Im 18, my dad passed away about a year ago, we were planning on working on a 1978 Camaro and make it look just like the one he had when he was my age, sadly we never got to even get the car and being honest this video brings a tear in my eye, appreciate your dad and love that camaro til death man!:)
I want to do that w one of my boys but if I don't quit smoking I may not get that far sorry to hear about your dads passing I'm trying to quit short of breath already uggh wish me luck stay healthy out there
It look great man... glad to see a father and son building something together. .. I can promise you that he will take care of it because of the time that yall as a family did it together. .. the world needs more father's like you... great job again to you all..
This goes to show you that you don't need to spend $100,000+ at the restoration shops. This is very humbling and I am sure there are a lot of people out there like myself who want to restore a car but don't have that kind of money to pay shops to do it. Thank you for this family oriented video, Brody. You guys did a great job,! God bless.
Just like your son , I also had a 79 camaro. I also restored it myself. From engine to dash cluster to rugs. Seats , rear end, drivetrain, body work, power windows, etc etc etc the things that I learned and there's nothing more rewarding than to drive something down the road that turns people's heads and know that you did it yourself. Your son's going to have a lot of fun with that vehicle. I know I did.
Boy oh boy father of a son 81z28 I need to paint it also this looks bad ass you look just like my son and I...I hope to do my,boys thank for inspiration....
You guys did a great job. Hopefully, my 81 will come out this nice. I did have a 75 Buick regal with a single stage paint job cream in color. Surprisingly the paint held up well. The gloss wasn't as shiny as base coat clear coat. But still nice
*I have a 1976 Camaro Rally Sport; my Dad and I bought it in 2002. My Dad passed away in 2007 but, I promised to keep it alive. It's comfortable in my garage today.* @camaronado
yep,my daddy sold me my first car $1000 for a thrashed 77 toyota collola.he didnt like giving me anything, but sure loved his girlfriends and gave everything to them and their kids though.he gave them everything, then died.i got zero, zitch, notta.his last wife got the house, cars, garage, tools the fucking works.i got to attend the funeral, the fucking bitch didn't even buy him a grave stone and got $350,000
Man that turned out really good father & son Project 👍👍👍👍👍Awesome man what brand Wagner power painter was that I am talking about the model of the gun I want to spray my 87 Mustang notch with a mattle black instead of a rattle can good job man if u wet sanded it then buffed it out!! But his first car it looks good great job guy's!!
That’s probably the craziest way Iv ever seen a car get painted, totally bizarre !!! Plus it never was a Z28 , its a camaro !!! It can still be badass just being a camaro, I would have to see this one in personal to properly judge it, I’m still confused on the paint job and how it was laid down !?!? Totally crazy 😜
Wow! the car looks awesome. you mentioned the paint being a 'one coat' application. What type of paint did you use? no etch primer or clearcoat? Seriously interested as the finish looks great. Great job!
I have a 79 Camaro I’m 18 so don’t really have much time to restore it cause job an school :( But at least she can run I’m just tryna rebuild the engine
Aww this ain’t Nooo real Z28 it’s just a regular Camaro it’s missing the air flares on the front quarter panels it does look good though in the pictures but I don’t know about the paint lasting very long I don’t think you guys sanded it and clear coated it and sanded it again im thinking not and it’s going to start chipping away
If you restore the Camaro for your son you better buy a mustang for your daughter. My dad restored a nice Chevy truck for my older brother and all I got was a Pontiac Sunflower.....🤔
I forgot to add one important thing the only thing I miss about that vehicle and that I regret about that vehicle it's getting rid of it make sure you keep it don't make that same regret

Most of the time when you pay 100k it's for rusted chassis and rusted body. This car was in good shape and didnt take to much to get it restored.
I was a lead painter in a pro body shop for years and for an outside job with a house paint gun it don't look bad from the video ... good job

Your sons lucky for having a dad like you 🤘🤘
quick wet sanding and this would look professional level, great job for what you had and how you did it
Yes a wet sand and a good buffing to remove the orange peel and it would look amazing
Boy oh boy father of a son 81z28 I need to paint it also this looks bad ass you look just like my son and I...I hope to do my,boys thank for inspiration....

Nice Car ! be sure to keep it and never sell it !just my advice , I had a 67 firebird as my first car and sold it ! have always regretted selling it !
Nice work
nice car
That was really awesome. I do think however you should put the name of the 2 spray guns you used in the title and your hits will definitely rise.
looks great considering what tools were used and outdoor location !!!!

Wish had more information on gun used and paint ect. Im very interested in type of paint anf the guns used and how has it held up so far
He used a Wagner hose paint gun not the correct gun to paint cars with but it turned out pretty good
Did you ever put any Z28 vents in the fenders ?
Yeah, but how much is it gonna be to insure...?
is that a house paint gun?
My father had the same one maybe one day we'll get another one and work on it together
I’m buying one of my own with my non existent high school money wish me luck
How well does that single-stage paint do as far as scratches?
Must be nice ...1976 Chevy Nova 2dr my first car.. but it was in perfect shape. That would have been in 1980.
How long did it take to restore?
Wow! the car looks awesome. you mentioned the paint being a 'one coat' application. What type of paint did you use? no etch primer or clearcoat? Seriously interested as the finish looks great. Great job!
he says rustoleum @9:44
Tengo uno lo quiero restaurar pero me hacen falta piezas donde las puedo conseguir ??
Planning on doing this, did you undercoat the car?
What color is this??
My first car was a 1979 Camaro but mine is brown still and it’s not a Z28
poppa smurf gotta goin to town rig now ..........
Any engine mods
Paint looks good but on the plastic u should have used plastic primer because it pills there without plastic primer
I have a 79 Camaro I’m 18 so don’t really have much time to restore it cause job an school :(
But at least she can run I’m just tryna rebuild the engine
buy a crate engine, cheaper, will run first time and it has a warranty, check summit and jegs
You interested in selling?
I'm restoring a 74 Camaro and I'm only 12 years old
Aww this ain’t Nooo real Z28 it’s just a regular Camaro it’s missing the air flares on the front quarter panels it does look good though in the pictures but I don’t know about the paint lasting very long I don’t think you guys sanded it and clear coated it and sanded it again im thinking not and it’s going to start chipping away
