    I boxed for 14 years and wrestled for 8 and couldn’t imagine using that to intimidate someone. I try verbal de-escalation always. When I was in my mid 20s over 20 years ago now I saw something similar. This 6 foot 5 former grenadier guard was trying to pick on this 5 foot nothing oriental who was working as a bouncer in the pub. The small man warned him 3 times then like lightning kicked the big guy in the stomach. As the big guy doubled up he brought his elbow up in a snap attack to the head. The next thing that happened was he asked people to carry the unconsious big guy out. The small oriental guys response for how he did it.... I have been training in muay thai for 30 years since I was 5 years old.

The thing is it was her who trained the UK olympics gold medalist and current Team Aus Judo coach Sharon Jackson Judo so she tied people up and threw them out. If they caused too much problems quite litterally on the throwing them out.

      Yeah its a pretty strange thing really. Fighting is one of the only skills where people who have literally ZERO training, have complete confidence in being able to do it well. They have such a total lack of any real knowledge and understanding that they dont even realize how incompetent their ability to fight really is. I used to be like this. When I was a younger guy...I honestly believed that I knew how to fight, and I believed that I could fight exceptionally. Im 6'3" and about 210lbs, and I had been in quite a few fights on the streets growing up. My first Brazilian JiuJitsu class at age 22 was the most HUMBLING experience of my life. And my first Muay Thai class later that week was equally as humbling. I started that week off on Monday with all the confidence in the world. By Friday evening I was quite literally a "changed man". I realized that in reality, I knew absolutely NOTHING whatsoever about fighting or being a fighter. And that believing I did, and believing that I could "hold my own" against a person with several years of legitimate training, was borderline delusional.
      But I swear, I needed that experience. I really did. Martial Arts is the best thing to ever happen to me, and 17 years later, at 39, im still training, im always still learning, and ive remained humble.

      Ok - realize that BULLY BEATDOWN IS FAKE!!! Totally fake. Most of the time the "bully" and the "victim" had never met before the show. One "bully" listed the show on his resume - another "bully" was a professional stuntman.

The bullies quickly learned that I was not an easy target. I defended many other kids from bullies and I got ganged up on and got beat down myself a few times but that's the way it is with bullies. Most of the time they are just cowards without their back-up.

      Yes they are. I was once rat packed by 5 of them when I was 14, and I caught 2 of them without their butt buddies backing them, and beat the shit out of them, and told them to tell their buddies I was coming for them too. We moved before I could finish the job, but it was funny as hell to send both of them home literally crying.
      I had a younger friend who saw me beating the crap out of the one bully, and watch him run home crying; and asked me why I gave him such a nasty beating, and when I told him, he wanted to go after the guy too. I told him to leave it alone, I wanted his friends to know that I didn't need any help, and they're next.

    4:05 Well said, I've been trying to point this out for years. Multiple friends/family members fit this description, who obviously don't know much about real fighting, who say "wrestling is gay" or in striking, calling backstepping out of range "running away". But since they're a bit overweight and people are intimidated by it, they've hardly ever actually fought. I can only imagine though lol I'm just average height and I thought I was tough shit too, then I got ground and pounded after school!
    I was 14 years old, before that I had been choked out by another kid and after that (still at 14), I got on probation and went to juvy, for punching and choking out my mom's 36 year old boyfriend. In all those fights, both when I won and lost, I didn't know a thing about fighting; it was just instinct and I wasn't even a big teenager. That's why you train, because any untrained aggressor can be a serious threat; both in striking and grappling. Even if they're smaller and especially when they're larger

    • @miesvaillanykyisyytta3252
      @miesvaillanykyisyytta3252 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The older we get the less this stuff matters. If you're still getting into fights in your 30's the problem is never the lack of black belts but almost always other poor life choices. Training martial arts to make up for horrible life choices is like smearing your face with dog feces several times a week in case you slip on ice on the street one day and fall face first on dog poo that the owner neglected to pick up. You might fall on poo one day but it's unlikely and you should not obsess about it by smearing it on your face half the time. The guys who obsess about striking and grappling are like the guy who places fecal matter on his face.

      @@miesvaillanykyisyytta3252 it's healthy to excersise and training for martial arts is very good excersise. There are idiots everywhere and idiots can be violent and dangerous, life choices have nothing to do with someone else deciding to be violent. The saying is "I'd rather be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war" I would rather know and train how to fight and never need it, than need it and not be trained. It's ignorant to think that making the right life choices and being mature, will ensure that no-one ever attacks you. Not to mention training and being capable in a fight, gives you much more confidence in tense situations and can help you stay calm and avoid more fights. It's completely beneficial and claiming complete strangers are still getting into fights at 30, or that they're obsessing over fighting, is an incorrect assumption and being assaulted isn't "getting into fights" way to victim blame

    • @MusMasi
      @MusMasi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i train for fitness, and something fun to do, i avoid trouble when I can but there are dogshit people out there, but I go years without a street fight and walk away nearly all the time, but when you got one or more people running after you throwing well, yeah sometimes I just out run them and laugh when they wheeze but I do not have the patience of a saint. I am not small but I am not really tall or big visually so I have tangled with a lot of guys around taller up to the height of this bully and a lot of big guys are just big soft walking targets its funny as a lot of them are not even stronger than me even in pure strength but they are just so use to bullying people they expect you to roll over, Overhand right, leg kicks, liver kicks, body rips are some of the favorite things i like to do to them when they attack me.

    • @miesvaillanykyisyytta3252
      @miesvaillanykyisyytta3252 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stephanwatson7902 I don't necessarily disagree with you. I could have been more specific. When I said "getting into fights" I meant a condition where you are facing violent people on a regular basis and unless you are a police officer or work security I don't see how that happens unless your finances and life in general are out of control. Freak attacks can still happen but most people die of old age despite not knowing any martial arts.

Your talking bout the big guys is Spot On I've Always said they got by on intimidation alone Never had to be tested. I'm 53 now and earned my entire teen 20 n 30 yrs of lifes Reputation by fighting and beating some of these guys. If I have to say I've lost a few more than I won as a streetfighter but those fights didnt happen after 17 years old Because I was known for never backing down from the big boys. Guys my size and smaller back Knew how to fight because we were Always challenged. Appreciate your Attention to the Truth bout these big boys.

    In wrestling, we took that aggressive opponent to our advantage by using that charge in mentality and would either suplex or head and arm them, using their own momentum to take them directly to their backs for a pin, or at the very least a takedown and back points.
