- An eclectic Eurovision offering; a song about being possessed by the spirit of Edgar Allan Poe, heavy rock with an old Toyota centrepiece and the 16-year-old contestant who's taking his English GCSE next week.
Taking them all on is the UK's Mae Muller. She has a hard act to follow.
"I think it's safe to say on behalf of the whole UK we're so excited to be hosting, but especially on behalf of Ukraine," she said.

Mmmmm, it would be interesting to see if there were no "amazing but distracting" visual effects - just the band / muso's, singers and dancers etc, using simple stage lighting effects.

Yes but maybe cheesey was better. I still have some cassette recordings from 1976 to 1988 which were recorded off the radio so i didnt have any visual biases and I can remember most of the tunes. I reckon you could take an entry from maybe 10 years ago involving a lead singer with about 4 to 5 backing dancers almost glued to the lead singer and re-enter the same song and no-one would blink an eye.
It’s always been a joke. It’s now become an LGTB joke and that’s not as funny.

*Sam Ryder reminds me so much of the Brazilian singer Humberto Gessinger, when he was young. Humberto is from Engenheiros do Hawaii, it was a very successful band from the 80' s and 90's in Brazil. This band is still very much loved there.*

This was pure mouldy old cheese, I have never witnessed anything as bad as The Eurovision, many of the contestants could not actually sing.
