Maybe its my age, but whether it was Northern Soul at the Proms (you have to watch it) out clips like this bring a tear to my eye. Where did the time go, where did my youth go....just enough for a ticket and a drink and that was all we needed...
My only regret in life is not being able to do this justice on the dance floor any more, keep threatning to go to one one of the many northern soul nights near to me, Skeggy sounds good ❤

63 & thus is on my 3 weekly dancerzize🕺 sessions. I just don't do the splits, I just go through the steps leading up to it. This was a massive track at the Edinburgh All nighters.
I remember watching these on TOTP. tbh as a London teenager, this was totally alien to me and my mates: we couldn't take it seriously. Well as a Nan in her 60s now l really appreciate how enduring this has been. I love watching people my age getting out there on the dance floor, still enjoying the dancing and the music.How wonderful to be able to go and recreate your youth at any age, amongst like-minded people. I know it's got a bit of a Cult following in trendy clubs all around the country now. But its roots will surely always be in Wigan. We watched the film Northern Soul not long ago (Steve Coogan). Alright, it's 10yr old now but we loved it!!

When I lived in Tamworth, in the late 80’s early 90’s, Edwin would play in the Embassy club there. I had a great chat with him. He was a gentleman 👏👍👍👍

I thought that was Janet dancing I worked with her @ rathbones bakery on 2 /10 shift on cake wrapping in the early 1990s she is a good laugh she tried to get me on a soul all-nighter @ Maxime’s.
