Hello, I'm Samuel...nice to meet you, I have a problem with a 10R140 transmission, it makes a squealing noise when putting it in reverse and has no power, it has a new pressure pump, a new central support As well as the arrow, clutch discs, and the sump does not go away
@@SamuelBarreraLeal hi, the noise and engagement issue can be caused by the #3 sun shaft not engaged in all the clutches properly after a rebuild like that
Make sure to get the redesigned cdf drum, which mitigates the chance of the bushing rotated. and they came out with a new anodized planetary carrier. Also install new #3 sun shaft rings if they're worn. and new f-clutches
@BigBensCarsAndCycles ok, awesome! Thank you! I plan on keeping this truck for a while, so I was also thinking of doing different pan with a drain plug 🤦♂️
Very very informative video. Although it would've been nice to compare new cdf drum to the old one and what issues they have. How much does a repair like this cost? (Out of warranty)
@@Tailwind1 I'd have to check the TSB for which build dates apply to the cdf issue. I don't have access to Ford anymore, but there are people in my discord who do. Link on my channel page
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles I was at ford for 3 months and hated it but I briefly remember them wanting to use an engine fixture for that trans. Is that what workshop says
@esoterictransmissions the manual says to use a crane to pull the converter and guts out. It just required man power to get the trans itself vertical. If I had a chainfall and portable trans table that would work too
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles thanks for the response. Yeah they say to use a crane for all of the 10 speeds. The 10 speed Allison has to be bolted to a powertrain table. Very heavy haa
Mate, I admire your technical skills with these transmissions.
Thanks!
Lotta faith in that 2x10 or 2x12 and its one mounting bolt.
One ofthe best breakdown videos on TH-cam. Well done Sir.
@@hularock2705 thanks! Glad it helped

Great video! I'm needing to rebuold my 10r140, are there any upgrades, or anything i can do ehile rebuilding to make this thing last longer??

The bushing rotates and blocks fluid passages (to clutches). The redesigned drum has a ridge that holds the bushing still. Repair cost (roughly) 4-6k
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles Any idea when the redesigned part started making its way into new trucks?
@@SVTPerformance Good question, I'm also curious.
Hi Ben, do you know what year Ford addressed this in the 10R140? TIA

How did you lift the unit into that fixture? I am GM guy but I bought that ford style holder specifically for 10 speeds.
Hi, it took 3 or 4 of us to man handle that monster
