Sensible tips, especially about the flux, but you've missed a pretty important one: get a decent iron. That garbage iron you're using is making the whole process harder and slower than it needs to be. Invest a few tenners in a KSGER T12 and cone, chisel and truncated tips, it'll revolutionise your soldering. Pinecil portable irons and such are also an option, especially if you have to solder in the field, but TS100-type tips are more expensive than T12 tips and the irons themselves are less ergonomic.
Yes, it was the cheap and crappy option. There were none in my province. I will look up the one you mentioned as you are right, soldering with that one is slow and messy and tedious. Thanks!
