Having played with rental clubs at Terravista Golf Club in Porto Segura, Brazil I know first hand that it is dicey at best the wet noodles you get to play with in a country not known as a golf hotbed (although, a huge shout out to Brazilian hospitality!)!

Got to play that on vacation in 2018. Didn’t know Crete had a course and when I found out it did, I paid for the taxi, rental clubs, balls, shoes and even a glove and tee. Worth it! Course was fantastic.

I've played in many a scramble event this time of year, and seen many good players alter their tempo trying to hit the group's longest tee shot. By the third hole, their swing is trashed and they are of little help to the program. The GG guys play a lot of scrambles, and you can see the same thing happening to them when there is really no penalty for hitting an errant drive. I've wondered how this affects their overall game. Matt has shown great improvement after getting lessons from Grant about his left wrist, and this video demonstrates how well you can score with consistent smooth swinging and always keeping the ball in play. Matt kept the same tempo for the entire nine holes. It's how you score, not how far you can hit the ball. Fairways and greens work just fine. Elevated greens protected by sand traps can make driving the ball too close to the green detrimental to your score.
