👀 TWO new F1 teams in 2025?

- F1’s process for allowing new teams to apply to join the grid from 2025 onwards has been officially opened by the FIA. Here’s what happens next, and why we could see more than one new entrant join the field

1 year later and the greed has denied Andrettis entry
Yup, his money isn't green enough for Liberty iMedia. Soon they will regret if they aren't already their decision. 🇺🇲⚖️
lmao
Hope they can make them reconsider which I think they very well can
Whilst I understand, and to a certain degree agree, with the teams on not wanting not share more of the money, that anti-dilution fund is an utter joke. It’ll just ring fence the sport permanently
And although the initial payout may be less with two more teams, taking in more sponsor dollars, and reaching a larger audience, the long term payout should be much much greater!
@@ThelifeofKingfish I agree with what you’re saying, but the critical word is “should” which means no guarantees doesn’t it? So why risk what you have for a potential cut in revenue
Imagine taking on more work for a lower salary, you wouldn’t would you?
@@christiansimmons630the only guarantee in life is that we all die one day
Inb4 some rich Saudi Arabian sheikh makes his own team and pushes for even more middle east racing. In the end of the day, we all know that F1 is "We race for money"
When you sit down to play poker you have buy in.
F1 isnt exactly poker, put paying a sum to enter isnt that strange. Especially since its a one time fee
F1: We will allow any team and manufacturer to join our series.
Andretti and GM: Can we join?
F1: NO!
The fact that there are only 10 teams competing in supposedly the highest level of Motorsport, and one of them is just a junior team of another, is so weird and frustrating.
sister team
Alpha Tauri, Alfa Romeo and Williams are all Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes sockpuppets, although most of them have had a clear and undisputable history
@@Anankin12 Alfa only recently became more of a Ferrari junior with the agreement for Leclerc and Giovinazzi to join them but like you say Sauber has partnered with many manufacturers in the past and will soon rebrand to Audi which I'm sure will make them competitive. It would be great to see a manufacturer partner with Williams (maybe Honda) because they can't compete solo but a takeover (much like the Audi one) would upset fans that want to keep the Williams name in F1, even though the family no longer run the team and it seems like more of a novelty thing these days. Alpha Tauri are the biggest offenders though in my eyes, because they will never have a bigger budget/more advanced crew than the Red Bull team. At least for the other teams it is mostly an engine/parts agreement and occasionally an exchange of personnel, but for both Alpha Tauri and Haas, their reliance on the much bigger teams Red Bull and Ferrari makes it impossible for them to grow in the future. Which means you have only 8 teams (6 if you exclude Williams and Alfa as they are at the moment) that can realistically grow into a title contesting team. This is why I would love to see more manufacturers or corporations that have the money/resources to make a team competitive join F1
and one of the owner bought the team only to put his son on the car.....lol
Ikr, each team should be competing. Not there to take points, to house new drivers, to compete
Hello from the future, where this is nothing more than a joke! Formula 1 has no interest in expanding. 3 teams were told no from the start. While Andretti were slapped around and then told no. Leaving the fans mad and Formula 1 looking like idiots.
Well this aged like fine milk.
Ford joined the chat
3 hours later than this video
... As a partner for Redbull
Only as an engine supplier
Not a new team
@@4rdF1Hunny “engine supplier” more like a sticker deal
@@spainobmxer69 sorry what? They are developing the core of their car 🤣 it’s as much part of the car as the driver.
There’s no way the greedy teams already in F1 will let two new ones in
Ultimately though it isn’t their decision. The decision belongs to the FIA and Liberty Media
It might not be that bad
I mean, Toto Wolff said himself that if Audi wanted to come into the grid as an 11th team, he would have accepted them with open arms, and he’s the same guy who’s actively speaking out against Andretti
@@mrsoisauce9017 so its not greediness. Its just european elitism
@@norandomstuff could be that
Edit: although they were fine with Toyota and Honda joining the sport
I just hope Porsche & Andretti buy one of the smaller teams. Its only 4 real competing teams at this point
Not 3 ?
@@MrBboyflexibi I mean there could be a racing point but that would be in a perfect year for them
@@MrBboyflexibi I'd count Renault, even if they're too far behind, because others are simply fillers for bigger teams, no competition potential
@@MrBboyflexibi actually, 6, Ferrari, Redbull, Mercedes, McLaren, Alpine, and Aston. Williams, Alfa Romeo, Alpha Tauri, and Haas all got 0 potential
@@GameOver-nm2us Alfa Romeo wasn’t that terrible to me as they scored the same points as Aston but with Audi getting that sauber deal it doesn’t look good for Alfa’s future. Williams is too small, alphatauri is just Red Bulls b team and haas is happy to just finish the race
We had 12 teams 24 cars in 2010 that was nice and in 1995 we had 13 teams 26 cars and monaco was fine too !
I understand the criticism against ben Sulayem but I gotta say 12 teams is what 99 percent of the fans want
13 or more would be better.
@@car-Stan835 13 the maximum
@@random_username_thats_not_used Yes I know. 12 is the max. But 13 would be great.
Id like even more teams and have knockout qualifying. Now that would put the pressure on.
@@jmcmotorsportstvDon't bring that shit back. 🤮 They tried it once and it was universally hated.
Mind boggling that Andretti is still being blocked. I'd LOVE to know why/what the behind the scenes reasons are for blocking him
The FIA is French, Andretti/GM is American. Probably that.
Video: about future f1 teams
Also him: literally shows IndyCar clips 💀
Praying for the return of BMW 🙏
I also expect Honda to be their own team due to Ford taking over production of Red Bull's power units in 2026
No Ford has only the electrical part the rest is Red Bull powertrains as Red Bull wanted only a partner like Aston Martin in the past
@@erminiopreziosi1967 Yeap. Like a title sponsor with automobile brand company to boost their fan base. Because Red Bull is not an Automobile Car Company. They are a Energy Drink company. Having a car brand into their car is a huge advantage in advertisement. Ford is a really big company and a large fanatic of their car like pick up trucks, SUV and muscle car. Special in North America and some part of the world.
Given they're still a seperate PU supplier entry from Red Bull Ford now I don't doubt it
McLaren-Honda coz Japanese are crazy about honor no matter what happened they will try again with McLaren
They will be an engine supplier for mclaren, trust me, the new teams are andretti cadillac and panthera
Fia looking for a $20,000 donation because the teams will not approve anything
Hope they stop paying Ferrari so much just for being Ferrari so they can increase the prize pot
They will have a fit. They will threaten to leave if that’s the case.
Not that I don’t agree with you. But this should go for all teams on legacy payments
@@simoncaton1226 let them throw their hissy fits. There needs to be a fairer pay day across the board to really attract new teams.
@@simoncaton1226 Given how popular F1 is atm, I'd say call the bluff and let them leave; it would hurt the Ferrari brand a lot more than F1 right now
I agree but disagree. They need to keep paying Ferrari that legacy money because let’s be honest for a second, even if you’re not a Ferrari fan, everyone’s a Ferrari fan. Their fan base is the base of all of F1
@AJ F1 can continue without Ferrari at this stage. Maybe Ferrari had more say before the huge growth F1 had but now they're no longer necessary. At this point they're getting money for nothing.
"Throw money at us and you might be allowed in" ...but probably not and we'll keep this money thanks.
I’d kill to see Porsche in f1 but maybe that’s a far fetched dream
Yeah right! They say that then deny Andretti entry! Dont believe it at all
I just want another team to spice things up, it’s pretty clear what team is where by now you know?-
If only this lasted 😭🙏
So can we please see Andretti & Audi on the grid please? I could use a good AA meeting.
Got recommended this in June 2024. Ha. Haha. Hahahahahahahahaha. Thanks to the FIA for actually accepting Andretti are a reasonable addition to the grid. Well done FOM on your incredible idiocy.
I mean FIA is desperate for new teams. Remember the 2010 trio?
I would love to see more teams to join Formula 1. Been a fan for F1 since 2009 and learning the history. When you get 12 or more, it'll turned to be a great competition. It maybe a rumor for now, but I really do hope to see more teams coming up in the future of F1.
Crazy to think that this was a year ago
Why can’t we just have unlimited number of teams if they’re able to meet the budget and have the knowledge and experience to join f1
Yes.. please 12 teams, pleasee...
There shouldn't even be a search... Andretti and Pantera were the first teams to show their interest.
It will be iconic to see Ford vs Ferrari.
Ah don't worry about it we have the wec of Ford and Ferrari because they are back again but in gt3 this time but better than nothing I guess
Q1 is going to be a shitshow especially for short circuits like Austria 😂
Never gonna happen . Andretti came the closest but the snobs refused .
Why not 2026 when the new regulations come around?
Actually bringing a new team(s) will probably increase revenue, hence that 200 million entry fee is kinda ridiculous.
this kinda fee is used in MLS.. so makes some sence
@@dannysstart2218 whar's MLS ? Major Losers Sport? like the nfl, nba?
@@aaz1522 The NFL is the most profitable sports league in the world. Cope.
This is sounding a lot like Mafia business ngl
This didn't age well as Andretti has been smacked down hard...
Daihatsu... i am for Daihatsu. They would smash the whole grid.
That's a subsidiary of Toyota btw
@@SockyNoob so Instead Toyota Gazoo Racing as an F1 team
All the teams and webbring back prequalify
The current teams are killing the sport with their utter greed....shame on them. F1 was so much better 20 years ago.
Aged like milk, including the entry fee💀
Somthing I think would be insane is audi and Bugatti joining that would be some crazy shit
I could see Hyundai fielding as Genesis.
That’s a lot of money for them to compete in f1
The concorde agreement 💀
I don’t think Hyundai should join, it just doesn’t match with F1. + Hyundai started copying other brand when company launched.
I have a feeling at least 3 teams already established will get sold and rebrand.
Seems cheaper lol
Haas probably won't sell at this point. Williams maybe. Alpha Tauri, Redbull doesn't seem set on selling them. So I think Williams is the only viable. In reality I don't think any of them will sell.
@@LouSassol69er Alpha Tauri will definitely be sold in the next few years, Williams...well, they're there I guess, and Haas will also be sold I think, they don't got enough funding for shit
@@GameOver-nm2usHaas will surprise you. The reality is is that it has taken Gene Haas quite a few years to become convinced that F1 is a viable investment. This is the main reason why Haas have always appeared strapped for cash, Gene Haas didn't want to keep investing in something that was losing him money. However, with F1's very aggressive new American focus, I think he has become convinced of the long-term potential. Hence a title sponsor like Moneygram, it looks like a proper American racing team now.
I still don't understand where people keep getting this, "Red Bull are selling Alpha Tauri" narrative from. Red Bull themselves have called this bullshit. They aren't courting any manufacturers and the Ford deal also applies to Alpha Tauri. It really is nonsense. Williams is a weird one because I really cannot tell how much Dorilton actually wants to keep investing in this team. It makes me wonder if they completely understood the trouble the team was in, and if appointing people like Vowles is their way of making it a more appealing purchase for a manufacturer.
@@Nikelaos_Khristianos Hmmm so only Williams will sell
Search for new teams? Someone literally ignored andretti's application?
i wish there were more private non factory teams.
First I was like only $20k that's chump change for an f1 team but then it was followed up by $300k then jumped to $200m...
Then when Andretti had the 200m ready they still said no since they're anticompetitive elitist eurotrash.

nope
Every track making room for 2 more teams. Not, a, chance.
FIA: UNLESS ITS NOT ANDRETTI
I think that ford should become a formula 1 team
This didn't age well i think
I wanna see f1 re ennact the 1996 monaco gp again
Well, they could’ve had one team already joined and I had the $200 million paid within how long. But now they turned down Jenna/Cadillac and Andrei motorsports.
Oh what a lie this was
I dont understand how it wasnt a money problem in 20th for F1 to have 13+ teams but now everyone acts like they are gonna go broke if another team joins
2 teams already rejected.
Fun fact, Zak Brown just joined Andretti's acquisition corporation
And Ferrari gets more because it’s Ferrari…
So about that
why are you showing Indy 500 cars...???
Maybe Andretti needs to work with Porsche or BMW. Perhaps Andretti bringing a new engine supplier might interest teams like AM or McLaren who may want to switch from their Mercedes engine. GM will simply just be a rebranded Renault engine which might be amongst the other selfish reasons teams won't let them in.
Cadillac has interest in developing its own engine for 2026 I thought
I think is trying to go in under Cadillac Engine not under one already there. They don't want to get sabotaged like every American brand/driver that tries to get into Euro1
I mean F1
@@jeffreyvences5746 cause all the American teams weren’t good enough to build a competitive engine and they knew they’d be safer using one that already works. As for the drivers they just weren’t good enough F1 drivers chop and change if you don’t perform you go it’s simple.
@@jeffreyvences5746 ah yes, f1 is biased against Americans and sabotages them despite tryna get an American market since time began
Lol what
Aston Martin uses Mercedes in their roadcars , they have no interest in changing
We’re definitely getting Toyota Gazoo Racing in F1 soon, can’t wait for all the Toyota fans to get hyped up (yes that includes me)
This proves why F1 sucks for anybody who actually cares about racing. They clearly hate the idea of having actual competition.
Anti dilution is basically a status quo protection. It's bs. Porsche don't need an F1 team to sell cars and I don't know anyone who bought a merc because of Hamilton. F1 works well with 20 cars, but the anti dilution is bs.
Anyone with a billion dollars just lying around want to start a formula one team?
Since Audi paid $700 million for sauber, I think the price will be much higher than even that for other teams
They bought a team they r not another team entering the sport the anti dilution clause is just for entering u still need to have a power train, châssis and employees
Actually in regards to buying a team, Sauber's value has actually gone up the most of any team in the last few years. Audi didn't buy it because, "it was cheap", they bought it because of its inherent value.
@@Nikelaos_Khristianos of course they did, they went from a mess with 4 contracted drivers, almost to Marussia or Caterham levels, to a midfielder that occasionally gets points.
Not how it works. Concorde agreement was 200m. There was no valid reason for rejection. The people who rejected it are objectively amoral human filth.
Lol for Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin... 20k is an option... 300 k is a car at best. For others it's nothing. The real cost is running the team.
Aged like Milk🥛
My prediction if 12 team grid goes ahead:
Alpine, Andretti-BMW, Aston Martin, Audi, Ferrari, Haas, McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull, Toyota, VCARB, Williams
F1: opens applications for new teams
Also F1: rejects every new entry
Yeah good news!
Potential hyundai diving into f1 is extremely low.. considering hyundai’s main target is still koreans and motorsports industry here is really small, there wouldn’t be enough promotional effects to drag hyundai’s interests.
Wouldn’t mind them in Formula E tbh
it is clear that you dont know much about car industry lol
Reduce cars/teams and bring back the v10 . That would be fair enough and more logical
I really dont think this will happen and i think the speculation around Andretti having a slot in the season is unlikely, even if it gets through F1. Because they also have to verify with Liberty media who rejected their offer and will most likely do the same with more teams unfortunately
A lot of talk but they won’t do it, as soon as the teams get to vote it’s goodbye, they will not part with any of the prize any further than the already do, it’s greed pure and simple otherwise they would’ve let Andretti in for 2026, there needs to be a lawsuit brought against F1 in the U.S. to let them in or take your races somewhere else

2025 will be a dud, 2026 with the new engine regulation is what I hope will bring back competition
I think porche would be a very good addition to the gird since they already have a formula e team
If a team officially applies will it be public or private?
andretti + ford(yes i know ford is joining redbull as redbull racing ford but idrc)
With entry fees like that it’s now a closed shop for the top teams to rinse everybody for as much as they can get 👎🏻
Why is he even in charge of the FIA? Cos of countries money? Likely.
I feel that Andretti won't get in before '28 when Cadillac is set to be an engine supplier.
Honda makes good engines
...they manufactured Indys
Nissan, VW, and BMW would be super cool
If anything is just get rid of the anti dilution fund going forward. What are the existing teams going to do, leave? That’s fine, plenty of people wanting in now
NOPE THEY WANT TO KEEP THE “FRANCHISE” MODEL ONLY 10 TEAMS UNTIL AT LEAST 2028
I don't understand...
They are trying to add more teams in Formula 1 but they didn't let Andretti Motorsport join in full American Team.
They done all they can do to be homoligated in Formula 1, they already have a facility and then they end up declining them.
Total BS Politics this Formula 1.
Yep agree with you! Because of they only care about more the publicity rather than making the sport into a huge competion for everyone who is both able and have the will to be a part of it. No matter how succesful the team will be.
IF PORCHE EVER MAKES IT IN THEY WILL RISE THE RANKS QUICKLY 😎 I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT ..
I think Porsche and audi should join their both supercar
Yes!! And more race 🥰
you might see this name in 2027 it is called NoyouserDgnaim
F1 used to be 12 teams what’s so bad about that I’ll tell ya Toto has too much of a word to say and so does Christiia
200 mill just to join? thats not even the operating cost
If Andretti Autosport isn't allowed in , I am going to stop watching F1 !!!
Well we got Audi joining in 2026 so just need another team
Cmon porsche ill donate 10$ lol
If there are 6 other drivers, they gotta increase fp1, q1 duration. Yuki would shout more
new being not bought a team whose on grid lol audi anyone
