Obviously I know you''re a neutral (QPR) fan but I love seeing your perspective through everything and your knowledge about football. My favourite channel right now keep up the good work.
As a fan in the US just wanted to say thank you. You're one of the only ways to get quality predictions, breakdowns, and basically anything else about the Prem.
Harsh putting Everton in 16th, the points they earned last would've had them finish 12th. They've since improved their team so surely there's nothing to suggest they won't finish mid table again.
as a chelsea fan we could finish anywhere from 12th to 4th tbh, if it clicks then it will be great with the attacking power but if its a mess it could be real bad with a weak defence (based on pre season) I think id say 6th or 5th we will finish but go far in the cups
I think again you are underestimating Unai Emery? In two seasons he has qualified for Europe with Villa twice and he has qualified for European competition for 16 season in a row since 08/09. If there is anyone who knows how to juggle the league and European competition, then it's him. Your prediction would be an anomaly that he would not qualify for Europe for the first time in 17 years. He has averaged 1.86 in 68 games for Villa would usually would be enough for 71 points thus there would need to be a major drop-off to finish 8th.
And Eddie Howe got UCL in his second season it doesn’t mean anything, villas lost a few crucial players and your depth on the wings is lacking, if Watkins gets injured your attack is non existent
I think Newcastle will do better without the burden of European competition this year and I think top 6 is a reasonable expectation for them. I do think it'll be interesting for Villa balancing the demands of CL and the EPL. They really did fall off at the end of last season as fatigue set in with a smaller squad - and you have to question whether they have really improved the squad. I think they'll likely add at least 2 more shortly. I only disagree with Tottenham and think they'll finish between 6th-8th. I think Ange is quite tactically naive and they will lose too many big games
I'm a spurs fan but even I feel like everyone are bit to lenient on our squad. We have a bunch of kids and unknown dentities on top of just starting a new project.
Feel the same way. Think fans seem to be lenient as they like Ange but out form was dreadful in 2nd half of last season and with only kids added to the squad could be a very tough season for us, especially if we give so many goals away like last season.
@@matthewricher2652 Yeah alot of sloppy passes in our own third last season. It beats me why we didn't go back in for Todibo, he could win back the ball when we do that. People speak of Ange's "second year" as if it's a given to deliver trophies. We have massive work in front of us and are very unlikely to win anything unfortunately.
@jacobdaboss8413 I worry that if we have a bad start that Ange might not even get a full 2nd season. We have to sort out the tactics as we can't keep giving away so many chances in games. Most teams are hitting over double figure in shots against us.
A different class of football content. Well done Jim! 🎉 Think the mighty Wolves might surprise a few though; I’m hoping Cunha as a 10 and Strand-Larsen as a target forward will help reinvigorate Gary’s style. 😊
The quality of these videos is amazing. The analysis, statistics, data combined into a well formulated video with amazing graphics and editing. Best in the business! Great video once again James.
I made predictions with 2 different methods and I'll leave them here. Number one is flawed as it's very basic. It's based on a Least Squares prediction of how many points a team will get. I used data for the last 7 seasons/the seasons since the last promotion. Input is the point tally of one season, output is the point tally of the season after, really simple. This is the prediction: 1. Arsenal 94 2. Man City 89 3. Liverpool 80 4. Aston Villa 77 5. Tottenham 64 6. Newcastle 62 7. Chelsea 60 8.Bournmouth 59 9. Man United 55 10. West Ham 51 11. Crystal Palace 49 (Where they belong) 12. Brighton 48 13. Wolves 43 14. Fulham 42 15. Everton 38 16. Brentfort 36 17. Nottingham Forest 27 18. Leicester City 24 19. Impswitch 20 20. Southhampton This looks very similar to last seasons table because it's just continuing the trajectory as expected because it can't know of any obstacles. For the 3 promoted teams I had no data so I just used the data before the relegation for Leicester and Southampton and 1 season of Luton & Sheffield. Impswitch was predicted with data from Leeds and Burnley last season. Prediction number 2 is just outright wrong but I wanted to share it because it's funny. I tried to do a prediction using a Hankel matrix but the wqy I constructed it was stupid and I would have needed a lot of data for an actual good one. But here it is: 1. Manchester United 75 2. Liverpool 71 3. Crystal Palace 65 4. Leicester City 64 5. Wolves 63 6. Newcastle 61 7. Arsenal 60 8. Tottenham 59 9. West Ham United 58 10. Brentford 55 11. Nottingham Forest 54 12. Manchester City 54 13. Everton 53 14. Aston Villa 48 15. Brighton 48 16. Impswitch 43 17. Chelsea 43 18. Fulham 38 19. Southampton 38 20. Bournmouth 22 If even 5 placings in the second predictions are correct, I think I deserve some sort of medal
Villa won’t be anywhere near top 4, their team isn’t good enough and the fact they have weakened their team with a poor transfer window will be a major factor. Newcastle will be the main threat this season. Their team is unbelievable. Man Utd’s signings are average but not the best, Zirkzee is so bad at scoring goals West Ham made some good signings but it’s wether they will gel or not and their new striker can barely play a full 90 mins. He’s more of an impact sub for Dortmund Arsenals youth all trying to leave because they know they are going down hill. They have hit their peak and will go downhill now Brighton will have a brilliant season in my opinion.
Hey I think as a Newcastle fan that we have a better chance of finishing above the Spurs but Aston Villa and Chelsea I question plus until we do it, Man U. We don’t deserve it until we prove it with that last team.
Man utd will surprise us this season. Last season most of their main players were injured in and out, even their subs defenders were injured. They have a bad transfer last season with the takeover rumour around the end of transfer window. This season, most of the players will be back and they have a better transfer window. They were 3rd 2 season ago and now they have a better young players, better transfer, secured new contracts for their main players and coach Buying key players that understand the coach is also the key. Man utd will be at the top 4 this season
Returning injuries for Man United seem to be ignored in these videos. As high as 3rd for them if they can get a dm in the door with their other new signings and returning players , low key being slept on
I don’t know why no one is worried about Liverpool losing Klopp. I’m sure slot is a good manager but you can’t just replace Klop and expect things not to be bumpy for a while? Maybe I’m wrong but they were dragged into the 5-8 race season before last so why not again?
Our fans are hyping up Slot like he's the 2nd coming of Christ. I was at the Sevilla game and I will say we looked solid defensively but he will need to hope he's lucky with injuries as players don't want to come here now Klopp has gone. Slot lacks any warmth or charisma which won't work in his favour if we do hit a bad patch.
Most knowledgeable prediction streamer by far. Bringing injuries and fixtures into the mix really shows you have thought about this more than the other channels that seem to be all Vibe FC (and oten put their own team 3-4 places higher than they have any right to be).
Brentford fan’s thoughts: - Don’t really understand why people are claiming we drop off? - We went last season with one of the worst keepers in the league, without our fullbacks since October, and missing Toney/Mbeumo/Schade for spells. Surprisingly not spending any time in the bottom 3. - Unless we have the same exact injury crisis, I see us finishing 12th-14th. Goes without saying we need a CB to replace Collins (he has been awful) and a backup LB for if Henry or Hickey are injured again. - if Flekken has a terrible start to the season I would drop him for Valdimarsson (our young backup GK) after the international break.
I completely agree, I think everyone’s sleeping on us thinking last season was us getting found out when in reality the only thing found out was our lack of depth. Flekken was poor at the start of last season but was an incredible shot stopper in 2024 so I’m hoping he continues that form, he single-handedly got us draws and wins we didn’t really deserve last season. I hope that we sell Toney simply for peace of mind, ending the saga and moving on with Thiago is the best way forward. If we bring in a centre back and some depth at LB/RB then I can see us finishing in the upper mid table. Can only hope we don’t get as unlucky as last year!
Bournmeouth performing as well as last season without Solanke feels unlikely to me, think a lot of those teams below them could do them over and I struggle to see where the goals come from.
4/25 PL Predictions Time for my predictions. Thought I did decent last season, but we’ll see. Goes without saying I haven’t seen all the transfer business or any points deductions so there’s that. 1st. Manchester City - Is anyone surprised? Best team in the world with the best manager. I think they’ll drop points here and there focusing on CL and playing some of the kids but end of the day they still get first. 2nd. Arsenal - I don’t think this will be close. After challenging for 2 seasons and failing, I think there will be a drop off. Not to mention their clear lack of a striker and 4 CBs, plus their want for another midfielder. Still the second best team tho. 3rd. Liverpool - Boring ik, same top 3 but they have the best squads. Looking like Liverpool will get Zubimendi, which is a great signing. Definitely some growing pains under slot but they’ll finish a comfortable third. 4th. Newcastle - First real decision, and I’m not totally convinced tbh. But the difference in my mind between Newcastle and the teams below is the stars, guys who will carry you when you’re playing bad (Isak, Gordon, Bruno, Botman). Just a lack of those below imo. 5th. Spurs - A lot of good, young acquisitions but I just don’t see the star quality to get top 4. Last year was prolly their best chance, and new signings just feel like they’re a year or two away from something big. Great project tho. 6th. United - These guys are always gonna finish top 8 guaranteed, question is where. Maybe a bit negative, but the transfer activity hasn’t been brilliant. Bought another young striker when you need other positions, replaced your best CB with an 18 yo whose Alr injured, and lost a CDM in which you didn’t have many before. Young kids look good and injuries decimated you, so 6th seems fine. 7th. Villa - Love the project, Emery is doing wonders, keeping him needs to be the priority. With a new CL format and it being their first season, I think they’ll struggle. Injuries in key positions could be very bad as well, but it’s a season you gotta get through to grow. 8th. West Ham - Great team with a decent manager. I’m not a huge fan of Lopetegui, but they’ll have their “new manager bounce”, coupled with a deep ish squad and quality in attack, they squeak ahead of the next team. 9th. Chelsea - I’m not even sure they should be this high tbh. Maresca ball I’m not sold on, but there are highlights in what I’ve seen from pre season. Their defense scares me though. No Thiago Silva, a lot of guys who are a bit mistake prone, and with the I injury record of their best players, guys like Palmer and Enzo are going to have to step up. I just don’t have any trust in these guys. 10th. Brighton - The new manager definitely scares me from their perspective. I think they’ll have moments when they look like a top 4 team, and moments when they look like a relegation squad. It’ll balance out at 10th, which isn’t necessarily a bad season under the circumstances. 11th. Crystal Palace - Perhaps they’d be higher if they’d kept Olise, but tbf they’ve done good business. Adam Wharton is bound to have a great season, but the reliance on Mateta for goals isn’t great, especially with the fact he’s had 6 months of good play and that’s it. They could be higher for sure, but 11th seems fitting for the eagles 12th. Wolves - A couple more signings, another year of development, and an actual pre season, no reason why Wolves will do any worse than last season in my mind. Their solid system and quality players are enough to lead them to upper mid table, but without a spark (excluding an injury prone Pedro Neto) I don’t see anything to suggest them any higher either. 13th. Bournemouth - Tbf, I think they’ll do better than most 13th placed squads. But I think once they get to the end of the season and they’re safe, the performances drop and go down a couple of positions. Ireola is a great manager has a good squad, but it feels like they’re missing a couple of peices to push them further, not to mention potentially losing Solanke. Their inconstancies in form are just too much to overlook imo. 14th. Everton - not an especially aspiring squad, and no real acquisitions that drift my mind too far from last season. But without a point deduction, these guys will be safely in the mid-40 points range. Call it 14 but I don’t see much separating them and the two guys below 15th. Fulham - aging squad with a lack of goals imo, but you can’t overlook the quality of some of the guys in the dressing room. Not only Pereira, Robinson, or ESR, but namely Marco Silva (who I’m baffled hasn’t left yet). I think this is the last year before this Fulham project really starts to take off, but there’s too many weaknesses in the team for me to put them above the teams like Bournemouth and Brighton. 16th. Forest - decent squad with a lot of highlights, but ultimately I haven’t seen enough moments from this team to justify putting them higher than the two teams above. Nuno Santo will cook with a real pre season, and I see them constantly being a really good performance team. But I think they’ll just find themselves above the relegation fight. Never really in trouble 17th. Southampton - The only newly promoted team I have surviving, I like their incomings and having that City dna never hurts. I think it’ll be very close, but I think their play style will reward them and they’ll get the win in the important matchups. 18th. Brentford - I know everyone says “don’t count out Brentford”, but for such a well ran club, it feels like the project has stagnated. Too many of their “shrewd” signings haven’t delivered, and Ivan Toney didn’t look great when him came back (which he was trying to get on the England squad, without his big move I doubt he’ll be interested) 19th. Ipswich - On paper, this team is last. But apart from what I’ll say later, these “fairy-tale” teams usually have a run of games where they perform when. 3 or 4 games where they get 10-12 points, and I don’t see Leicester doing that. That being said, this team won’t be close to staying up. No sackings, maybe a falling out or two, but really only reason to watch is for the vibes. 20th. Leicester - So many things just legit disgust me with this team. The fact that the signings are sub par, the bulk of the squad isn’t prem material, the lack of goals, and the few prem proven players they have are either average at best or mentally frail at worst. Not to mention the incoming points deduction that Leicester will have. A big sinking moment for some of these players. The only redeeming quality about this team in my opinion is the manager. Steve Cooper is a good manager, give him 3 years and Leicester will stay up. But for now, this squad just ain’t it.
Without Europe, having players back and adding to squad depth (including Tonali) will allow Newcastle to fully compete this season. With new staff Chelsea & Liverpool have to be questioned, Villa may struggle with the burden of Champions league.
I find it amazing that when football fans make league predictions, a “big club” will still carry so much weight for them regardless if they’ve struggled for seasons and or going through a transitional period when it comes to their placement but yet clubs with less of a name and have proven the weight in gold, the same rhetoric isn’t applied. Surely applying the same methodology to similar clubs would get a better chance of success? FFP and PSR is and has changed football and a lot of predictions I see (in my opinion) over look one key aspect…. Coaching! It’s massive now And clubs that can adapt will and have genuinely done better
Here's my predictions - some of it could change quite dramatically post deadline day tho. 1. Man City - Could make it 5 in a row lol - hard to bet against them really. 2. Arsenal - Need to improve that LHS and add another world-class forward. Still if Man City drop-off they could capitalise. 3. Liverpool - thought they might drop-off but tbh have been really impressed with Slot so far even if it is only pre-season. Need a 6 and a cb imo exactly like last summer lol but I think the squad is comfortably 3rd best. 4. Man Utd - not super excited by their signings and defo don't think ETH will be there long-term but there's enough there to consolidate 4th imo. A good season from Bruno and Rashy with even a marginally improved defence and they'll shoot up the league compared to last season imo 5. Spurs - Solanke is a proper signing even for that price imo - a bit worried about their defence tho Van De Ven and Romero aren't gonna go a full season without injury/suspension and their play-style relies on those guys being sharp so much. 6. Aston Villa - like the transfers but increased fixture congestion will play it's part - don't expect them to drop off as much as Newcastle did last season in the same position tho. Hopefully we'll see Philogene get minutes in the prem - what a baller. 7. Newcastle - no European football should help but still not that convinced by Howe - always feel like they could really do with a proper no 10 as well. Guehi would be great business tho, if they can get it done. 8. West Ham - Class transfer window - honestly would be even more confident if Moyes was still there - not a huge fan of lopetegui but he'll be happy with the quality at his disposal at least lol 9. Chelsea - honestly the more I think about them the more tempted I get at putting them lower - absolute shambles of a club rn - maybe a coach that won't be maresca will be able to pick them up in the second half of the season. They clearly have some great players but right now I just don't see it being anything other than a horrible first half of the season at least. 10. Palace - Wharton - Doucoure pivot is gonna be so good and could genuinely be one of the best midfield pairs in the league - Glasner seems a good fit 11. Brighton - Amazing transfer window - unsure about this coach tho he's younger than a lot of the squad haha - but who knows maybe he's the next pep 12. Bournemouth - yh Solanke going is to be a blow - should be all over Nketiah imo - still Huijsen is such a good signing and Iraola is class 13. Wolves - really good manager really good team - should surely make some new signings as well after receiving like £100 million from sales 14. Everton - Have Dyche so they'll be fine but another possible points deduction will stop them from doing anything of note 15. Fulham - Losing Tosin and Palhinha is a blow, could honestly put them as low as 18th but I remember thinking the same when they lost Mitrovic and they were completely fine lol - rate Marco Silva (need more signings tho) 16. Ipswich - McKenna is a serious coach (gotta be shoe in for next Utd manager if he does well in the prem) - really like the signings as well - Greaves and Delap in particular. Feels like they'll be able to get a fair few shock results as well. 17. Forest - Don't really rate Nuno but do rate the squad. 18. Brentford - Could defo prove a bad prediction because they have a good squad and a decent manager but that can sometimes just not be enough in the Prem. Feels like they've been declining a bit each year. 19. Leicester - pains me to say but we have pretty much no chance - squad won't be good enough to overcome a record points deduction. 20. Southampton - Russell Martin is this seasons Vincent Kompany I'm afraid - just don't really rate him or their squad.
@@hello-vg9bg Just feel like a better manager gets a lot out of this forest squad but yh it may be harsh on Nuno he's certainly good enough to keep them up.
Something that has gone under the radar is just how good Ipswich’s transfer window has been they have not got carried away like other teams do when they get promoted it’s just been solid smart signings to hopefully push on. Still not got that much of a pl ready squad
gonna be hard for villa but think they could nick 6th/7th if they do well. Or if we just enjoyed ucl this year knowing we may struggle, and keep focus on the prem, we could perhaps aim for 4th again if the new signings do what we hope they are there to do.
@@lucasgould4922 yeah its in the balance a bit isnt it. I mean, should things go well, there is potential there to do well in everything, it would be a nice suprise, but i wouldnt be suprised as such. Happy with 7th or above, but should be aiming for 3rd/4th. All depends on whatever happens else where too as its all relative. 7th and the fa cup would be phenominal.
Everton I put 13th last year and we would have been 12th and pushing top half without the point deduction. I think we've improved the squad while making a profit and I've got us to finish 10th.
I don't think Liverpool or Spurs are guaranteed top 4. Ange has significant defensive issues and Liverpool are unlikely to pull through an entire season with these new tactics that leave them so open. I have a feeling that 3rd place will be a surprise and 4th would likely be Utd scraping though.
@deanoss777 I like him, and I think he'll kick on, but probably after the 1st season. His style is way too open and he'll run into the same problems Ten Hag and De Zerbi did last season-forcing him to adapt his style. It's good tactics, but it won't work in a league as physically demanding as the prem. Vvd is exceptional enough to cover some of these gaps but neither of his partners are as good and liverpool lack an elite defensive midfielder. Hence, it's really difficult to see them finish top 4.
@@arr0w769 Yea its just pre season mate. It doesn't mean much because everyone is using it more or less like a training session. I'm just trying to be realistic here. They looked dangerously open.
You're right about Kamara at Villa. He's crucial. But with Barkley and Enzo we have cover there that we didn't have last season. Villa will sign a defender and a forward before the window slams shut. I predict 5th for Villa
Just little feedback on your points on chelsea.Reece and chilwell arent that big of a losses considering we have gusto(imo top 5 rb itl) and maresca has said chiwell doesnt have a place in the team. we have a pretty nailed on 23/24 man squad so on paper yes we have a big squad but its mostly players going out and youth players. Also doubt europe will affect us considering how weak the competition in uecl looks and lastly dont quite understand. i agree with the defense being shakey its a big worry but maresca has said its due to a high line which was instilled by poch and hes working on fixing it. I dont agree with ur point on lack of experience considering 95% of our squad is the same as last year. Bias aside i have us 4th-6th (feel we are better than Man utd and Spurs and if we get a more structured defense we could compete with villa/Lpool and Newcastle.
Love the format mate, so clean. If I had to offer a bit of criticism however, I think using both 'key players' and 'key cluster of fixtures' feels redundant in using the word 'key'. Maybe have the term as 'players to watch out' will make things flows more natural.
Villa fan. I would tend to agree with the fatigue factor. Pre season disjointed not been able to play our best XI. No Europa playoff against Hibs (no disrespect) to boost the confidence. WH away, then Arsenal at home tough start. Think it’ll be a case of third season syndrome and 8th wouldn’t be terrible if it gets Europe. Need to enjoy the CL and stick with Unai and the players if we have a bad run.
Don't under estimate Ipswich Town, this club has something about it under Kieran McKenna. They were written off when promoted to the Championship before a ball was kicked.
I think one of them 2 will get 4th this season. I'm a Spurs fan and don't see us finishing anywhere near 4th place tbh. Ange suicide footy leaks far too many goals to get top 4.
I think I'd swap villa and Man United's spot on this list. United haven't done enough for me in this transfer window to place them any higher than 8th this coming season. The MU manager is still a question mark for me as well.
Great video mate, I like how you made it more interesting then just a normal run down and thank you for using a different table not that copy and paste table that everyone is using atm.
I find it difficult to take preseason into any reasoning for premier league predictions because we’ve so often seen a team look really good and then perform terribly in the actual season. That along with the quality of already established teams makes me think Liverpool will be around top 6 + or -2 spots. If Slot can finish third in his first season that would be a great achievement, and would providing good recruitment to replace aging stars in the next couple years would put him in a position to win the league. Still very skeptical though.
With watching developments in the transfer window I agree with you this could be one of the hardest prem seasons ever. Really hope villa can manage to keep up with what we did last season, we have a few unknowns that could hamper us though utd Chelsea and spurs have done well transfers wise and if they can hold things together could be a real problem for us westham too, plus losing Luiz and diabi and weather their replacements can hit the ground running will be key, overall though I think we have a squad that could maintain a top 6 position Felix would be a nice addition to settle the nerves but looks like Chelsea are going to do it again, honestly where is all the money coming from(independent video on this subject would be great)
I know im a Spurs fan but ive got a feeling that Arsenal may not be as strong as previously. I seem to remember them getting several last minute quite lucky wins, deflections etc and more than most teams. If Martinelli isn't back to his usual form then all it takes is for Saka and/or Odegaard to have a bad run or injury and i think they could really struggle. If they had an out and out, dominant CF i think they could push City hard and win it with a slightly more Route 1 approach, but they don't have that in the locker like City, and arguably like Spurs with Solanke. If Arsenal got Solanke or Toney even i think it would be guaranteed 2nd with a strong contender spot. I think they may drop £80+m on a proven striker in Jan if theyre not as fluid as they'd like. City just seem to be more adaptable. Actually, if Pool spend on a reliable striker, i think they could be up there at the end too.
Absolutely agree with these predictions but as you say, for almost every team, this season almost every squad is good (which is something we haven't been able to say in a little while imo) so I predict that this will be the most even sharing of points/ the lowest point season of the past decade. Even city wont get 90 points this season
I agree with your Villa placement and the reasoning. We need cover for Watkins and to not have a petulant child as cover in Duran. Also we have 10 new players and maybe a couple more to incorporate into Unai's system, even though compared to last season I feel we have better depth. I'm hoping for 6th or better personally, but given the strength of the league this season I wouldn't be surprised with 8th
Okay someone who actually knows ball, everyone I've seen has my club (Wolves) to get relegated or only just survive because we've lost a player that only plays half the season and Kilman who most fans didn't rate anyway. But you're absolutely right that Rodrigo Gomes has looked very very good in pre season and I think we'll finish in that 10th-14th group
We actually have the perfect opening fixtures cus we’re also playing united at a time where they’re injury ridden or new signings are adapting, i mean we could lose to united for sure it’s old trafford but the timing is better than if we played them in december with hojlund and yoro back and new signings settled
With Manchester city's 115 charges case staring next month. Is there not a possibility of them just being dead last based on the precedent of prior point deductions. Think it's only fair seeing as we have applied the same to leicester
Premier League 2024/2025 1. Arsenal 2. Manchester City 3. Liverpool 4. Tottenham Hotspur 5. Newcastle United 6. Manchester United 7. Chelsea 8. West Ham 9. Aston Villa 10. Bournemouth 11. Brighton 12. Crystal Palace 13. Everton 14. Wolverhamtpon Wanderers 15. Nottingham Forrest 16. Fulham 17. Ipswich 18. Southampton 19. Brentford 20. Leicester Thoughts?
As a Chelsea fan, if we don't finish top 4 this season, I think that would be a failure. We finished 6th last season, but xPts would have had us in 5th, add in the worst injury record of any team in the entire league. I don't think a normal injury season should see us finish lower than 4th.
I really don't think we have an overreliance on Watkins. I mean yesterdays game was the perfect example of this, Watkins was pretty much absent yesterday and we still one against a very good West Ham.
As a Villa fan I agreed with every single word James! If Watkins gets injured we’re done. Kamara is the most crucial player alongside Watkins, he needs to come back asap but can’t see him being the same. The only thing you missed alongside Luiz’s goals is replacing Diaby. He played every game last season, got 19 G/A. Heavily relying on Rogers, Ramsey, Buendia, Bailey & Tielemans to keep up or step up massively after injuries. Like you say we could come 3rd or be lucky to finish top half that’s how stacked this season is😂
I look at all those teams between 3rd and about 9th and think: yeah they could finish in any order 🤣 but I like how competitive it’s become in that top half (below city and arsenal).
As a Liverpool fan I think this is the most third placed looking Liverpool squad I've ever seen. Too good for the likes of spurs and manu, not good enough to catch City and arsenal. The persistent lack of spending over many years now can't be outrun forever
City Arsenal Liverpool Spurs United Newcastle Chelsea Villa Brighton West Ham In any order Bournemouth Palace Fulham In any order Wolves Everton Forrest Brentford In any order Ipswich Leicester Southampton
Insane to pick outside of top 2 which is as good as guaranteed, Liverpool, Villa, Newcastle, Chelsea, Man United, Spurs, Brighton, West Ham, could all finish anywhere from 4th to 12th place.
I don't get why everybody keeps having united so high ? Yes there man united but they ain't the same united they was ten plus years ago. There are plenty of teams better than them now and plenty of teams on par. Out of the top 8 teams they are the worst now. And depending how west ham gel they could even be 9th .
How is United being 6th high? What metrics have you used to come to the conclusion that United are the 9th best team? Just a little feeling you’ve got?
@@aystefan they finished 8th last season . Arsenal city Liverpool Chelsea villa spurs Newcastle are all better teams now, also better run teams with better managers and owners. And west ham if all there new players gel together got potential to upset all of those teams as well .
@danielhilsdon2043 Smart signings, less injuries, new tactics and proper structure. 6th place is pessimistic given how good they've looked. 4th most likely, and 3rd if they're lucky with injuries.
@@sssf55 they haven't brought anybody who's of value really though . Most of the players either had a half good season or a good euros so man u went for them . None of them are proven in the premier league or proven on the highest levels . And for tactics you do realise it's the same manager they had last season there are far plenty better managers. And as for injuries city and arsenal didn't get to many but Liverpool villa spurs Newcastle had plenty of injuries there self's so they also will have a better squad depth this season
@@danielhilsdon2043 Lol you're just waffling random nonsense. They had the worst injury crisis in their clubs premier league history last season and Ten Hag still managed to crush City to win silverware. Only a child would believe that the managers around him are better for winning absolutely nothing in their time in the premier league. I know you're too casual to remember that Chelsea went from 8th place to winning the league the follow season. Utd won't do that, but the new support staff, medical staff, training facilities and footballing structure will improve them dramatically. They have a better squad than Spurs, Newcastle and Villa. And have a better manager than Spurs, Newcastle, Villa and Liverpool. Very Very unlikely that they don't finish top 4.
I got Everton and forest 11th and 12th I think they will both steer clear off relegation they both have tough squads Everton has a decent manager and I would say forest have some amazing talent players that will keep rolling thru the doors sosa being next and they have started to control there spending a lot better
I think at least one promoted side stays up - probably Ipswich/Southampton I'm a bit less confident with Leicester, lost their manager, their best player, likely to have a points deduction and their transfer business has been a bit underwhelming compared to the other two promoted sides
I love people putting Villa 8th AGAIN. I don't think we match last season but you don't have to look any further than Emery for why I don't think we finish that low. Goal will come from everywhere as it did last season, Watkins didn't assist himself 13 times!
Sorry but we ain't finishing 4th. Ange & his tactics were sussed in the 2nd half of last season and nothing has changed in previous season. I actually think we are more likely to finish 6 to 8th place sort of area. Concede far too many goals and Ange set up to finish top 4.
The point deduction at the beginning of the season for Everton got me imagining .. If they did that as well with Man City because of all this charges and they gave them like - 50 for the start, wouldn’t it be funny seeing them battle relegation? The would need to achieve like 80 to 90 points to stay up and the probably would be able to do it.

Sure. We believe in Unai Emery doing absolutely what he's done in the past

Good call , we'll be better both ends of the pitch this year (if only just) it won't make us world beaters but 4th is doable.

This is the prediction:
1. Arsenal 94
2. Man City 89
3. Liverpool 80
4. Aston Villa 77
5. Tottenham 64
6. Newcastle 62
7. Chelsea 60
8.Bournmouth 59
9. Man United 55
10. West Ham 51
11. Crystal Palace 49 (Where they belong)
12. Brighton 48
13. Wolves 43
14. Fulham 42
15. Everton 38
16. Brentfort 36
17. Nottingham Forest 27
18. Leicester City 24
19. Impswitch 20
20. Southhampton
This looks very similar to last seasons table because it's just continuing the trajectory as expected because it can't know of any obstacles.
But here it is:
1. Manchester United 75
2. Liverpool 71
3. Crystal Palace 65
4. Leicester City 64
5. Wolves 63
6. Newcastle 61
7. Arsenal 60
8. Tottenham 59
9. West Ham United 58
10. Brentford 55
11. Nottingham Forest 54
12. Manchester City 54
13. Everton 53
14. Aston Villa 48
15. Brighton 48
16. Impswitch 43
17. Chelsea 43
18. Fulham 38
19. Southampton 38
20. Bournmouth 22
If even 5 placings in the second predictions are correct, I think I deserve some sort of medal
Villa won’t be anywhere near top 4, their team isn’t good enough and the fact they have weakened their team with a poor transfer window will be a major factor.
Newcastle will be the main threat this season. Their team is unbelievable.
Man Utd’s signings are average but not the best, Zirkzee is so bad at scoring goals
West Ham made some good signings but it’s wether they will gel or not and their new striker can barely play a full 90 mins. He’s more of an impact sub for Dortmund
Arsenals youth all trying to leave because they know they are going down hill. They have hit their peak and will go downhill now
Brighton will have a brilliant season in my opinion.
Hey I think as a Newcastle fan that we have a better chance of finishing above the Spurs but Aston Villa and Chelsea I question plus until we do it, Man U. We don’t deserve it until we prove it with that last team.

pretty good predictions Jim - the only 1 I'd disagree with is Spurs finishing above Newcastle. Spurs with Europe, Newcastle without
Man utd will surprise us this season.
Last season most of their main players were injured in and out, even their subs defenders were injured.
They have a bad transfer last season with the takeover rumour around the end of transfer window.
This season, most of the players will be back and they have a better transfer window.
They were 3rd 2 season ago and now they have a better young players, better transfer, secured new contracts for their main players and coach
Buying key players that understand the coach is also the key.
Man utd will be at the top 4 this season

Brentford fan’s thoughts:
- Don’t really understand why people are claiming we drop off?
From an outside perspective think it's mainly because you were so poor last season and all the teams around have strengthened much more than you
Bournmeouth performing as well as last season without Solanke feels unlikely to me, think a lot of those teams below them could do them over and I struggle to see where the goals come from.
Good Luck Everybody!
The effort you put in these videos doesn't go unnoticed James. It's what sets you apart from other football channels. Keep up the great work💪

4/25 PL Predictions
Time for my predictions.
They could be higher for sure, but 11th seems fitting for the eagles
12th.
Call it 14 but I don’t see much separating them and the two guys below
15th.
Never really in trouble
17th.
Too many of their “shrewd” signings haven’t delivered, and Ivan Toney didn’t look great when him came back (which he was trying to get on the England squad, without his big move I doubt he’ll be interested)
19th.
Holy yap

28:04 Aston Villa do not have a better squad than Liverpool or even Chelsea to be honest

8:36 that clip of Ho Chi Minh's tomb in vietnam, which is like a 4 minute walk from my house 😊.
A good season from Bruno and Rashy with even a marginally improved defence and they'll shoot up the league compared to last season imo
8. West Ham - Class transfer window - honestly would be even more confident if Moyes was still there - not a huge fan of lopetegui but he'll be happy with the quality at his disposal at least lol
10. Palace - Wharton - Doucoure pivot is gonna be so good and could genuinely be one of the best midfield pairs in the league - Glasner seems a good fit
11. Brighton - Amazing transfer window - unsure about this coach tho he's younger than a lot of the squad haha - but who knows maybe he's the next pep
12. Bournemouth - yh Solanke going is to be a blow - should be all over Nketiah imo - still Huijsen is such a good signing and Iraola is class
13. Wolves - really good manager really good team - should surely make some new signings as well after receiving like £100 million from sales
14. Everton - Have Dyche so they'll be fine but another possible points deduction will stop them from doing anything of note
15. Fulham - Losing Tosin and Palhinha is a blow, could honestly put them as low as 18th but I remember thinking the same when they lost Mitrovic and they were completely fine lol - rate Marco Silva (need more signings tho)
People not rating Nuno is so insane to me
Spurs is the only place he 'flopped'

If the youngsters deliver then bwe could finish 3rd or 4th

@@jjfreer I'd take 5th and a deep champions League run
Everton I put 13th last year and we would have been 12th and pushing top half without the point deduction. I think we've improved the squad while making a profit and I've got us to finish 10th.
I don't think Liverpool or Spurs are guaranteed top 4. Ange has significant defensive issues and Liverpool are unlikely to pull through an entire season with these new tactics that leave them so open. I have a feeling that 3rd place will be a surprise and 4th would likely be Utd scraping though.
Don’t see anything in Liverpool’s tactics that should have them completely falling out of the top 4.
@sssf55 yes after conceding 1 goal in all of preseason we will be "too open"
Aston villa at 8 is mad
Seems spot on to me
@ImmuneGEORGE Lowest Villa will finish is 6th
@@joebees21 thanks mystic meg
I'm Villa fan and don't think it's mad. 4th to 9th is so competitive it could be alny order
Going off the Newcastle champions league season. 3 game weeks take a toll. Villa did lose a couple starters. I see them at 6
Love the format mate, so clean.
If I had to offer a bit of criticism however, I think using both 'key players' and 'key cluster of fixtures' feels redundant in using the word 'key'.
Maybe have the term as 'players to watch out' will make things flows more natural.
The one we’ve all been waiting for 🙏
I've got a bad feeling about Brighton
They look really srong already and they still have lots to spend. They have so much fire power and a world class GK.
@@timphillips9954world class keeper 🫠 give it a rest mate.
Yeah they might fight relegation this season
So hard to guess what happens 3rd to 8th so fair play for giving it a go! I do think west ham and Newcastle will surprise everyone.
I think one of them 2 will get 4th this season. I'm a Spurs fan and don't see us finishing anywhere near 4th place tbh. Ange suicide footy leaks far too many goals to get top 4.
I agree I think people are sleeping on us and West Ham
I think I'd swap villa and Man United's spot on this list. United haven't done enough for me in this transfer window to place them any higher than 8th this coming season. The MU manager is still a question mark for me as well.
No
Great video mate, I like how you made it more interesting then just a normal run down and thank you for using a different table not that copy and paste table that everyone is using atm.
I'm hoping for 6th or better personally, but given the strength of the league this season I wouldn't be surprised with 8th
really high value video. Much work put into this. Well done bro! 🤜
Appreciate it!
Quality content delivery! 10/10

As a Leicester fan I think it’s project 2026 go down bounce back up and kick on from there
As a Villa fan I agreed with every single word James! Like you say we could come 3rd or be lucky to finish top half that’s how stacked this season is😂
Pre season has been awful too with the spine of the team injured or not yet available
Love it, Villa being under estimated again, happened last year and worked in our favour, long may it continue ;-)
Glad United aren’t expected to finish high this season, I have hope going into this season. Especially with the young lads coming through
Oh James, back the Town! We know how good McKenna is. He could get Chelsea playing well

Middlesex isn't actually an administrative area anymore, i.e. it doesnt exist. Brentford is well inside the London Met Area. Brentford is in London.
29:42 Why you put us Seventh , we literally finished above Man United and Newcastle 😂
Insane to pick outside of top 2 which is as good as guaranteed, Liverpool, Villa, Newcastle, Chelsea, Man United, Spurs, Brighton, West Ham, could all finish anywhere from 4th to 12th place.
Spurs liverpool and utd will never be 12th 😂😂😂
Middlesex is a historic county. Brentford is in London.
imagine putting Chelsea above Villa
Villas signings have been the worst so far this window. Newcastle will be top 4, their team is simply unreal plus Tonali will be back
Villa are going to fall off hard if they make it past the group stages of the CL
Finally a man that puts some respect on Newcastle’s name.

Brentford is in London. its in the London Borough of Hounslow. middlesex is an historical county that no longer exists..
Having the table already made was a weird choice. Took out some suspense. Support from Australia :)
Liverpool supporter here and I also think that, realistically, we'll finish 3rd. Of course I'll be happy to see us finish higher than that...
I got Everton and forest 11th and 12th I think they will both steer clear off relegation they both have tough squads Everton has a decent manager and I would say forest have some amazing talent players that will keep rolling thru the doors sosa being next and they have started to control there spending a lot better
I think at least one promoted side stays up - probably Ipswich/Southampton
I'm a bit less confident with Leicester, lost their manager, their best player, likely to have a points deduction and their transfer business has been a bit underwhelming compared to the other two promoted sides
I love people putting Villa 8th AGAIN. I don't think we match last season but you don't have to look any further than Emery for why I don't think we finish that low. Goal will come from everywhere as it did last season, Watkins didn't assist himself 13 times!

I hate that Spurs' "who are you" run doesn't even include city, pool, or arse. It's going to be crazy in the top half of the table this season
No predictions of Chelsea above 7th, underdog arc incoming
The Villa Prediction is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS 😂😂 - not even a Villa Fan
Sorry but we ain't finishing 4th. Ange & his tactics were sussed in the 2nd half of last season and nothing has changed in previous season. I actually think we are more likely to finish 6 to 8th place sort of area. Concede far too many goals and Ange set up to finish top 4.
this could be a really interesting season top and bottom. anyone 3-10 can finish anywhere
ZUBI ZUBI DOO WHERE ARE YOU” not aging well 😂😂
The point deduction at the beginning of the season for Everton got me imagining ..
If they did that as well with Man City because of all this charges and they gave them like - 50 for the start, wouldn’t it be funny seeing them battle relegation?
The would need to achieve like 80 to 90 points to stay up and the probably would be able to do it.
