Left ⬅️" that you can mount on your windshield! But in all seriousness, you get pretty used to it real quick. And on motorcycles it is much easier to dodge potholes and obstacles while maintaining your lane. We would love to have you along, but are just as thankful to have you along for the ride here on TH-cam. Thanks for all of the support throughout the years!
@@2UpAndOverloaded We love you guys, would love to meet you in person and would love to ride with you sometime. You kinda have to go riding with someone to know how compatible you are. There's always been difficulty finding compatible riding buddies. I'm not tolerant of whiners and those who don't take it seriously. I can't deal with large group rides because most people are slow and unskilled. And it's not just me unhappy with them, they're unhappy with their perception of me being some kind of maniac. All that to say yeah you can wait up for people now and then to catch up and make sure they're still okay but it's not the same as riding with someone close to your own skill level. My body is making decisions and reacting before getting the okay from my thought process. Which is good because if I had to wait to think what to do when something pops up, like when the bear jumped in front of me at 85mph on the dirt or street riding at night and the bike suddenly started sliding sideways, I'd be dead or maimed long ago. That's why I know better than to ride anywhere where the rule is keep left. My wife is always charmed and compliments you guys every time she hears your song " hey everyone nice to have you here...". It's definitely endearing. Our son grew up writing and performing his own music. We built a recording studio in our house for him to play and record songs. I'd be behind the glass in the control booth with the computer laying down the tracks, playing what he already recorded as he added another instrument. Then I'd process it, mix it all down and burn CDs to listen to. I miss those days but he's about Tim's age now raising his own boys and we do other cool things together. I'm actually at his place building a shop, putting in a new electric service, etc now. I brought a couple small motorbikes to ride some with the grandkids. He has a kindergartner showing an impressive amount of riding skill. I don't know if I'll still be riding when he gets his license but if I am then perhaps we'll go on a trip together. Anyway, that's s little about us. You two stay blessed with happiness and success!

Hi Tim and Marisa, glad to see both of you came all the way from Chicago to my hometown of Tawau, as I myself was travelling all the way to visit your beautiful Chicago (I was studying in a small college in Valparaiso, North West Indiana for 4 years). Do post your blog again if you guys are coming back to Tawau for a visit again, so that I can meet up with both of you at Tawau in the near future.
Dont underestimate tropical fever. We normally worried about dengue or malaria fever and both are deadly. Dengue would be town fever where malaria belongs to the jungle. Go to nearest clinic or pharmacy. Take a good care both of you
enjoyed this but a bit freaked out by the bottles you used for gasoline. Be really careful doing that. There is a reason in the U.S. it is illegal to put gasoline in a container not designed for it. Glad you are safe and had a good experience. As always peace from Connecticut.
1 mistake. In tawau, go to a pharmacy , grab a few medication for flu and fever and off you go. Those are over the counter stuff. No prescription required.

Absolutely it is! You would have an equally incredible time on 4 wheels! Plus you would have A/C and stay dry!

@2UpAndOverloaded between April to May, many international tourists will visit kinabatangan River to spot the pygmy elephants. The degree of success is high during hot season compared to monsoon wet season (end of the year)

@@imjuzsayin..5017 Benar. Mana mungkin merdeka tahun 1945, tetapi masih berperang dgn Penjajah hingga 1949.😇 Selepas berjanji akan bayar ufti kepada Belanda setiap tahun sehingga tahun 2001, baru lah Belanda beri kemerdekaan🫡🫡
