wood turning a rolling pin using walnut and maple

this is my quick Sunday project but as the weeks go by they get a bit more complicated.....So it begins i glue two pieces of maple to one piece of walnut. The walnut is cross grain for no reason other than this was an off cut. After the glue has dried i drill 20mm holes for 5 walnut pins either side of the blank.
The next day i turn it on the lathe tapering the ends. I finish the pin with mineral oil, in the UK we use baby oil.

Why baby oil? Not seen that used before.

It's often on TH-cam as mineral oil...its got to be food safe if you slap it on babies 👶 try it .....the colour come out lovely...thanks for watching
