Even after all these years I still admire MJ. He changed the world. These shows were going to be fantastic and he would of dominated the years afterwards. I read recently that the 02 shows (minus ticket sales) would have benefitted UK economy by £1 billion. So yes people were eager for these shows to happen.
This is it. The closest I ever got to see was a Michael jackson concert. I really wish he had lived to done these maybe i'm vein but that day, March 5th, 2009, when those tickets went on sale, I got a front row ticket, and I still have it. 2600 pounds. They refunded, of course, but damn the greatest concert that never happened. 2 days in history it was chaos online that year March 5 and he finally broke it on June 25th

I remember a rumour at the time, around 2009, that Michael had expressed an interest in doing another Moonwalker movie, to cover the 20 years of his career since the original, which covered the first 20 years of his career. I don't know how much truth there was in that rumour, but it was a nice rumour, and it would have been nice to see it become a reality.
The this is it parts are so sad. I feel they filmed this knowing he was going to die. They got this movie put together very very fast after he did die. They knew they would make more money after his death. They made the tickets for this is it as a holograph collection ticket. So no one wanted a refund after death because it was a souvenir to keep then. So they kept all money from 50 concerts plus made money off this movie. Pretty sure they had a life insurance policy out on him too. 😿
Those shots were from an actual movie. The man in the old black and white shots was Humphrey Bogart who was one of the bigges stars in Hollywood back in the day. The woman in the beginning was also a real movie star. One of those belle fatales as they were called back then. They just inserted Michael into those old movie shots.
