I’ve always loved the dedication of the anchor in this scene. He’s the only person bothering to show up at the station anymore because people still need the news, so he does it all himself. Respect.
Honestly I find this heartwarming and heartbreaking. Lots of people are quitting their jobs/works to spend time with their families before the end comes and the fact that there’s kids who are gonna die quite earlier is sad since they didn’t have the proper future their parents wanted for them. But then again people can push an asteroid away like how superman does.
There are no words for how much I love this movie.. if you understand the meaning of life, you should understand this wonderful movie.. I can watch it a thousand times without getting tired on a Friday night. And that it is on the top list of 10 best doomsday movies. warms my heart..❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Earth would have been fine watching this scene. Obviously they didn’t take into account planetary movement to announce a week early.
