@@banditfishing1558 This is not true. I would be carful not using a shock leader with .35 and anything over 4 oz. Some lines are better than others, but your line will coil up after a couple of casts, and start to stretch. Be careful using big leads and straight through mono. You will learn... And always glue the tag end of the braid as it will fray and the knot will slip 100%.

Just make sure you glue the tag end of the leader knot. Otherwise it will fray and the knot will slip. You have been warned :)

What mono main line would you pair with this?
Anything that’s lower than 0.35 in diameter. 0.35 or above is strong enough to cast at distance without a shock leader
