- In today's alternate history scenario we ask what if Pope Clement V, on his deathbed, protected the Templars from persecution by King Philip IV of France? By what means could Clement override the secular power of France? What would happen when Clement dies of cancer? Will there be another crusade?

Deus vult?
Good to see you here, Monsieur
He really really does, yes.
Deus vult
Non nobis domine!
WE WILL TAKE JERUSALEM DEUS VULT
I’ve been a Knights Templar fan boy since Middle School, and this scenario warms my heart!
Here in Brazil and Portugal, some historians say the Templar remnants went to Portugal with the invitation of the portuguese king. There, they founded the Order of Christ helping Portugal with the navigations and stabilishment of the first brazilian colonies
I really like the Knights Templars, they've been lied about and smeared for centuries. The biggest culprit being the Assassin's Creed series.
P.S. Never trust the French. Great video, keep up the great work. Real Crusades History is a great channel on The Crusades, Holy Orders, and Medieval Europe.
They worshipped the baphomet. Templar’s are modern day Freemasons. They are evil and not to be trusted. Nothing Christian or Christ like about these secret orders that hide in the shadows
To be fair assassins creed templars are basically a stand in for the illuminati. In revelations even the byzantines are portrayed as templars when in fact the two hated one another.
Geogre Patton once said "I'd rather deal with the Germans in front of me than the French behind me" also "What's ten thousand French men with their hands in the air? WW2!"
Matthias Corvinus lied about Vlad the Impaler as well.
King Philip"Execute order 66"
Idea: What if the Mongolian Army conquers the Arabs and Northern Africa with Crusader???
Idea: What If Baldwin Lived Longer (Possibly To 40-60)
Or what if baldwin didn't have leprosy
What if Baldwin lived to be 100?
What if Baldwin was immortal
What if Baldwin was Goku
There wouldn’t be an Israel versus Palestine conflict… It would all be under the kingdom of Jerusalem. Juda for short
Idea: What if Miguel da paz survived to unite castile, Aragon and portugal?
What If Russia 🇷🇺 never colonized Siberia and didn't expand East into Asia
I like the idea and I believe this leads to us having a massive Mongolia, a massive China, a massive China + Mongolia, or a slightly larger China with a multitude of countries in central Siberia with the normal sized Mongolia remaining Chinese
Bye bye Eastern Europe forever then lmao
@@randomguy6152Yea I wonder how much this would change history significantly without Russia's expansion into Asia, maybe Japan 🇯🇵 gains more land with the Siberian Sakhalin and Kuril Islands becoming its prefectures. Also if Russia 🇷🇺 didn't colonize and annex it, would Siberia be Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Mongolian or its own independent country?
Hello Even Bigger China
British or Canadian Siberia is also possible. So let's say Britain colonizes Siberia while looking for the northern sea route to China.
It would have been more fun to crown the king of England as king of France and wonder if the Wars of the Roses would even happen, much less the Hundred Years War.
What if Belgium had a close relationship with Germany instead of France. In this scenario Germany would back Belgium's claim to the Kongo instead of France. This would lead to Belgium joining the Central Powers or allowing Germany to let it's army go through them.
What if the Shimabara Rebellion succeeded?
I would consider the Templars really got the idea of an insurance system up and running
Love this new channel! Keep up the good work ❤❤❤❤❤
What if king Louis IX and King Fernando III collaborated as cousins
Got The love for The templares from Portugal 🇵🇹
I loved the video! Subbed!
I thought Mr Z had his channel deleted and was attempting to rebrand when I saw the thumbnail lol.
What If the Holy Roman Empire remained united/centralized?
What if the Sahara Desert stayed green.
Shorted: What if Crassus conquered Parthia
What if Crassus conquered Parthia with his original heir Publius, creating/maintaining a third sphere in the Senate, possibly the strongest one with his irl heir after Publius' death, Crassus Jr in north africa being a obvious ally part of the eastern sphere if hes even alotted north africa as he may be needed to rule in Persis or another Persia province/romanized satrapy instead
Idea: What if the Shah of Iran was not overthrown?
It's one way to negotiate your interest rate.
What if otomo sorin became the great unfier of japan and converted everyone to catholism?
Idea: what if germany remained ununified after the cold war.
THE ASSASING LOST THE TEMPARS WITH THIS ONE
Real 🔥🔥🔥
I’ve been looking forward to this DEUS VULT
It's ironic I thought of this when watching Angels and Demons.
I assume the Templars would help run Wallstreet.
Based timeline
Very good
What if decembrist succeeded
If only Heraclius was able to repel the first jihads *hint*
You really have to show maps to see the borders

What if Neanderthals colonized North America first?

Glad that you've gotten back into alt hist, but not entirely loving the new format. The discussion on possible points of divergence and why they would/wouldn't work was always interesting. And the narrative form feels like it loses some of the big picture
Definitely keep it going though 😊
What if 1848
Salvation for all!
I wish, then we wouldnt have this Israel/palestine problem
Make Jerusalem A Kingdom Again!
@@JamesPreusHopefully never happen
@@JamesPreusMake Constantinople the New Jerusalem.
Make Jerusalem home of the Yahuists
Im going to start another crusade
@@JamesPreus Jerusalem would probably stay catholic. They are far away from everything in europe
One of the best books i ever read was "the templars" by dan jones.
Do I hear the road to 56 music?
What if the United Kingdom of Israel never divided in 930 BC?
That would change a lot
You forgot about the order of crist
An potential historical fail is apparent. The anti-Templar move got started in 1307. Count Robert II of Artois died during the Battle of the Golden Spurs in 1302.
What if Saudi’s arbabia had no oil🗿
What if mass inmigration never happened?
Hate to be that guy but the Templars definitely didn't found the first banking system. Not even the first in Europe. However they did create a banking system to facilitate their activities at a time when it was not common (and even taboo) across Europe
