Here we are, 8 months and 21 reviews later, we've managed to review the whole season together! I almost can't believe it, for real, I initially wasn't even sure I could keep up with ONC's schedule - especially once they started releasing the episodes weekly, like, WTF I've never posted that frequently in my entire life - yet... here we are 😄 Thank you all SO MUCH for sticking around this long and for sharing your thoughts on the season with me, you guys made the experience 100 times more entertaining, I've had a blast! 🤩 I'll see you guys next time with my Grett-rospective and with my reviews of the two DC mini-series, ciao! ⭐ DISVENTURE CAMP - SEASON 1 RETROSPECTIVE ⭐ th-cam.com/video/6eOgmXryVkM/w-d-xo.html ⭐ DISVENTURE CAMP - SEASON 3 RETROSPECTIVE ⭐ Coming soon...
@@onlyrevy Yep, only once all the episodes are out though, so I'll wait for the staff stories miniseries to end before I review it all, but I certainly still will 🤗
Actually it was confirmed in a tweet that Alec, Ellie and Gabby despite forfeiting still received their share of the prize money and that the scene where they get their share was cut due to time constraints.
@@matthewflanz9146 I've heard this too, but no one I talked to seemed to know where to find this tweet. If you know something I'd love to read it tho, it would be quite satisfying to know those 3 actually did get their money
I've never felt so mixed on an ending before. He's hoping that if Eesha is in Season 4, she'll be the polar opposite of her sister in every way possible; writing most of all.
@@AsheranimatesAshermurchey I noticed, but if they actually do want her to be part of the season, then I imagine they'd lie and give us a fake name and character description to not spoil the surprise. Even tho it would be incredibly cool, I still doubt she'll be part of the season
@@xqomm they showed the silhouette of all competidors of season 4. They also were looking for voice actors for them, and showed a little info about each character. But if I remember, the names weren't set to stone.
If that’s the case, then keep Derek and Trevor in prison for the killings of 100+ animals! Ashley in jail for nearly killing Fiore when landing, Ally in jail for leaving Jake to die in a bear cave
The all stars finale scene with riya should’ve been the S2 finale tbh. Riya didn’t have anyone but Connor so her looking through her phone of people she already wasn’t friends with anymore didn’t hit me hard since she made her choice a long time ago.
Yes, then we could get the redemption arch in season 3 and Riya could be eliminated right before merge (So maybe than we can have final between Alec and Hunter).
I absolutely agree, in season 2 she even ended up pushing Rosa and Lake away too, and especially given what Rosa told her after her own elimination, that felt like the right season for this. Had they decided to remake season 2, just like they did with season 1, then they totally could have gone for this storyline there, and then could have had Riya come back in All-Stars for some new story or even a redemption
I was shocked to see a villain win because in shows like these, the heroes, or anti-heroes, always end up winning the money. The only time that I could recall a villain winning was Heather in TDWT, but her money fell into a volcano, rendering her win useless.
Lightning won an ending in TDROTI, and Mike won an ending in TDAS, even though he himself wasn't a villain, Mal was who got him there in the first place.
There’s a compilation of how many times Riya nearly killed someone it’s more than 10….I don’t like how they try to make us feel bad for her “It was just an act” is a stupid excuse
Not gonna lie I don’t think they were showing that, I think it’s more like how much it shows that riya genuinely thinks she’s in the right after all of this !
I enjoyed the B plots more than the final battle. It the we nice to see how the relationships of the eliminated contests have changed. Favorite moment in this episode had be Fiore and Alec interactions. Just found it wholesome how Fiore showed that she actually cares for Alec and how happy they both looked as Alec was giving Fiore a piggyback ride as they were exiting the bus and leaving the airport as they were saying their goodbyes. I truely believe that Alec did adopt Fiore after the finale considering we see them together in Fiore’s social media scroll despite how they are from two diffrent counties. It makes believe that Alec got Fiore out of that boarding school and into more loving environment.
I do hope that's the case. I'm still not sure how Fiore's parents would even allow this random man to be part of their daughter's life or how any court of law would allow him to adopt her. BUT I still like to think that's what happened and that he's either visiting her at her parents' house on a daily basis or that he somehow managed to become her guardian
@@JegcopoI see 3 possible senarios 1. The judge saw the footage of their time at camp and had a change of heart and allowed him to adopt Fiore and parents allow it because they wouldn’t have to deal with her anymore. 2. Fiore manipulated/ threatened the judge to allow Alec to adopt her 3. Fiore’s Parents took her out of the boarding school and hired Alec to be a live in nanny/manny. Ultimately, I think Fiore is out of the boarding home because I’m a catholic and did have nuns teach me while I was getting communion and let me tell you that they are strict about social media and no way would let Fiore’s username to pass. I’d also like to think Alec adopted her because 1. They are from different countries and the fact we need them together after the show makes me think he got her out of the boarding school and adopted her and 2. Out all 3 of Fiore’s parental options. I think Alec hands down would provide the safest and most caring place for her and he’s probably the only out of the 3 options that can effectively control Fiore.
I think the message fails badly. It’s shoved in your face constantly and if you really think it about what did riya actually lose? The respect of her cast? Who cares they didn’t like her anyways. If she lost they would’ve laughed at her and not forgive her. Connor? Connor isn’t the only man in the world she can get another person. Heck this brings to the other issue. Riya may be lonely however she got no consequences: she has fame with all those trophies, her sister calls her probably happpy about her victory, she’s rich and most importantly due to her fame she has tons of fans. Realistically with how self absorbed riya is she wouldn’t care that everyone is mad at her winning she probably care about Connor but that’s it.
No the message meant to show that despite you don't have any success or victory, relationships and feelings are always important. Riya regretted everything that pretending or acting to be someone who isn't true to themselves is getting too far because, in reality you just don't have to hide or lie about yourself because it breaks your relationships with the people that you knew in your life. She may have all of success and everything (including a family) but what she doesn't have is friendships and it was because of her desires and pretended identity that she was forced upon to act.
@@JannadrawzThe comment isn’t about the original intention though, as Riya winning with no punishment while remaining famous and getting several trophies still show her winning at life. Connor? He isn’t the only guy in the world, she can move on. Friends? She’s a Hollywood actress whose family still supports her and can get new friends. Sure she’s alone now, but at the end of the day that can all be changed and regardless of her circumstances currently, will inevitably get better. She’s attempted murder several times, stepped on others to get where she is and has literally admitted she’s sabotaged others in the industry, she’s done so much shitty things yet got 3 million (at least, she’s famous so probably richer) and has received no consequences other than being “alone” which is something that can be changed (she’s been shown to still have a relationship with her family btw so she’s not entirely alone even now).
I do actually like the ending. my issue is just many story lines felt incomplete or rushed. I think the cast was too big and that caused some story lines to need to be rushed and I hope that they keep cast sizes at 14-16 in future. It felt like any plot lines that didn’t involve either Riya or Jake were rushed
Yeah this ending made me appreciate this season more and it would’ve been a 5/10 for me if not for the ending (I say like a 7/10 but it does NOT make up for the writing and pacing issues)
Jake and riya ruined the season 😒 that screen time they jad could have been ised for so much stuff like ally villain arc better, ally vs jake better, alec being alec, riya kinda no be bad?,connor do something except i love riya,i hate riya,i love riya,i hate riya
Jake and riya ruined the season 😒 that screen time they jad could have been ised for so much stuff like ally villain arc better, ally vs jake better, alec being alec, riya kinda no be bad?,connor do something except i love riya,i hate riya,i love riya,i hate riya
My problem is that Riya got off easy in comparison to every fucked up thing she ever did. If they really want the message to hit hard, have Riya lose her career, her fans and the love and respect of her sister. That way it would’ve been truly all for nothing because why does it matter that she’s isolated from people who barely tolerated with her entitled diva attitude.
The thing is, Riya's conclusion is the exact same conclusion that we had in season 2. She could have been an early boot, and her character and story would have been the exact same.
TLDR: this was a longer season than usual so the planning stage was harder. They needed to lock in with a boot order and STICK WITH IT. Write the scripted winner correctly so you feel you won’t HAVE to change it! They needed to make Riyas victory not completely tipped in her favor by making other characters idiots or ooc. I think the core issue here is that it’s the first season odd nations has done that’s not a 13 episode season and 8 episodes longer and they just didn’t know how to manage all that time. I think they needed to plan this with a little more thought. Especially when they were flip flopping with the boot orders and the last minute change to make Riya the winner instead of Jake because they ultimately couldn’t write Jake’s character consistently for the life of them (btw not an opinion. A FACT! Most of the proofreaders felt like he didn’t deserve to win so it was changed to Riya, most likely last minute) Speaking of Jake, things were going really good for him until they wrote him so horribly in Ep 18 (so many things wrong with that chapter 😪). Characters relapse I get it. But it was blatantly forced and I think a good chunk of us could tell. In Ep 21 they wrote him so confused half the time when the previous episode he was SO LOCKED IN AND BADASS! Jake is one of the best characters with the most potential but just has the wrong writers (spin-off COULD save him) Riya is the other issue. The premise of this whole season dates back to Ep 12 when Connor says “not everyone gets what they deserve… it’s not who deserves to win, it’s who wants it the most”. With the lengths Riya goes, it’s more than CLEAR Riya was the one to win. OK! But in the same token make it make sense! They basically give her the most insane plot armor! They do this by making characters mainly Jake, Ally and Connor ABSOLUTE MORONS! You know it’s serious when the writing is tipped more in favor of Riya compared to Jake WHO WAS SAVED BY A TOTEM AT ONE POINT! By the way, Jake was about to give himself up initially but no one talks about that.
Honestly, I think we're going to have to permanently lower our expectations for any All-Stars seasons from now on, because this exact thing happened to everyone in TDAS for Mike and Zoey to get farther.
I love how you make Phineas and Ferb and Disventure Camp content, keep up the good work (And try not to stress yourself out, you deserve to make what you wanna make!! ❤)
Thank you so so much, I really appreciate it! :D I'd love to do it all, honestly, ideally I'd love to review every single episode of every show that I enjoy, but I do see how that's not really doable ahah Thanks 🫶
The most shocking part about the results of this finale is how Tom, Jake AND Ally's moment(s) in this episode got a TON of views on Twitter, with two Tomjake posts reaching over 1 million views near simultaneously, others reaching over 400-500k views, and it even reaching Japanese audiences, all on Twitter. It just feels like a shock that THIS episode was what blew up online and got new people to check the show out, and it even trended in Spanish Twitter
ok here's the thing....I see what lesson they were trying to share . Jake really won because he has people around him and riya does not. What does winning get you if you have no one to share your victories to , and if it was worth it to have doing what you did to get there....but I say this ending is so dissatisfying because not only does riya win the money , she does not change as a character or fully earned this. Ok to explain further....riya all season has shown to have a character of cruelty and although determined, completely lost a space for empathy . Once again to the near end , we then see parts of her doubting her actions , influence and the effects it has on people . THE NEAR END . I simply cannot root for someone that is written out to be irredeemable even with the fact that they tried to make her out to be someone to feel bad about . This victory for her also gave her what she wanted , but not everything. Ik that should be satisfying but I also cannot forget how much more she should be punished for attempting murder in multiple occasions live on tv . I’m not saying she didn’t work hard for it , but the way they handled her messed up any chance of showing if she really lost in life . She started this season having no friends and ending with none . She started this season not in good terms with Connor, and it’s the same at the end. I don’t think she really lost . I get what they tried to do it just doesn’t hit all the angles I think it should’ve . Jake imo may have deserved the win more than riya, and I’m aware Jake has his own flaws , and yeah it would’ve probably been like the end of season 2 , but I think her end may have been more interesting. Imagine her having a full on breakdown and having recollections of the mistakes she’s made and aware she doesn’t deserve the full victory. I do think she should be arrested though . Needing time in prison maybe would help her learn that winning is not worth ruining yourself and the people around you . Jake winning I think would’ve done a lot more good if he had the money . They could’ve made a happier ending maybe restoring Ashley’s farm and everything that was lost . Jake although inconsistent as a character would have more reason to have won that is justifiable. end of rant 💀
i think the ending is good but how it got there and a lot of other aspects were terrible, plus Riya was not a complex character at least not nearly as much as any of the season 1 villains, also Jake was insufferable and ally was the only finalist who deserved the money (Jake already lives off Miriam's win and Riya is already rich)
I'm glad Riya won not because I like her but because it's fitting for this season. Mariam would be a good winner but that last move she pulled left a sour taste in my mouth like that was such a vicious strategy she used that no one brings up and that makes me upset. James was a solid winner and I have no complaints there but Riya is the best winner because from start to finish she wanted to win. Yes she went too far and crossed so many lines so she can say that her methods were dirty but at the end of the day she can say she won. The only question Left for her to answer is was it worth it? And that's why she's the best winner.
I’ll have to disagree on a couple of things… To me, Riya winning doesn’t make any sense mostly because of the writing. In the later part of the season, her plot armor shined brighter than the sun (wins a gem collecting contest without collecting any gems). Not to mention her extreme methods she should defo be arrested for. I personally see a character that won not because of their own determination, strategies or will power, but because the writers wanted to show the moral of the story, being that "money can’t buy friends" and whatnot. Which is more than fine if they wouldn’t had sacrificed a whole character for it. And about Miriam ‘s "dirty tactic", yes, it was dirty, But it never comes close to other tactics that have been shown that could have killed someone (Ally, Riya) or could’ve ended entire relationships (Alec, Ellie), hence why it’s overlooked.
Yeah, Im going to miss the all stars reviews... even though this season wasnt perfect, I still feel like they managed to wrap up most of the storylines pretty well. Also, 22 Episodes/reviews over 8 Months is just insane 💀 ( also, thx for using one of my patented Riya puns :D ) Edit: nope, I checked my comment on episode 18. No Idea how I came up with 30 bad Riya Puns but not a single one of them was Riya being "Riya-ful". Still, looking forward to the S4 reviews 🔥
My idea is to let 3 new seasons of contestants for season 4-6 be made and instead an All Star Season, to bring back all 5 cast you have a season theme I called Beloved vs Hated, where one side is filled with beloved characters that at least been in 5 challenges, and the hated the ones people hated the most from 5 cast with the same 5 challenges rule. Only thing is that it’s not base on audience love or hate, but the in-universe cast feeling towards there fellow contestants. The 2 liked and disliked of each cast making a 20 all stars 2.0 style cast. But this Idea is long shot and long term thinking.
I am really proud that riya won but what Rosa Marie said back in season 2 was true that the problem isn’t the game it’s her and she let the competition change not only did she win the millon but she will be alone again and also riya did win the three million dollars but now she will be alone again and now I feel bad for riya after the season ended I feel like riya gonna be worried about her sister and now that riya lost everything now she is scared her sister might do the same thing as she did I hope riya gets her redemption in her mini series if there is with riya and her sister I hope I hope riya chould change make sure Eesha doesn’t do the same things as her I hope riya gets redemption
Seriously i think the creators have a favoritsim to not grtting physical karma to Riya i mean after all she should have to done she should be cancelled i mean when she exposes james for using aiden in the second seasons he lost his followerd bur riya shes just alone i mean i dont feel completley satisfied
Ahhh Jeg, congrats on finishing all the weekly reviews 🎉🎉 It was awesome seeing them, actually, since half the season, i think, your reviews were part of watching the show for me >_< I like a lot that you gave your thoughts considering the whole plot and not just criticizing or complementing everything, even with this finale, i know you would come beyond the "it's good/it's bad" mentality... About Riya winning, I kinda feel like you say you felt... Still processing i think... I sure think it was a risky finale and not super well executed, but i loved that i was beyond the formula of TD (it would never have an ending like this) and not giving the winner for the most popular character (which i think they thought of seeing the original bot order with ashley on the win for 3 different versions), which, in this run, would probably be Jake... Omg, I'm writing a lengthy text but lets go haha 😅 I think for now that this finale was a culmination of what the writers thought of what the people watching were expecting... The whole JakeTom stuff was stalled to maintain the shippers watching (i think) falling into "we will give what the fans want" and the riya victory was the shock value of "we will giva what the fans don't want"... I like Jake but I think they sacrificed a lot of his character for some mc stuff... like episode 20, c'mon, everyone likes him that much now? I didn't like too how they transform Aiden and Lake in Jake cheerleaders, It felt forced (especially Aiden...In game he was realizing how nice Jake could be, but after elimination Jake was the coolest guy ever for him... like c'mon... felt like glee with rachel all over again - which i don't know if you watched, but sucked a lot)... Ashley on the other hand was okay, I do like how she was on Jake's and Ally's side but we still see her with Lil, Nick and Will in her ending photo ^^ This episode wasn't as bad as the last one on Jake's side, but it still felt a little too mc for me sometimes Riya's on the other hand... HOW DARE they make such a sad and reliable scene for her sad ending??? I know what she was doing, scrolling pictures of people that left your life while regretting stuff... it's really lonesome, it's awful, an really awful feeling... And that was GREAT! That last scene was what made the finale a little better for me... It was something more grounded, more emotional, like that scene with grett and the tree... chefs kiss! Too bad it was a tough way to get here I think Riya was getting repetitive and that's the problem... They kept making her evil stuff bigger and bigger, and lost it on the middle... she said to connor to live in a wheelchair for heavens sake! What do u do after that?? Till now I loved how DC felt like TD season 1 but without Heather being the obvious villain, winning till the end just to secure easy conflicts... now, although i know they didn't keep riya for this, it felt much like it... and of course, the riya finale with a twink felt to on the nose for the s2 finale... too similar, even the ending (just this time they made it more confidently cause know they have a loyal fanbase), which was better indeed but still felt a little recyclable haha I must say thought, i like the overall feel of this season... It really felt like an All Stars stuff, going foward with everyone's plots in some way (maybe tess could get something more but ok ok, her on this finale was something i loved), some characters i liked, but after TDAS i really feel like drawing this guys (im an artist by the way 😅)... Grett and Ally were surprisingly cool characters and, for some reason, Fiore became one of my favorites after this season... They're maybe more thoughts about this season, but i'll leave them to your grettrospective x3 im looking foward to it >w< And thanks for reading and answering the comments, the first time i write my thoughts about DC was here on your comments session, it was a WHILE (like years) that i said lengthy stuff about shows i like on the internet... i always had a plan to create a youtube channel and almost got there sometimes, but after commenting here i felt more secure to write my thoughts (in english, which is kinda hard cause its not my native language) and now im gaining courage to record the audio... so thank u, for your reviews and for your answers... I'm gonna be here following yout DC content and maybe Phineas and Ferb? Who knows? If the revival is easy to find to watch, maybe ill give it a shot, will be cool to watched and see your reviews after just like now with DCAS...
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! I see what you mean, writing and speaking a language that's not your native one is never easy, it takes a lot of practice and even courage at first. The only way to get better at it and feel more comfortable is to just practice - although I sometimes still get frustrated when I have a thought in Italian and I can't seem to find a translation/an equivalent in English ahah I agree that the Jake-Tom drama was dragged on for way too long, and because of that not only the other characters got robbed of more screen time, but also their whole romance lost its charm. I admit I never cared much for it to begin with, but as they season went on, my brain actually started tuning it out lol Riya as a whole is extremely interesting as a character and this ending is really charming, yet the execution of her arc could have been a whole lot better, especially if they wanted the ending to feel even more impactful. Especially had she actually lost some friends she made along the way, like she did with Rosa and Lake in S2, that really would have helped. Yeah ahah Aiden being such a hardcore Jake supporter was too much. I do like the idea of them becoming friends and overcoming their issues, but that seems a bit too much. It was probably meant to stress how much Jake grew and how many friends he made along the way in contrast to Riya, but it did feel forced
If it had been up to me I would have made it so that when Riya pushes Jake down (in the final round), the latter would have clung to the platform instead of falling. At that point Riya tries to make him fall by stepping on his hands and when the boy is about to give up Tom and all the others exclaim "JAKE! JAKE! JAKE!...." At that point Jake manages to get up, despite the pain, and returns to face Riya, winning. The boy, as a sign of recognition, decides to share the prize with all those who helped him with Riya slowly realizing that she has lost everything I admit it would be even more fitting if the finalist was Ally, given her arc on judging
4:288:008:4114:4515:20 This is why I love your reviews over anyone else's 11:29 This is why I love him 17:45 I'm honestly gonna miss your reviews but it's understandable, their so well rewritten I literally refuse to belive that English isn't your first language. Congrats on your hundredth video and hope to see more PnF content sometime later!
AHAHAHAH thanks so much, it means a lot 🥰 I'm not done with DC reviews entirely, I'll keep reviewing the miniseries and even season 4, just not as often 😛 After all, whenever I watch something that interests me, my mind is always flooded with loads of thoughts that I need to share with the world, so I'll undoubtedly do more reviews on the upcoming season xD Also because I'm kinda already getting nostalgic right now, so I don't feel like stopping now ahaha Thanks again, especially about the English thing, it really does mean a lot to me 🥹
@@Jegcopo No problem! Proud to say I've been here since Phineas and Ferb, my jaw literally dropped when I saw you reviewing DC! Looking forward to seeing future reviews though do take care!
Honestly i'm not upset that jake Came in second place because technically jake did win ryia Only when the money that's it Jake wants something better than money respect
I think it is funny that the Order of the stories is the less important for riya to more important. First the people she had NO good interactions with, then Ally who she had worked with in a limited way. Then its Grett who had also been her Ally, then Alec who was her n1 Ally this season, and finishing with Connor who was the most important person to her.
Just wanted to say, overall, I've enjoyed your weekly DC episode reviews the most out of everyone on TH-cam. They aren't too biased and are pretty constructive. 🙂 My thoughts on this finale, I loved it. I think it's the best DC finale for sure. I wanted Jake to win, but this Riya ending was quite unique and brave, and I'm glad they went with this approach.
Thanks, I'm so very glad you enjoyed the reviews :D And I agree with you there, the finale really was unique, it definitely feels completely different and surprising compared to the previous ones
I feel it was so unsatisfying watching Riya win bc she isn’t written like a satisfying villain would. I h8 a forcibly sympathetic villain … & I also h8 somebody who never faced an actual challenge. I needed her win 2 feel like Heather’s or … if we pretend Julia won S2, then her as well. Riya is not an underdog in any way. & it felt like her comeuppance felt just unfair 2 her as a character bc she was written 2 shallowly 2 have an interesting win. I wish Aiden threw some punches @ her. I wish she was closer 2 the bottom more times. I wish her reasoning was developed. I’ll keep saying it … Disventure Camp’s villain writing is nowhere as good as TD’s. They have the time & freedom 2 write better than TD. It’s sucks sucks sucks that such high aesthetic quality is accompanying writing that’s 2 ambitious 2 its own good. They need 2 stop rushing it. They need 2 finish every scene & quality control. Ppl r still gonna support them so they need 2 slow down next time. Also, Connor should’ve been with ME. Ha ha !
Also I usually don’t care about messy romance writing. I actually kinda love messily written relationships as long as it’s interesting. But I do think Connor marrying is pretty unrealistic, unexpected, & I don’t like it. Ending with marriage is such an annoying message & I wished we were past that already.
Hunter should have won the comeback challenge not the witers pet (which his inly goals was get riya out which failes miserably also hunter can take the role as leader and is olay with jake in episode 5
This was definitely a satisfying ending in my book Jake and Tom got back together and while riya won technically she lost a whole lot more everyone is moving on with their lives and friends and she’s alone
@@Raddish-Is-Raddcause it isn’t? Why would should riya care to begin with? The cast hate her now? They already did. None of them liked her anyway. She wasn’t close to them. Connor moved on? Ok she can find another man and with her status (no offense to Connor) but she probably will find someone better. Heck the ending shows she still has fame money and a career so she has fans she’s just lonely. The fact her sister called her she’s probably happy for her. That’s why the message failed because realistically riya should be rubbing it everyone faces since they all hated her
@@Yoshixandir I agree with that. I don't get this whole message DC is tryna spread that Riya got a bad end. Nobody even really had a connection with her even when she wasn't evil. She really only lost Connor, Lake, And Rosa and two of those people she only knew for like a few weeks? Yeah she lost 1 guy but she's popular, 3 million dollars richer, and still has fans. I especially don't get the line Krystal said to Riya since again, nobody really had a connection with Riya.
@@Raddish-Is-Raddexactly it’s not like these people were childhood friends. They are complete strangers. Like in big brother why would I care if they hate me (unless jury) I’m not gonna see them again
despite wanting riya to lose i think this was a really good ending though i kinda agree connor should have married lill but im sure his wife makes him happy. ive heard theories that one of the sillouettes in the cast teaser for season 4 looks like eesha so that makes me curios that if it is eesha what will she be like ive thought of two possibilities one where she is proud of riya and to be known as riyas sister and likely be targeted and also likly be a villain. or what i think is more interesting have her be ashamed to be riyas sister due to potential backlash following all stars and thus she wants to be the complete opposite of riya and be a heroic player im just thinking for a potential future heroes vs villains season where it would be more interesting to have them be on different teams. though chances of that are very slim.
Yeah, the chances of that happening are indeed slim, but I would absolutely love that. The final phonecall from Eesha was either meant to suggest that we would see her next season OR simply to imply that Riya could at the very least still make things right with her sister and make sure she doesn't do the very same mistakes she made
RIYA DESERVED BETTER HONESTLY LEMME BE SO FR THEY DID HER SO DIRTY I WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE IF SHED JUST BEEN ELIMED A LIL BIT AFTER THE MERGE THEY HAD TO RUIN HER THO
It’s funny that someone on Reddit made a shitpost that predicted the last 4 episodes and ending that was the outcome of what we got. And they just did it with a spitball shitpost that came true at the end of the series.
Dude good rating - i agree All-Stars was "not so good" and finale could be more "epic" but i am still fine because in my eyes (heroes wins, vilians "redeem" and Riya has money but she sad and alone). My opinion on Riya: She is good written character but i hate her as person - thats why ending of All-Stars was "satysfying" + that sad piano version of Disventure Camp theme make it clear. BTW Ria-lization is great pun by my opinion 😆
I have no idea how they do things at ONC, but I'm pretty sure by the time EP13 and the weekly reviews came out, the season was already written and the voice actors had already recorded their lines, the animation was probably the only thing they were still working on there. I say this mostly beacuse writing a show episode by episode without ever planning ahead would be insane xD Not to mention, I hardly doubt it only takes them one week to animate an episode. By the time they announced the weekly releases they were probably almost done with the season
The problem with this ending is that’s it not satisfying in the slightest, shocking ≠ good. 21 long episodes, the last we’ll see most of these characters and THIS is the way we got out. And to top it off the thumbnail is tomjake. Amazing. Julia from tdi 2023 and Heather are what the writers think riya is
Gabby was never at College with Ellie or Tess, but yes this season was a hot mess started off really strong then once merge episodes came along is when this god awful heap got so much worst. I could go on and on about how bad this season was but i can;t be bothered
@@ThatOneSandwichGuy I see what you mean lol Although what I meant for the Gabby thing is friends and family usually do dress up for their loved ones' graduations, whereas Gabby was wearing her usual sweater ahah they probably didn't care to create a new character design for her just for that one picture
Well At least her family loves her now but They are in india in ryia is in america alone If ryia wanted to have a partner or friends Riya would have to look for someone who really doesn't care about her past but really connor right ryia Is the only one who refused to change Does ryia love When people really hate her Does She enjoy sitting alone in the And the dog what everybody else is joined their life Including connor
She has 3 million dollars she can visit or give them the money to travel. There’s a lot of flaws with riya but the issue is it’s practically non existent: she has fame which means tons of adoring fans, she has money, she has a career that helped her become more successful. And she has a loving family. Riya can just leave America and start fresh and due to her celebrity status almost all her issues especially loneliness would be solved
I’ll say what I said again on Twitter, even though I like Jake and I would prefer him to win honestly it’s better for me to win, especially the mess that they were trying to tell us throughout the whole season and I tried to leave out my biases aside I think it is a smart decision for us as fans to rewatch the season as a whole, and truly make our bases on that, especially how each episode turned into an argument in the fandom As well, it is sad to see the gen one cast go, but I am excited to see the gen two cast and what they plan to do with them and I am also happy that almost everybody had a happy ending honestly hate them love them, All these characters deserve a happy ending , except for Yul cuz I hate him and Riya sadly
"gabby?! No, you crossed the line." Who made you think you could be so real? No but aiden, sure. He can be super cringe. Connor? Idrc about him. And everyone else, oh well! But.. GABBY?!
@@BisexualAmbivert Ikr!? She had no right to hurt her. The others? Absolutely, she can do whatever she wants to them, it's not like I care... BUT GABBY? Riya should be ashamed of herself.
the problem I have is not that a bad person won the show absolutely not, it's the writters wants us to believe Ryia is some sort of genius super strong super villain, she isn't physically that strong or at least should be and her "development" is not there to be a winner.
Honestly I think riya should’ve gotten arrested mid “emotional family guy music scene” and I hope tom and Jake don’t get a spin off… Jake kinda ruined this whole season for me he was pretty annoying and baby like.
Nick and Lill? Well I would be glad if if came back but I don't give a dam if Nick comes back. Another character I want to come back is Karol, hm Kai and Magie could gladly come back too why not.
her winning itself is not outrageous writing even if she seems to be in a rich family but thats not a deal breaker but she def got off too lightly not only its episode but in the whole entire show. like boo hoo everyone in the show hates her but if shes still has a social media presence and a great acting career then that's not good enough karma for her she should of got cancelled and at least only ever get B movie roles, and this is coming from someone who hate cancel culture but she 100% should get cancelled. Conner also should of sued ryia for the 3 million that would of been the perfect ending too even if she still has media presence, i am glad she won over jake at least jakes my least fav character in all of TD and TD fan series, thank fuck this shitty dumpster fire season is over, sadly unless they get competent writers with actual brains i have no hope for season 4 if eesha makes season 4 she should be a pre merge or at most early merge boot im sure im not the only one who doesn't want anyone related to ryia to make it it finale 5 like her but overall it wont effect me since im not watching season 4
You know what in episode 17 ryia have a Horse name bojack the tv show bojack horseman I realize ryia and bojack are the Same character they have people who cares about them and they Pushes them away they ruined people who cares about them
I like this ending because if you want the catharsis of her having some downfall, I don’t think a traditional loss could have possibly hurt as much her realization that she was the only one unhappy. Mind you, she was already wealthy because of her acting career, so the money didn’t even really do anything for her. If she lost, her efforts would have been for nothing, but this way is worse because it forces her to face that even her *success* still means nothing.
I hope Future Ep Eesha(Riya Little sister) will be a good person, she don't want to become bad person just like my big sister after big sister won S3,Eesha call phone but Eesha very unhappy about her she say look sister you won S3 but you just wrong choice,Making a lot mistake so much ok
Perhaps Ally not making the final 2 wasn’t a bad thing after all since despite Ally’s superior physical capabilities, Riya would likely still overdo it and hit her in the throat like she did Jake, and well that would be sad to watch Ally nearly choking to death. I know Hunter and Tess wouldn’t have liked it.
I think you and others are taking this way to seriously you should just watch it and have fun most people hate on this season because of something that they could write fanfiction about what they wanted so just let them write this fan made show how they want
I feel like this guy's pretty fair with his criticism though. But your comment sure reminded me of that Lechgang channel, that guy needs to chill out lol.
Criticism - the constructive kind - is actually something most writers would appreciate and look forward to, it's destructive criticism that is harmful and often just pointless. I tend to always see the positives in this (and any other) show, but I'm pretty sure the writers wouldn't mind to hear some tips and suggestions from their own fans
I was literally wondering if you'd post today just one minute before you posted lol. How come you don't wait 'til the next day? So now, looking at season 3 as a whole, I don't think it's so bad, I understand what they were going for and I'm glad it's not your usual "good guys win" trope. Like, you can't tell me you'd hope Jake won. Now, could they have done a million things better? Yes. One thing I saw someone say is that Riya should have won but face the consequences of her actions (much like Emily), as in going to jail for almost killing people. I liked to see Ally still wanting to help Jake and everyone's storylines wrap up, although I still don't know which straight woman's fantasy is Tom and Jake. I started disliking Tom more and more this season. He likes Jake because he's so kind - OK?? Is he the last kind person on Earth? Do better. Unrelated and I hate to say it, but Imo no other character feels so much like a self-insert as Grett does, although I don't even know her voice actress. Her and Yul's story ultimately had no point, and I think that Yul was actually just a plot device so that Grett could have her little pull-up moment and then be eliminated. Why should he have a semi-happy ending? and I agree, Ellie and Gabby should have gotten their cut just like him. Also, what do you mean you don't care about Rosa?? Best character of season 2, no discussion. By the way, I also watched the beta version recently and I was surprised to see Nick actually had a personality there, not a good one, but he did have one. And I didn't know he liked Lill, so why would you suggest Lill marry Connor? Hello? I heard people mention that the ending is somehow like Family Guy, which I don't get, but I'm surprised you didn't mention it. Anyway, I'm very proud of you for pulling through your little project here, and I enjoyed watching this series with you. ^^
As always, my timing is very peccable. I actually upload my videos in the evening because TH-cam says that's the time of day when most of my viewers are active on the platform. I suppose it's because most of my audience is from the US and at that time both them and Europeans are awake, not really sure lol I did not expect such an ending with Riya, I feared a Riya win would have implied an extremely rushed redemption that came out of nowhere, so I initially did prefer a Jake win instead. But compared to this ending, I do think this one is better than a Jake win, 100%. A Grett win would have been better than both options but nevermind... I think the Gruel storyline could have been handled way better than this, it felt as if it was just an afterthought, afterall nothing happened for 12 whole episodes, only for the breakup to happen in EP13. Yul was really wasted this season, I was hoping he would be the main villain. Actually, I absolutely wouldn't have minded a redemption or just a change of heart from Riya, and have Yul win instead. His wouldn't have been a Pyrrhic Victory, but he seemed like the right person for the role of the character who can't be reformed. Well, you don't like Gabby, I don't like Rosa, we're even now 😤 She was too boring... EVEN DAN is a more interesting character. DAN. tsk tsk I did want Lill and Nick together, but I had a feeling that with the remake happening, that would be impossible. Or at least pretty unlikely. I do prefer LillxNick as a couple, but I also don't mind LillxConnor lol I'm not sure I see the family guy connection, if you can find the post or comment that mentioned it maybe it'll hit me like a ton of bricks, but rn I can't think of any connection there And thaaanks thanks so much, watching it together was the best part, maybe we can watch the new season too when it comes out 🤗
I think the point of the ending wasn't that the contestants hated her, they already did. It just showed the contestants having fun in genuine relationships while Riya is a lonely, miserable person because she put success first
Future Ep Eesha leave the Sister Party celebrate Win S3 say Apology What Now Ugh what wrongs with you sister you just hate my friendly so much because you want money, famous better than friends even know you just tried to killed someone,I don't want to hear rights now sister you all thinks about yourself,All we just leave me alone(Eesha Crying😢)(Wendy Reference Gravity Falls)
To be fair, it’s not like if riya lost all these campers will like her. Riya has nothing to lose at this point because in reality none of them really liked her to begin with. At this point might as well take a shot at the prize because if these campers hate you already they still wouldn’t like riya after she lost heck they probably will laugh at her
@@Aices-j6pthere’s more then one guy though. Yeah it sucks for riya that connor found someone else but that relationship was toxic. The only person who she cares for moved on. She can easily solve this issue literally any time. She has everything still: money fame fans a successful career. That’s why I don’t buy her sad ending she still has zero consequences only losing Connor. In reality, she wouldn’t care if the other cast hate her because they weren’t that close to her anyway

I've never felt so mixed on an ending before. He's hoping that if Eesha is in Season 4, she'll be the polar opposite of her sister in every way possible; writing most of all.

But Heather wasn’t the villain in that season
I get what you mean. But compared to Alejandro, Heather was "the good guy", which Heather was actually thrilled about.
Lightning won an ending in TDROTI, and Mike won an ending in TDAS, even though he himself wasn't a villain, Mal was who got him there in the first place.
There’s a compilation of how many times Riya nearly killed someone it’s more than 10….I don’t like how they try to make us feel bad for her
“It was just an act” is a stupid excuse
Not gonna lie I don’t think they were showing that, I think it’s more like how much it shows that riya genuinely thinks she’s in the right after all of this !
@@felixmoe if Jake died they would’ve just cancelled Riya instead of putting her in jail
@@JegcopoI see 3 possible senarios
1. The judge saw the footage of their time at camp and had a change of heart and allowed him to adopt Fiore and parents allow it because they wouldn’t have to deal with her anymore.
2. Fiore manipulated/ threatened the judge to allow Alec to adopt her

R.I.P Grettrospective :
Such a shame 😔 I'll still call my retrospective that anyway tho, Riya's win is not gonna change my plans, no sir! 😤
A FACT! Most of the proofreaders felt like he didn’t deserve to win so it was changed to Riya, most likely last minute)
Speaking of Jake, things were going really good for him until they wrote him so horribly in Ep 18 (so many things wrong with that chapter 😪). Characters relapse I get it. But it was blatantly forced and I think a good chunk of us could tell. In Ep 21 they wrote him so confused half the time when the previous episode he was SO LOCKED IN AND BADASS! Jake is one of the best characters with the most potential but just has the wrong writers (spin-off COULD save him)
Riya is the other issue.
The only antagonist who never made a single friend or lurned any lesson
ok here's the thing....I see what lesson they were trying to share .
I’ll have to disagree on a couple of things…
To me, Riya winning doesn’t make any sense mostly because of the writing.
Also, 22 Episodes/reviews over 8 Months is just insane 💀 ( also, thx for using one of my patented Riya puns :D )
Edit: nope, I checked my comment on episode 18. No Idea how I came up with 30 bad Riya Puns but not a single one of them was Riya being "Riya-ful". Still, looking forward to the S4 reviews 🔥
I appreciate it, I also had some puns in mind that I never got to use because I didn't really know how to make them fit lol Thanks for the support! :D

Omg, I'm writing a lengthy text but lets go haha 😅
I think for now that this finale was a culmination of what the writers thought of what the people watching were expecting... Ashley on the other hand was okay, I do like how she was on Jake's and Ally's side but we still see her with Lil, Nick and Will in her ending photo ^^
This episode wasn't as bad as the last one on Jake's side, but it still felt a little too mc for me sometimes
Riya's on the other hand... It was something more grounded, more emotional, like that scene with grett and the tree... chefs kiss! Too bad it was a tough way to get here
I think Riya was getting repetitive and that's the problem... They kept making her evil stuff bigger and bigger, and lost it on the middle... she said to connor to live in a wheelchair for heavens sake! What do u do after that??
Till now I loved how DC felt like TD season 1 but without Heather being the obvious villain, winning till the end just to secure easy conflicts... now, although i know they didn't keep riya for this, it felt much like it... and of course, the riya finale with a twink felt to on the nose for the s2 finale... too similar, even the ending (just this time they made it more confidently cause know they have a loyal fanbase), which was better indeed but still felt a little recyclable haha
I must say thought, i like the overall feel of this season...
They're maybe more thoughts about this season, but i'll leave them to your grettrospective x3 im looking foward to it >w<
And thanks for reading and answering the comments, the first time i write my thoughts about DC was here on your comments session, it was a WHILE (like years) that i said lengthy stuff about shows i like on the internet... i always had a plan to create a youtube channel and almost got there sometimes, but after commenting here i felt more secure to write my thoughts (in english, which is kinda hard cause its not my native language) and now im gaining courage to record the audio... so thank u, for your reviews and for your answers...
The only way to get better at it and feel more comfortable is to just practice - although I sometimes still get frustrated when I have a thought in Italian and I can't seem to find a translation/an equivalent in English ahah
I agree that the Jake-Tom drama was dragged on for way too long, and because of that not only the other characters got robbed of more screen time, but also their whole romance lost its charm. I admit I never cared much for it to begin with, but as they season went on, my brain actually started tuning it out lol
Riya as a whole is extremely interesting as a character and this ending is really charming, yet the execution of her arc could have been a whole lot better, especially if they wanted the ending to feel even more impactful.
I am so proud of jake 👏
He start off with no friends No boyfriend no Support
But now jake have them all Now that's a better price
If it had been up to me I would have made it so that when Riya pushes Jake down (in the final round), the latter would have clung to the platform instead of falling. At that point Riya tries to make him fall by stepping on his hands and when the boy is about to give up Tom and all the others exclaim "JAKE! JAKE! JAKE!...."
At that point Jake manages to get up, despite the pain, and returns to face Riya, winning.
The boy, as a sign of recognition, decides to share the prize with all those who helped him with Riya slowly realizing that she has lost everything
I admit it would be even more fitting if the finalist was Ally, given her arc on judging
Honestly, my brain short-circuited after watching that episode.
Well actually according the the show writers christal still made her give all of her 5 helpers there 10000 cuts
Who's the 5th helper? Yul, Alec, Ellie, Gabby and? Did I forget someone? lol

AHAHAHAH thanks so much, it means a lot 🥰
I'm not done with DC reviews entirely, I'll keep reviewing the miniseries and even season 4, just not as often 😛
After all, whenever I watch something that interests me, my mind is always flooded with loads of thoughts that I need to share with the world, so I'll undoubtedly do more reviews on the upcoming season xD Also because I'm kinda already getting nostalgic right now, so I don't feel like stopping now ahaha
Thanks again, especially about the English thing, it really does mean a lot to me 🥹
@@Jegcopo No problem!
Riya should face ally instead of jake since riya tried to convince ally to act like her earlier in the season
That would have been very fitting actually
Just wanted to say, overall, I've enjoyed your weekly DC episode reviews the most out of everyone on TH-cam. They aren't too biased and are pretty constructive. 🙂
My thoughts on this finale, I loved it. I think it's the best DC finale for sure. I wanted Jake to win, but this Riya ending was quite unique and brave, and I'm glad they went with this approach.
Thanks, I'm so very glad you enjoyed the reviews :D
And I agree with you there, the finale really was unique, it definitely feels completely different and surprising compared to the previous ones
Happy 100 videos!

@@justezek8596they were joking 😭
Ironically this finale writing is really good they literally made it fitting that riya won in the way they could
This was definitely a satisfying ending in my book Jake and Tom got back together and while riya won technically she lost a whole lot more everyone is moving on with their lives and friends and she’s alone
Don't really see as much of a bad end for Riya though.
The ending wasn't bad, shows the reality of life
despite wanting riya to lose i think this was a really good ending though i kinda agree connor should have married lill but im sure his wife makes him happy.
ive heard theories that one of the sillouettes in the cast teaser for season 4 looks like eesha so that makes me curios that if it is eesha what will she be like ive thought of two possibilities one where she is proud of riya and to be known as riyas sister and likely be targeted and also likly be a villain. or what i think is more interesting have her be ashamed to be riyas sister due to potential backlash following all stars and thus she wants to be the complete opposite of riya and be a heroic player im just thinking for a potential future heroes vs villains season where it would be more interesting to have them be on different teams.
though chances of that are very slim.
Do you have the link
Masterful
Dude good rating - i agree All-Stars was "not so good" and finale could be more "epic" but i am still fine because in my eyes (heroes wins, vilians "redeem" and Riya has money but she sad and alone). My opinion on Riya: She is good written character but i hate her as person - thats why ending of All-Stars was "satysfying" + that sad piano version of Disventure Camp theme make it clear. BTW Ria-lization is great pun by my opinion 😆
Tbh the writing probably got sloppier because of the weekly release
It was probably because they changed writers in episode 14
I have no idea how they do things at ONC, but I'm pretty sure by the time EP13 and the weekly reviews came out, the season was already written and the voice actors had already recorded their lines, the animation was probably the only thing they were still working on there. I say this mostly beacuse writing a show episode by episode without ever planning ahead would be insane xD Not to mention, I hardly doubt it only takes them one week to animate an episode. By the time they announced the weekly releases they were probably almost done with the season
Like I say ryia Win the battle
But jake won the war 😊
I like to think yul used the earnings to start that podcast
I thought it was confirmed Gabby and Ellie did get the money tho
for some reason it felt so worth it and i dont know why
Jegcopo, amazing content it was really good
Thanks so much :D
The problem with this ending is that’s it not satisfying in the slightest, shocking ≠ good. 21 long episodes, the last we’ll see most of these characters and THIS is the way we got out. And to top it off the thumbnail is tomjake. Amazing. Julia from tdi 2023 and Heather are what the writers think riya is
Gabby was never at College with Ellie or Tess, but yes this season was a hot mess started off really strong then once merge episodes came along is when this god awful heap got so much worst. I could go on and on about how bad this season was but i can;t be bothered
@@ThatOneSandwichGuy I see what you mean lol
Although what I meant for the Gabby thing is friends and family usually do dress up for their loved ones' graduations, whereas Gabby was wearing her usual sweater ahah they probably didn't care to create a new character design for her just for that one picture

@Yoshixandir Well it would be harder for her to find any real friends with all her money and fame.

I’ll say what I said again on Twitter, even though I like Jake and I would prefer him to win honestly it’s better for me to win, especially the mess that they were trying to tell us throughout the whole season and I tried to leave out my biases aside I think it is a smart decision for us as fans to rewatch the season as a whole, and truly make our bases on that, especially how each episode turned into an argument in the fandom
As well, it is sad to see the gen one cast go, but I am excited to see the gen two cast and what they plan to do with them and I am also happy that almost everybody had a happy ending honestly hate them love them, All these characters deserve a happy ending , except for Yul cuz I hate him and Riya sadly

@@Jegcopo LITERALLY oml I didn't hate Riya that much until that very moment.
Ellie is so real "You hurt my girlfriend you bitch!"
the problem I have is not that a bad person won the show absolutely not, it's the writters wants us to believe Ryia is some sort of genius super strong super villain, she isn't physically that strong or at least should be and her "development" is not there to be a winner.
I think the writers were just trolling lmao

Sense The JakeXTom Arc Is Wrapped Up, We Don’t Need The JackTom Miniseries, Right, Right, RIGHT…
...Hopefully it does them better than All-Stars. I'm waiting for Gabby x Tom moments.
I suppose it's because most of my audience is from the US and at that time both them and Europeans are awake, not really sure lol
I did not expect such an ending with Riya, I feared a Riya win would have implied an extremely rushed redemption that came out of nowhere, so I initially did prefer a Jake win instead.
DAN. tsk tsk
I did want Lill and Nick together, but I had a feeling that with the remake happening, that would be impossible. Or at least pretty unlikely. I do prefer LillxNick as a couple, but I also don't mind LillxConnor lol
I'm not sure I see the family guy connection, if you can find the post or comment that mentioned it maybe it'll hit me like a ton of bricks, but rn I can't think of any connection there
