Cole ,Great, calm, collected gas stop wife hands you the can you do the pour, you say hi guys just to keep the kids involved or to remember what dad is doing, you have the family involved with the no worries gas stop, compared to the crazy televised versions on tv, quite the pleasant contrast.. frist time viewer of your channel or video anyway good video. You are a good rider it appears. I mean is that wash had some tricky parts to it, question did you or are you able to do any pre-run or do u know and have ridden the area before and no big deal kinda like everyone knows their state or region I guess, like my state I don't know what area it is but we have cherry creek, dell, Knolls, delta, St George, Mesquite. Utah-Nev. I just want to say you didn't get to flustered doing it, so Great ride Great video, I have a question if you have the time or interest. I would like to ride in an event like you, any suggestions on how to get started or people, clubs to contact further info. You r most likely a busy guy with family, job and the sport in general, so any info on my behalf will be greatly appreciated and thanks again I look forward to more of your videos or maybe take a look at some past ones. Oh, and I'm working on one day to be on Orange bike like you but right now I'm on a yellow a DRZ400. I circumnavigated the Grand Canyon in 9 days and also did the Alcan Highway on it, planned and paid for a Baja trip but I tore my rotator cuff and bicep 10 days prior to the departure and had to cancel i have the bug, I race bicycles, (LOTJA) slid luge , Winter games and go-karts, I medaled in both winter and summer games so I'm not a total novice so I hope you wouldn't think that you'd be contributing to a premature death, LOL by connecting me to someone in your sport. It looks like a friendly community I'm assuming from your video something i could be a part of. I race Motocross and was a member of the Utah ATV Association, sand dunes, Skyline Drive but desert racing looks good like it I could be fun I'd like to test my skills and compare. I haven't tried that type of racing yet I I have heard some crazy stories anyway again great ride great video and thanks for any help you might consider
Thank you, I'll try to answer all your questions. No we aren't able to pre run or ride in the area 15 days before an event. Yeah I've ridden where most of these race are multiple times. I'm from Utah County but recently moved to St. George for medical school. We race is cherry creek, knolls, many of the places your named. A DRZ400 isn't exactly a good desert race bike. So i'd recommend something more race friendly. My father in law is very into pedal bikes. He's done Leadville and many other big races. There are 2 offroad race series in Utah and we try to do them both. To get started go to raceusra.com or raceumora.com. You'll probably spend around 100 bucks in membership fees between the 2 organizations. So it's pretty cheap. Races are between 55-80 dollars. So once again, it's pretty cheap to race. The expensive part is getting the bike, truck, trailer, and gas to get you all over the state haha. Good luck, let me know if you have questions. It's like a mix of motocross and trail riding. It's not as intense as motocross but faster than normal trail riding.
20-30 mph on average depending on skill level. Speed varies a lot by terrain though. In this race my gps showed my top speed was like 72 at one flat part. But some races with lots of technical areas you're riding in slow 1st and 2nd gear stuff.
Yeah the start isn’t ideal but it’s honestly better than most of the races. It’s hard to start 300+ racers at once. Lots of others races are just full speed into a dust bowl. Had a friend lose a kidney getting ran over in a long bomb run like that
Awesome build , looks like fun , good job guys .
I live in New Jersey. I want to come out there to ride these races. This looks excellent
I'm in Jersey. I'll go with you.
Looks like fun
Great review
Those G outs looked nasty!
Cool race, great video! Looked like a lot of fun. I'm impressed on how the heck you kept a gopro recording that long? Cheers!
Thanks! I run a cord from my GoPro through my helmet to an external battery pack.
Nice start. I need to learn how to do that.
2 stroke with e start is the ticket! Good riding out there Connor!
Like I was there. Thanx. What is your bike?

The guy that went over bars in the beginning I wonder if he is ok?
I think that guy was okay. One guy got flown out later on in the race. Not sure what happened though
@@colechristensen25 no fly outs😢
All u have to do is. WFO believe it
The stupidity of starting a race in the middle of a lava rock field. 🙄
