Fun video! It's interesting how similar some inks look initially, but then, surprise! There is something for everyone in the ink world. Keep the videos coming. I always learn something.
those sailor dipton inks are out of the world... the other ones are just as good, haven't tried it in a "fountain pen"" but dipping those wow just wow.
Have you not seen Colorverse Blue Dragon? It makes Organics Studio Nitrogen look like an amateur in the sheen department. I bought three bottles of it after I saw how much the color changes with the light. Simply beautiful red sheen unlike anything I've seen before.
Baystate Blue is my go to blue ink. It has some issues with bleeding but for my signing legal documents that is handy to mark legal documents via bleeding.
@@Carbon.Organic_Emperor12 yeah, white ink is mostly for art... but if I had decent colored paper, I wouldn't mind trying it. Grey is an acquired taste and very tricky. For a while, most greys look like watered down black. But some greys like sailor 123 and Wearingeul's Cat's eye (with its shimmer) really appeal to me. Iroshizuku FuyuSyogen is also cool. I don't like grey that looks like a pencil...
Great video. Thank you Brian. Personally, I lean toward practical (conservative) inks, so I am less interested in shimmer and sheen. Having said this, the diamine blue velvet just jumped to the top of my ink list. Woul love a list if inks you would recommend for both home and office, that are practical and write beautifully on high and low end papers. I was surprised to see that Bay State Blue feather as much as it did.
Please do not forget about Liberty's Elysium. It is my absolute favorite and the ink I use by far the most. Plus it is a gorgeous blue (the best one I have ever used) and it is water resistant! It is the perfect ink and I love it. Also the patriotic motif is really enjoyable as well. I will continue to by it and use it everyday and I hope to never see it go away!
I’ve got an ebonite pen that still shows sheen from when I used Organic Studios Nitrogen one time only. I’ve scrubbed the pen and never got rid of it. If you get Bay state blue, buy the big bottle and only use the free Charlie pen with it. Mine is so stained you can’t see through the clear body anymore. It’s a permanent sapphire blue.
I have the Sailor Dipton one. So, I wouldn't recommend it for fine/extra fine nibs, the shimmer won't appear and it miiiiiiight get stuck on the tip (like it happened to my jinhao 9019 extra fine). However, however, however! It worked super dupper well with all my medium and up nibs, specially the stub ones! It's sort of an acquired taste, but it's BEAUTIFUL. I suggest it to all my friends who like shimmer and shade.
My favorite blue inks are Diamine Regency Blue and Visconti Blue. The Visconti is water resistant so like Baystate blue you need bleach to clean it out of the pen or off the floor like I had to do...
Tried two batches of Haha (one bottle and one sample) and both of them aint that impressive as anticipated (intend to match with kaweco iridescent pearl), but I am in love with Kikyou from the same series.
It isn't as scary as people make it seem. It does stain rather permanently though with accidents if not cleaned immediately. Although on fabrics it's pretty much permanent as soon as it touches.
Judging from the view counts, people don't like sky daddy cultists. I don't either. Delude yourselves all you wish; go crazy with sky daddy fantasies. Just keep that bullshit away from me. I already won't buy from you any longer. Keep it up, I won't watch your channel either.
would love to see a video like this about the best purple inks!
Yes!!!! I was just about to comment this too!
I'm a sucker for any blue-black! But its lovely to see different blues as well.
The variety of types of inks available today is astounding. Thank you for making ink videos.

Jack Frost is my favorite blue ink. It never gets old and certainly survives the Christmas Season.

Sailor Ink with the Fude dip pen and reservoir is just perfect... Cool blue inks selection in this video
Re baystate blue, there's one soap I've found works. Master's Brush Cleaner. Comes in a puck. For the folks who struggle with bleach, etc.
For green and red as well
Greens ok but red is going a step to far! Jk… do the whole rainbow
@rsh8057 unfortunately rainbow don't include black (already done) and brown and white (useless and grey (I hate grey)

@@rsh8057 sailor inks look good but in price per ml comparison I rather prefer an iroshizuku or a diamine for any colour
Yes 👍 Korean Colorverse Supernova is Awesome ‼️
Organic Studios all the way.

I love Jack Frost it the only blue I write with in the month of December
You must've been reading my mind. I was just browsing the website for a blue ink to put in my Pilot Explorer when it arrives.
Why doesn't Sailor put more of their inks in cartilages?
THAT SHIRT LMAO

Noodler's is my first choice for any color, but Diamine is a very close second.
Interesting
I wouldn‘t touch Bay State Blue with a ten foot pole but the rest looks nice

I won't call some colors in this list as blue..
Why do all the intense blues take forever to dry.... 😊?
Says the guy who's still holding on to a bottle of penman sapphire he bought in 2002.
