We are back where we layed the 4inch concrete slab to put 100mm insulation boards down and to cut polythene membrane ready for the floor screeders. This job is having underfloor heating which is why the insulation is being layed down on top of the concrete rather than underneath.
With me not being there all day the lads took over for a few hours and left them in charge of the camera and I didn't think they done a bad job!
In total we used 30- 1200 x 2400 insulation boards.

There should be a layer of DPM between the slab and the insulation and another layer of VCL before the screed goes on.

Hi, thank you for posting this video. Does it matter if the insulation is dipped in some areas and all the insulation isn't level. We have had timber floors removed and concrete flooring put down. Some.of it is quite unlevel. Is this a problem for underfloor heating and top screed? Thank you

Hi, this is a great video! I am just about to do a mini garage conversion and wondered if I could use the 100mm Celotex insulation with Screed on top to bring the garage floor level with the rest of the house.
Will I need a DPM layer over the Celotex before laying the screed?

Just a question but if you use a plastic sheet under the concrete, why would you need insulation? Wouldn’t the plastic prevent the concrete coming into contact with damp and cold?

    • @ConstructionwithKieren

The plastic is to stop the screed from eating into the foil of the insulation
