    Hi Guys! As you know I did a nice pop of color on my natural hair back in January, using Honey Blonde by Clairol Textures and Tones. This time around I decided to go brighter for the summer using Clairol Textures and Tones in "Lightest Blonde". In this video I'll show you my step by step process! I loved my results and I will be giving you guys a detailed review of the Clairol Textures and Tones hair color very soon!
    * Please note: I am NOT a professional. I have years of experience coloring my hair at home so I am comfortable with doing so. If you decide to color your hair at home always read and follow the instructions that come with your color before coloring. If you are nervous or unsure, seek the advice of a professional.

    I did it! I colored my hair using the same process honey blonde first then lightest blonde a week later and... my hair turned bright orange 😂😂😂 I called the number on the box and Clairol suggested an ash brown color to put on top to tone it. It's more light auburn now... that was a fun birthday. Warm tones on natural hair with reddish undertones is a bad idea. Lesson learned 😂😂😂

      Athorn223 oh wow ! What an experience! I used to work at sally beauty and when that would happen to customer, they always suggested toning. My hair was a little brassy when I first did the honey blonde. But I think it just evened out over time on its own. ☺️

    • @CandiceAfterAll
      @CandiceAfterAll  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Athorn223 also I waited those 6 months in between. My hair has reddish natural undertones as well though, because now that I went back to black, the black has faded and my ends are a light reddish brown . I like it though ! And thanks for sharing your experience so others can know :)

      what is better to tone down the orange brassy color, ash blonde or toner? 🤔

    • @CandiceAfterAll
      @CandiceAfterAll  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello! I apologize for the late response but I didn't use a toner, however I used to work at sally beauty supply and they always suggested a purple shampoo? Check at your local beauty supply or sally beauty! I'm sure they can help you :)

    How long should I wait before I color my hair again using this product? I love how my hair turned out but it's not as bright as I want it to be and I think it's because I didn't let it sit in longer. It's already been a week, should I wait the full 2-3 weeks or I can do it now?

    This box dye did nothing to my hair 🤔 made it chocolate brown after leaving it for 30 min.

    • @angelatate7393
      @angelatate7393 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      MeLissa H the box dyes usually only have 20 or 25 bleach (ceteareth-20/25)--meaning, it only lifts your hair color 2-2.5 shades. ceteareth-30, 40, 50 lifts more.

  • @traceymallard
    @traceymallard 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'd like to do this, but is this the same as bleaching the hair? and if my hair wasn't light enough for me, would I need to do this process again?

    • @CandiceAfterAll
      @CandiceAfterAll  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      tracey mallard tracey mallard hi, this process is similar to bleaching but not as strong. The lightener is peroxide based to lift your color and booster packet included (if used) will help it to process more. I got a brighter result in the areas where it was already colored. My experience with this type of dye is sometimes it takes a few processes to get it to the desired color or boldest color. But I feel like that is better because you gradually lighten it and it's not as harsh. I waited about 6 months in between coloring my hair the first and second time :) hope that helps !

    it came out so pretty. I wish I was brave enough to color my hair at home. Have you noticed any dryness, breakage or texture changes since coloring it?

    • @CandiceAfterAll
      @CandiceAfterAll  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      thankyou ! I have noticed that my colored hair tends to get more dry, which is normal so I counteract it by adding more product and I do more deep conditions as well and it's fine:) my texture is still the same , although it takes a little longer for my colored curls to define after applying the product but once my hair is fully dry and no longer wet , my curls pop nicely. there is always a chance that changes may occur when coloring your hair and I knew that when going in so I'm okay with it. my hair isn't breaking and I still have my shrinkage so I'm happy with the turnout. I am thinking of doing a video on tips for coloring at home soon! stay tuned and thanks so much for watching , anything else don't hesitate to ask;)

    Help! I just colored my hair honey blonde 6G yesterday and I LOVE it but I want to ombre it with the same color 6G will it lighten my already colored hair??

    • @CandiceAfterAll
      @CandiceAfterAll  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      OG Disney I'm not a professional but I can say that it will likely lighten more. My advice is to wait at least 4 to 6 weeks before coloring again so that your hair doesn't get overly processed. I always waited months between coloring my hair. Hope that helps.

    Hello I love your hair blonde it's beautiful and so are you. Did you stretch your hair before coloring and how do you get your length to show I have a problem with that.? Thanks God bless.

    • @CandiceAfterAll
      @CandiceAfterAll  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Eleanor Oates hi, Thankyou and it was somewhat stretched so that I could work with it. I had worn it in stretched styles on the days prior to coloring (braidout, buns, etc) then on the day I colored I just brushed it out beforehand. And as far as getting your length to show, my advice is to just do stretched styles like braidouts or stretch your hair before doing your twistout style . You can also stretch your wash and go in ponytails overnight . Hope that helps! :)

    • @CandiceAfterAll
      @CandiceAfterAll  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Suriya Islam I believe I left it on for 25 to 30 mins. The color however does come with timing options and limits based on whether you're coloring your entire hair, precolored hair, virgin hair or if you're doing a touch up ! It's also good to check the process because you may not need to leave it on as long as suggested. Hope that helps!

    Quick question for anyone ! I purchased a Clairol Textures and Tones Honey Blonde dye to dye my dark brown almost black hair. I misplaced the hair color booster and I really don't want to go purchase another box dye JUST for the booster.... My question is can I dye my hair without the booster. I really don't want my hair as light as what's on the box in the first place so is the booster a MUST ?

    • @CandiceAfterAll
      @CandiceAfterAll  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi! the booster is optional. it will make the color lift lighter . You can still color with the color without it because the developer is going to activate the color process. The booster is just for extra lifting so you should be fine.
