Im still getting used to my infuser. I tried 17 grams with grind setting 7. And pulled quite a good shot with some Ethiopian beans. My best shot so far. 36gms out in 25 s. Not sour just a bit bitter. Im getting used to tasting espresso. Learning a lot from you and in the process of using the machine. Maybe I should use the PID function to drop the temp a bit to reduce the bitterness.
Hey Hoon, nice one. The Cortado is my go to drink especially when I visit a new place. Yours looks good. There's some controversy about ratios. I researched as much as I could find and 50/50 seems to be spot on. Originally from the Basque region of Spain that's almost how they always prepare it. I see you are posting much more lately and that's welcome. You are transparent and unafraid to let us see your mistakes. I'm really waiting for you to get a more professional machine to expand your horizons a but more. Stay well good buddy.
One tip I've picked up is "mechanical, horizontal and vertical distribution" - with the dosing funnel clipped on, I rap the side of the portafilter, then I tap it a couple times on the bar of my knock box. After that, I proceed to use my distribution tool and tamp.
Hoon, while you're steaming your milk, why not place your shot on top of the machine to take advantage of the warm top? That's what I do! Love the vids.
@@HoonsCoffee Yes thanks. Will be looking to purchase some of the cups. I just received my fellow cup and canister in the mail. Will open them tomorrow.

Mine has been, but I don't like drinking Cortados out of paper cups.

Hoon, I love your videos. You’re relatable and honest. I appreciate that!
Cortado is my daily drinker as well. I am saving up to order a Niche now!
What color did you get?
Hoon's Coffee I haven’t ordered the Niche yet, but I want to get a white one. They both look awesome though.
Cortado is my favorite espresso drink
Why you don’t use the grinder from the barista express ?
No reason. I like to use both.
@@HoonsCoffee is a good grinder? Do you like the barista express machine or do you prefer the barista pro?
Wow that was fast from question to review. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
