Talk about Karma…This video made me go full circle (other than making me forget to have supper). At age 10 I discovered Jean-Michel and had permanently glued Wendy Carlos’ “Tron” soundtrack on my turntable. At 20+ I was playing Wipeout thinking “I want to to make sounds like that” on my Amiga and failing miserably. Oh, and building electric guitars on my Yamaha workstation with FM actually got my migraines started (I think). Now, at the brink of 50 years I get the chance to start all over again on my Cobalt 8x feeling as excited as when I was 10 with my super duper monophonicCasio PT-80. Many thanks for making me feel like this Modal! Now, where do I get the time to fiddle with my Synth…
@@CoLD.SToRAGE we mere mortals had the Amiga 512 and an 8bit sampler. It was such a pain in the @ss sampling tapes from a Walkman. Good this thing it gave us an automatic tape filter. Looking forward to the cobalt soundpack!
James!!!! HOLY HILL in Hubertus, Wisconsin!!!!!! ROFL. I've lived in Big Wisc-EE my entire, miserable life!!! Lomira for at least 10 years - and those were the best of this hellish existence. HOLY FRIGHT! HOLY HILL! HOLY HELL!!!! Anyway... cool video. Keep it up!
Thank you guys for releasing three versions of that fantastic and affordable instrument! Firmware 2 is great. Well done! I own Cobalt8X and bought Cobalt8 as a gift for someone 🙂 I wonder what you guys plan for the future, but bi-timbral 16-voice Cobalt is a good idea in my opinion.
OK 3 things to say: 1) The Modal Cobalt - ever since I heard it I thought..yup that’s one for me, I’ve not got one yet but someday it’s joining my synth gang. The Argon 8 was just a little to harsh for me personally, besides I have a Hydrasynth so that does harsh when I need it. 2) Major Osc.. I’m a bit of a fan and glad to see you have found (in Modal) a platform for your creative talent and enthusiasm, always a pleasure to watch your vids. 3) Tim Wright - as you know, I’m your biggest fan. To your other fans, Tim is so modest, believe it or not, his friendship completely outshines his creative natural talent … and that’s huge! X

I am a massive JMJ and Wendy Carlos fan too... and all the WipEout music was sequenced using an AMIGA 1200. 😁
