Ethan you're not stupid we had a John Deere 15' still do have the John Deere that we still have it and it's absolutely amazing and we would never trade it for anything!! Stick with what u love!!
Thank you for another great video, and Ethan keep that drill running it’s doing great and you and your dad can keep it running, follow your heart on that one, keep up the good work
Around here in Oklahoma they hook the cultipacker to the tractor and pull the drill behind it, all hooked together like a train. Saves fuel and time and moisture. But it is usually 100-120 horsepower tractor pulling them. 15 foot packer and 15’ drill. That way you knock out your tractor tracks.
I know just what you mean and feel about love for your grain drill and all your equipment. Once you understand a piece of equipment it becomes so difficult to change to anything else. We have to learn the new pluses and minuses of it and sometimes we take a step backwards! Keep on keeping on and thanks for sharing your thoughts and adventures with us.
Ethan, I don't blame you with the drill as I think I would fix it up too. A lot of times the newer things are designed to not to last so you have to replace it more frequently. Thanks Michael
Reminds me of how my dad used to plant wheat back when i was a kid in late '80s into late early 2000s. Only he used a 77 and a 7' steel wheel Ontario drill. Though I remember him using the old Oliver-Hart-Parr 28-44 a few times
We had a drill that we thought was doing a really good job, however we switched over early this season with the new one and we had some of the best seed placement and gemination ever in a drought year, I personally would choose simplicity over technology but some times you got to make that sacrifice. Crops here in south Australia are looking pretty average and, quiet a few of us are having to cut them for hay or put life stock on our paddocks .Also want to add that the 1800 is looking sexy with them duels on. Wish you best of luck for the rest of your harvest season over in the united states. Awesome video. Thanks Elijah.
I like my 28ft 6200/7200 grain drills. I dont have factory transport but its not too bad moving them around with a drill carrier. Other than opener bearings. They’ve been good.
We got ours in the ground with good moisture then good ole Oklahoma weather is probably gonna kill it all. We are too dry now will probably have to replant at some point but that’s farm life. Love hearing that 1800 sing
Doesn’t sound like a bad idea to me with two of the same drills if parts are cheep and you can do the work yourself and save yourself some money and upgrade to another tool in your box to improve your other crops sounds like a win win
Ethan you know what's best for you. You have the tool & skills to work of the machinery so why not. The government ain't gonna bail you out if you go in debt buying newer equipment.
Ethan, great to see that you don't need hundred thousand dollar machines to get your seeds in the ground and can still make money. At the end loved the rock picker LOL.😁
I used to drill 400 acres beans with 12 ft 510 ih drill with cultipacker behind. Great setup, great stand, cheap. Wore it out finally went back to 12 row 30. You'll know when it time to update.
Keep the ole stuff running cause there is life still there. You have the best running "museum" pieces bar none. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks
The ol 60 sounds great. Nice to see the older tractors and drill working.
66 Oliver.

Ethan your drill has given you great service and with some TLC should have years more work in her
Nice to see the old 1800 out stretching its legs between the discing and culimulthing
First field work it’s done in a while.
Rocks for Shelly's flower garden. Good to see the wheat in the ground. Thanks for taking us along Ethan. Take care. Fred
Thats why I was saving them. She likes her rocks.

To much of a hassle to move around and couldn’t get it close enough to se seed wagon without unhooking the packer every time.
Excellent job thank you

Cool to see the 1800 doing it's thing. Good video as always, Cheers Ethan.
Thanks
Another thing, the 66 and that drill make a nice team.

Yep
Hell ya ethan wit the double drills

My yields are generally right on par with most of the other average guys around here so it’s not doing that bad of a job.
@@Oliver66FarmBoy fair enough

We were supposed to have rain this weekend but not looking good now.
I would fully support getting a second drill and building a hitch because I still farm with a number 10 IH grain drill and a model MF IH drill
Good video good to see ya
I cannot imagine the mileage you and that 66 have traveled. It reminds me of Irv Gordon and his 3 million mile Volvo.
A nice toolbar bean planter in the fleet would take off the acres off the little Oliver grain drill . Just a suggestion.
Don’t want a bean planter.
It would be neat to see you build a hitch to pull two or three of those drills and it makes sense to stick with what you know
Yep
It's not a stupid idea at all.....just before you said it...I said to myself....get 2 more and make a hitch!! Lol....
Thanks
Nice little drill
Thanks

Any drill in conventional till will make a controlled spill. keep it simple and affordable.
Yep
you should of been able to see the northern lights Oct 9th or 10th like we were down here in central Indiana
Didn’t even know about them.
Little rain please Farm Boy
It would be nice right now.
Do you know any websites I can find parts for an Oliver 3 bottom 3-point hitch plow?
I'm sure u had a choice between sticking with farming with ur current equipment set or go new stuff. I know u would still stick with ur older gear
If I could I would.
@@Oliver66FarmBoy I'm the same way. Would use the stuff my dad and grandpa used in the 80s early 90s over the big stuff now a days

That’s a lot of circles with a 12 footer.
