Sf4 really just had the best players, the best story lines, the best sets. Like, melee has/had an excellent upper crust of players who are all so special in their own right but sf4 could have 20 different players at a time that could have a chance to win an event and no one would be surprised by it.
I feel you. I was a fan of a lot of them, and honestly saw all of them having a pretty good chance at taking it :) They all grinded hard for it too. Ngl, I miss that era. Reading this comment made me flashback a lot of FGC History lol

I've never seen a Chun do backwards jump headstomp on wakeup in my life and Infil just busts it out like it's nothing lol. And the roundhouse follow up! He's just incredible.
They weren't 3x better with regular Ryu dawg, E Ryu and regular Ryu are extremely similar except for the fact that E Ryu does a hell of a lot more dmg. IMO he would've had the same problems with regular Ryu.

One thing to note was once Daigo started to play more loose, he was starting to keep up with Kaz, whereas he was playing too reserve, Kaz would just command grab him for days. Alot of that comes from the fact Evil Ryu doesn't take damage as well as Ryu. I still think he'd have lost, but I think the Ryu switch would have atleast allowed him to reset the bracket. Plus, it was the last big SF4 tournament, might as well go all out.
Never liked when tourney organizers upscale the stage for it to be more like a concert. Loses the intimacy and crowd atomsphere of the fighting game community. It will only hurt the industry in the long run imo.

Deserve more respect for not using a shoto. Shoto characters are OP, they have all the tools and can cancel into a combo from scratch causing huge dmg. The maths here are clear here. An alien with a mid tier char against an alien with a Top tier shoto char, wonder who wins? Look for Infiltration picking Akuma and enjoy seeing Daigo Ryu/E.ryu getting destroyed.

How can you do the fast tatsu into shoryu with evil ryu? Everytime I try to do it the opponent falls on the floor before my shoryuken
