Wow! That is one gorgeous mallet! My grandfather would have loved it! 💜

I used to have this wooden toy that was similar in looks to this mallet. Except it was about half the length of the bell part and had a hollow area. It sort of looked like a narrow bell with a piece of twine wrapped at the base with a ball that would just fit in the bell part, if you swung it just right. I loved that game! I might still have it in storage.

Hi Andy. Your wood-turning skills are superlative! This is especially demonstrated when making identical items such as the chessmen. I also love your creativeness in the designs you produce.

Brilliant! I got my kids a couple of air rifles recently and I was wondering what to do with all the spent lead pellets. Since they're deformed, one can't fire them again, but I'm not very OK with tossing lead into the garbage so it's been accumulating in a jar in my workshop. Excellent way to reuse this to good effect!!
    Thanks for making this video.

Hi Andy< wow your mallet is amazing, was the liquid metal encased inside to give the mallet weight and stability. Who would think a type of hammer could be a thing of such beauty. xxxxx

What was it you poured in the end please and did it have a purpose?

Okay, forget the part about what the metal was... I just read all the other comments then read the description... Oops ☺️

Love the lead pour at the end. Just to clarify, since it's solid, it doesn't act like a dead blow, correct? I'll be eyeing a few smaller logs and large-ish items in the shop this week to make something much heftier than my rubber mallet.
