    I recently watched a video with a person making Christmas decorations with a glue gun and I was blown away ,he just used the gun made his design on a plastic mat then when it was dry he just pulled it off and made an awesome decoration .

      I've seen people do that too, and in many ways it would be easier. But I personally don't like how flat the glue strips become when just doing them directly onto a mat.

    What a super idea. I wanted my icicles thinner than yours. Having a mini glue gun helps. I had some translucent Christmas packaging. Looks like angelina fibre but not heat resistant. Got some really lovely effects with this. Tried too with actual angelina fibres and made a fine mess. The fibres were too short. Works better to encapsulate them within the clingfilm. I also used a Rangers heat gun which really helped to get the glue running. I mention Rangers because they don't blow as fiercely as the DoCrafts ones, which likely would not work as well. I'm going to experiment more with embossing powder and glitter. Thanks for inspiring me :-)

      Great idea using the fibre-like Christmas packaging. How did you go with the glitter?

    Does this method work well for large icicles? Say I wanted large ice spikes on my arm, how well would this method fare?

      To save on time and how much hot glue that would use, you might want to use clear cellophane or some other more rigid clear plastic as the base, just to form more of a structure for the hot glue to initially sit on. I did this to create a sort of icicle staff pretty effectively, so I think it should work for you as well.

    Can this be glued to a surface to create a snow scene for modeling without it deforming in anyway?

    • @Melissakeetinphotography
      @Melissakeetinphotography  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, as long as you make them solid enough and don't stick them near hot lights.
