Because I don’t wanna spend half of my time renaming layers. Lol. It breaks my momentum while I am painting. Instead, I just go through the layers at the end, delete what I don’t need, make groups and rename some layers if I think I might use them or modify them later on

so, most concept artists, are more kitbashing artists, that take photos, and do some cutting/pasting/colorgrading mostly.. With some little overpainting, so it looks like fully handdrawn/painted "omg how realistic!" - viewers responses - well.. not really... Longing back to the time where concept artists did actually DRAW everything themselves, even in concept art, like a true artist.

Traditional painters thought the same when photography came into existence. But now, photography itself is considered an 'art' form. By the way some of them, they still do paint, just like the old times if you wanna check them out. I would recommend Even Mehl Amundsen. Amazing artist! Leaps and bounds ahead of what I do; and the dude actually paints!
